“This is the best day of my life”
I've always LOVED that line. "You wanna rule them by fear, But what do you do with the ones that aren't afraid? I'M DOING WHAT YOU WON'T! I'M TAKING THEM OUT!" Funny thing is Bruce doesn't have an answer for him. And he never will.. It's sooo powerful because in it's own way it really shows Jason understood the fatal flaw in Batman's code
Jason really didn't understand actually Batman had a answer to Jason problem is jason could never see it from Batman's point of view and he was trying to protect Jason the moment jason starts killing is the day jason because another crook batman has to take down
Jason's character has a lot more depth than people give him credit for.
"You know what I thought, I thought I'd be the last person you ever let him hurt."
There is actually a lot to Jason that notoriously goes unexplored, like the fact that he was the best student of any Robin, loves literature, has almost as much training as Bruce, and is loyal to a fault. I'd argue that he isn't about vengeance, rather protecting people who can't protect themselves. Jason has been the victim of a broken society his entire life. He knows what it is like to feel hopeless, abandoned, and desperate. He knows what it's like to constantly be looking over his shoulder, seeing the face of his murderer in every crowd. Jason is at his core a survivor who seeks to ease the pain of other victims and end the cycle by whatever means necessary. Which is backed up even more by the things people forget about him, like his empathy, protective instincts, loyalty, and determination. He sees the holes in Bruce's system, and he isn't willing to let people be collateral damage in the fight for Gotham's soul. He isn't just a man about anger, he's also about recovery, trauma, and survival. He’s a boy that’s only ever wanted to be loved a boy who just wanted to make Batman proud a boy that just wanted a family. And to see his dad not only let the man live who’s done so much live and replace him and take his life his family that was he was so desperate have still be alive you can’t blame the poor kid.
That's such a good way to put it...Well done!
Ur probably right about him. But I like to think of Red Hood as a different person that came out seeking vengeance on society like how Arthur Fleck is a person with pseudobulbar affect and brain injury worsened by society but Joker is a maniacal killer. Jason Todd is just a innocent broken kid who lives within red hood.
I liked ur comment
@@WaveEdits I mean no offense but can't it be both I man look at what he did during Rebirth he saw the new Bizzaro and instead of let them turn him into a weapon he gave him the choice to be a hero. He saw the big oaf and didn't see a monster he saw a newborn barely able to spread his wings
“Then I got him killed my partner….my soldier I’ll carry that like I carry everything else” probably the most emotional peace of dialogue in my opinion yet it’s so brief
I like to think Red Hood cutting Batman's grappling line as symbolic of the fact that Bruce can't handle the fact that Red Hood in his own way *is correct* but *This doesn't change anything. It doesn't change anything at all*
"It's too late, you had your chance"
3:30 this really speaks volumes about Jason Todd as a character. And how he didn't deserve this live
To me what made jason todd downfall worked is that there a message and a moral to the story that in life people will see us as their Greatest failure will not admiting their own fault in helping us or failing us mostly schools and workplaces
Same Body, Diffrent Person. His Character Development was great
More like same person, different body. Bruce and Jason Todd personality wise is practically the same person on the inside, it's just that they bicker the most out of every other robin.
Great Tribute to The Character Jason Todd he made me question my morality and where it stands.
It's intriguing when Bruce sees Jason as "dangerous" even from the beginning, because it connects to his inability to see that just because Jason/Red Hood is "dangerous" he's NOT wrong.
Jason will NEVER be dangerous to Bruce Wayne.
However, Red Hood is more than just "dangerous" to Batman. He could've killed Bruce if he wanted to. Sniping him would've been easy. He even admits this to Superman.
Jason wants Bruce to see he's wrong for letting Joker go after he killed Jason. Which you could easily argue he is wrong for not killing him.
It also would have a Gwen Stacy effect to Batman's comics going forward. A Batman that tries to understand Red Hood & eventually agrees that sometimes killing is necessary. But only when there's absolutely no other choice in his case. THAT changes his comics dramatically. It also FINALLY gives a payoff to one of the best scenes in comics (Red Hood confronting Batman about letting The Joker live in Under The Red Hood)
No batman was wrong to bring Jason into the life of being a hero. Batman should have toke Jason Todd to an orphanage where he would have found a better life and a better way, batman failed as a hero and as a father figure to all of his Robins and his put them in dangerous situations with criminals who can easily kill them or mentally scar them forever
Thats all whats wrong with Arkham Knight, Jason never wanted to kill Batman, he wanted to show mistakes and flaws in his code. If Arkham Knight would Focus more on "breaking" Batman than killing him, the plot would hve been soo much better (well i cant complain becouse we got the best interpretation of Scarecrow)
This is so incredibly underrated woah
