    Hello, guys. Thanks for your comments and support. The Tenere 700 in this test was handled to us by the Yamaha dealer and it had the stock suspension settings. In order to offer a more detailed and precise answer on the Tenere 700 suspension thing, we'll come up with a follow-up test in a couple of days. We'll try again the Tenere on road and off-road with various compression/rebound settings. Be right back. :) P.S. You're a well informed and exacting community and we're proud of that!

      You have been attacking with poor compliments the most selling motorcycle for the autumn 2019 - spring 2020. It’s the unicorn of the motorbikes. It’s a platform on which can be added many adjustments for the suspension, with little investments. You forget to mention its simplicity and reliability. So thank bouth gays for the video, but I think that you can emphasize those points.

      @mrcsft 4 года назад +12

      @@dexio85 absolutely false. I tested both 790 and T700, Yamaha has better suspensions and looking at the slow motion video, you can see it clearly.
      The 790 and 850GS haven't adjustable suspensions, the 790 appear unstable, the GS is more stable but too soft for real off road usage.
      The T700 setting is too hard but the suspensions and frame is working good.
      Could be better with the right setting.
      On the T700 are mounted fully adjustable Kayaba suspensions, suspensions far from economic and this is demonstrated by the fact that many complain that the suspension is too soft and others that are too hard (depending on the setting). Often the cheap adjustable suspensions are not really adjustable...

Growing up in California The bottom line for me is reliability, cost of maintenance, availability of parts and services...... World wide I would stick with the Good folks at the Tuning fork of Yamaha. Just my opinion of Course. I owned a GS 800 and overall loved it... But I didn't love the dealer or service experience. Those bikes did well in the bog considering that they had hybrid tires and not dirt knobbies. The Yamaha needed to be dialed down a bit on suspension it looked like, but it was still nice. The KTM did well. The fact that it would not even be worth trying the BMW in the bog because of difficulty of pushing it around when it gets stuck or falls over, says a lot. These guys lost a good opportunity with the Yamaha by not adjusting the very decent suspension on it. It was obviously too hard for many of the bumpy road tests, and CERTAINLY for the boggy field. Dial it down, and it would have made a world of difference, and that low end torque motor would have made the off roading fun.

    Adjustable suspension... adjust it !!

      Seems obvious and yet many big reviewers claim its too soft and little reviewers claim its too hard.
      What is interesting with the Tenere is that it is so easily adjusted and still no one does it. Enjoyable video though.

      @@MotoGuzziMoto I made the same experience from all the reviews. Some testers from Australia even said that all similiar bikes need stiffer springs when you really want to push it hard offroad. Some people even completely open all valves / remove damping and are happy with that. I think its hard to build an on+offroad bike that suits everybody for both scenarios. Most likely thats impossible anyway, maybe with (expensive) electronic suspension.

      Yeah I have a MT07 2019 (I know it's not a tenere lol) and on the stock setting the back it's pretty harsh at least for my weight (I'm 78kg without gear), after changing 2 notches for softer feels more confortable on the bumps and still giving good feedback

      @@Marco-cl9pb Well I have the same weight and changed to a Wilbers suspension. Progressive fork springs, 7.5wt wilbers zero friction oil and the 640 shock strut. Its quite harsh when you ride it on bad roads all day, but for 2-3 hours on average roads its fine. Stock suspension showed too much nose dive when breaking and the shock wasnt that good either, but the Wilbers is also far from perfect. I think in this price range you have to deal with this.

      You can only adjust a cheap suspension so much...It's still a cheap suspension.
