Eileen Aldis There have been a few of those. Strangely none seem to come to mind at the moment. I bet if I asked my wife, she’d remember all kinds of colorful things.
A trip to Brighton UK on a rainy, windy day and it turned out to be the best day of the entire trip. Great video and thanks for sharing the not so perfect days 👍🏻❤️
I'm originally from Pärnu but I've been living in the UK for the last 6.5 years and I think this is the first ever travel vlog I've seen in my hometown, so thank you for that. As someone who grew up there, trust me when I say winter and summertime in Pärnu are like night and day. I genuinely love visiting in the summer months when the days are super long, all the parks are pretty and green, and the town is generally a lot more alive. You can take walks by the sea and the river on the paths that are all relatively new, you can just go to the beach and sunbathe (provided that the weather allows it), or stroll around the areas near Mudaravila (The mud baths), Ammende Villa and Munamägi (the little hill near town centre) where a lot of the peak resort town era architecture can be seen. Every time I am actually quite sad to leave, especially since I only make it back roughly twice a year, there is always something new for me to discover. But whenever I go back during Christmastime, it's a completely different place. The place feels like a ghost town, and as we are located right by the sea, our winters to tend to be (but not always) super windy and miserable, especially lately when there seems have been a significant lack of an actual proper cold winter with snow. Hope you're continuing to enjoy your trip, best of luck with your future locations! I've been enjoying your vlogs very much and will continue to live vicariously through them. (And definitely give Pärnu another go if you're ever in the area again and the time of year happens to be around July or August, hahaa)
Hello! That's cool you're from Pärnu - I'm glad you wrote with all these recommendations. Thank you for that ❤️We'd love to return in the summer, which I'm sure is lovely. How do you find the weather in the UK vs your hometown? Whereabouts do you live now? I hope your next trip home is wonderful and I'm delighted to know you're enjoying our videos :)
Kaidi K my grandmother was born in Pärnu, and some of my family is still there.. I was lucky enough to visit in July. So it was a pretty good day to visit the beach. It really is wonderful there.. the museum and independence square were also really cool to see!
….One of your funniest videos I think. A bad road trip? Maybe….But life’s trials test you and shape you. I love the fact that you both just…..BE. Wherever you are….With whatever you have…..You both understand….. It’s enough to be happy.
I’m sitting in a waiting room as my car is being repaired ... and I’m literally laughing out loud!! I’m visiting Estonia this summer. I hope I have better luck. I just have to say, you two are the cutest, happiest couple EVER!!!
Hey Todd! This makes my day! Thank you so much!! That's awesome you're visiting Estonia and I'm sure summer would be a better time for the beach at Pärnu ;) Also the story about your recent road trip sounded gripping! I'm glad you made it back safely and totally understand when you say you almost cried from relief (sometimes I actually cry from relief haha). Driving in crazy conditions is so stressful!
Btw, such potholes can develop in just one season if it's rainy enough. This warm winter has been horrible for Estonian countryside roads and it will cost a ton to fix them all as we're a sparse country and have a lot of such back-roads. And Pärnu - it's such a popular resort town in the summer that many Estonians don't even want to visit it during the season because of the crowds (and because of our local Jersey Shore kind of people). There are also a ton of Finnish tourists and pensioners in the summer, so clerks in the old town will often greet you in Finnish.
That's interesting. We have a huge problem in Canada with our extremely cold weather that the roads crack etc during the winter and then need to be repaired again in the summer in an endless seeming cycle. We joke that Canada has only two seasons: winter and construction. 😂 I didn't know Pärnu is so popular with Finns so thanks for sharing that. It makes sense as Finland is so close (you'll see in our videos our journey led us to Estonia from Finland via Russia). Would love to see it again in better weather :)
You guys really didn’t have much luck that day, but still fun to watch as you always seem to be enjoying yourselves. Hopefully you found some attractions that were open back in Tallinn.
haha thanks, Shaun! The kitchen in our apartment was still open by the time we got back to Tallinn ;) Despite a series of fails, we had so many laughs and ended up having fun anyway. Just one of those days!

Revisiting this episode from early this year. Very true on the "life is like a road trip, you can't really avoid the potholes" sentiment. Also for Your umbrella that kept flipping inside & out was too funny. Love the "Parnu umbrella" twirling up on the viewing platform in the rain.
You & Marc are so great together; indeed, at least not all potholes in life can be avoided. Sharp circles for a bummer road trip to the bog; Loved the Aloha sign at the beach, despite the rain. The umbrella turned inside-out was hilarious, while it was able to stay that way, then it didn't. Sometimes, one just has to find the things to laugh at in life, or we'll go nuts. The "Mary Poppins" imitation wasn't too bad, despite being done in the dark and a cold dark rainy moment there in Estonia. The finding of the Church there in Parnu, Estonia that Catherine the Great commissioned was fascinating. Very cool, too bad you couldn't see it all during the day, to see the insides of that church from 1768. I enjoyed seeing what your adventures were, throughout this video.
Hi Kevin! Yep, I love that old line 'laugh so you don't cry' - so true! ;) Thankfully it ended up being a hilarious day where we just had to laugh at how many things went wrong. You're right about the churches - would have been cool to see inside, of course, but at least we still got to see them! The part at the beach with the umbrella still makes me laugh 😂
Lol, typical nordic weather. Great to show the behind the scenes fails, but sorry, I can't help laughing through this one. Epic fail for sure :) What the heck, I'm crying over the Mary Poppins dance Lol I'm saving this one! Brilliant episode guys. James and Kim
hahah I'm glad you laughed through this one! We laughed through the whole day, as you can see 🤣Apparently I'm moved to sing in Estonian bogs and dance at Estonian beaches...! ;)
You & Marc were so hilarious in this one, "We want a bog, We want a bog, ,(not a whole lot of logs)." Marc's "Follow the pothole road" was equally hilarious, lol. Between that and the very dysfunctional umbrella, you put the silver lining in your trip while you were in Estonia while it was cold, rainy, and everything. You both are too funny sometimes, hahaha. At the very end of the video during your two-hour drive back to Talinn, I've got to imagine you were both really tired from a very long day that day & so ready to just go to sleep when you got to your room where you were staying.
Loved the humour and funny moments during your road trip. Clearly a few fails but that was only expectations made a little funnier because of the weather. You went with it, had fun, shared the moments and as always left us wanting more. Looking forward to your return visit. BTW loved the umbrella dance - made me think of the classic film Singing in the Rain.
haha thanks! We still had fun despite the day not turning out as we thought. SUCH good laughs and the part at the beach at the umbrella still makes me laugh ;)
Talk about making lemonade from lemons! This could be your funniest video yet! Yet again, you guys are the most optimistic couple I can imagine. I loved the broken umbrella dance in the rain. You cracked me up when trying to go sight-seeing after hours in Parnu, and you said outside of the closed St. Elizabeth Church, "At least we get to see it from the outside." Hllarious! Of course, that can be said of a million buildings everywhere you go!
hahah thanks, Linda! Sightseeing in the rain, after dark, when everything is closed might not be ideal BUT...at least we saw something and still had fun! ;)
To borrow a lyric from a song-- "I've got sunshine on a cloudy day"...that is you two personified. Taking the mishaps in stride and smiling and laughing ..just one thing I love about you two! I hope your trip back to Tallinn was smoother! Hehe you can't tell that rental is for tourists with "Visit Estonia" printed on it hehehe!!
aww I love that song, Scott! Thank you :) The day did NOT go as planned and we couldn't help but laugh 😂 The drive back to Tallinn was uneventful...which we were grateful for! ;)
Really weird to see my hometown from someone elses perpective :-D But yeah, Pärnu is a summer capital of Estonia. At summer theres tons of people partying from central to the beach area, musicians on street, allsorts of events etc.
I have been there almost same time as you, parunu is cute city. I want to visit there again. And kumamon umbrella is so cute. Kumamon is actually from Japan 😊🥰 I hope I can watch new video soon.
You two are awesome so laid back and Mark is so funny so patient I could just imagine my husband he states that he just loves to travel but everything has to be perfect otherwise he complains all the time and here I watch you take everything in stride so oh I just love you 😍
haha thank you! These days happen and we feel lucky if it's the kind of things we can laugh about later! Makes for a good story 😉The more things went wrong this day it just got funnier and funnier to us 😂

Oh you have been so spared from unfortunate trips if this was the worst. Car didn't break, no-one got poisoned or had diarrhea, lost keys to snow, nobody froze or got robbed and you didn't even run over a rabbit. Pretty succesful day in my books. Such little adversities won't stop you two laughing! I suppose, now you must take that umbrella to be fixed. So much trouble seen, no sense to waste it now.
hahah at least this day was one we could still laugh about! ;) Sounds like you've had some road trips that made for good memories too! Oh that poor umbrella...it doesn't owe us anything but so sad it broke :P
I ended up getting a parking ticket, then going to court to fight said ticket (because no visible signs were at the scene) just to go fetch a $5 umbrella I'd left at work, so your $20 cab ride to pick up your umbrella is relatable.
"Life is like a road full of potholes, you can't avoid them" honestly the wisest thing i have ever heard! haha. Estonia looks very dull, is the weather always like this? and what time of the year would be a good time to visit this country? and haha that umbrella! this vlog is so real haha! great work!
haha the umbrella had a mind of its own :P Yeah, the weather in this part of Europe is very grey in winter time. I've heard people suggest that summer is the best time to visit. ☀️
