I have 3 random questions about Vietnam that I just remembered from my 2006 trip. Do you still see American High School Rings everywhere? I remember when my drivers found out I loved war stuff they took me to a Veteran Hall that meets like twice a month to drink and they all had stories of shooting up Americans but they also all seemed to have American Class rings. They gave me 3 of them to take home and try to find the families, I did for two but the 3rd was a Troy High school and not sure if you know how many Troy High Schools there are but there are A lot lol
Second do the police still go around once a week to check do a Passport check? I remember them always looking for me when I forgot to go to the station sometimes, I actually have a ton of photos of me with all the police that came to fetch me, first time scary after that I realized it was just a thing.
Third do you still hear that dry cough everyone has because they aren't drinking enough water? I remember I used to go though 3 or 4 water bottles a day and my driver would still have half of the first one i gave them. I found out most people didn't drink water as much as I do or we do, it was just a dry cough because they aren't drinking enough. I figure though with better infrastructure that might of gone away.

1) I can honestly say that I've never "noticed" a high school ring on anyone or heard about them in VN
2) They do, and during Covid, the door-to-door checks in general were quite frequent
3) Yes, but I don't know if it has anything to do with water consumption. With 10 million people, all of the motorbikes, and constant construction, air quality plays a big factor in that cough.
@@phucmapvlog actually the air quality about that cough makes more sense though. I had asked someone else the same questions and they mentioned it depends on the type of visa you got for the periodically checking in. I had a work visa at the time maybe that was it or maybe it was the time before tourists anyways, I mean the adidas factory just opened and they were barely getting that middle class money that is great right now. As for the Rings maybe it depends on the crowd, I purposely searched for the Vietnam war Vets meeting places to have beers with them. I should Digitize my photos into a video since most the old VC vets I found are probably dead of old age by now.
