In the White or Rusted should be the next song... Both have crushing riffs and powerful choruses that embody that album and their sound, those songs are some of my absolute favorites because they have so many layers and the drum and bass grooves are especially chunky and perfectly compliment the rest of the song. Both are amazing, In the White is my favorite Katatonia Song and has such a powerful chorus, but Rusted is amazing and more riff based. Take your pick!! you guys are my favorite reaction channel ❤🙌
I’m glad you mentioned Deftones, they are my Swedish Deftones for sure. Katatonia is awesome. I’d check out ‘In the White’ or ‘Leaders’ next. I think you’d like them.
Dope reaction you guys. So “Foresaker” came out some years after “July” on their album “The Day and then the Shade”, I want to say around ‘09. This was the first song I ever heard from them during that time and I've been a fan of them ever since.
I've always loved this album, i did a drum cover of this song back in like... 2010? I think it's still on my profile here somewhere. I remember the drummer of Katatonia actually commenting on the vid and making my month haha
Awesome. Maby you have seen ive been yapping about Katatonia before in comments. Its because they sound different on every album so one song is not enough to find their sound. This is Opeth level shaite....... Keep it up and go further down this rabbit hole ❤ Maby try out Hypnone from Dead End Kings album 🤘🤘🤘
That album is the best album from the, great cold distance is a strong second. But night is the new day will always be my fave. Try "rusted" the drumming is amazing
@6:05 Yeah, ''You’ve Seen the Butcher'' has that meaty sound, how ironic is that :D So, you want meaty, powerful, sludgy riffs? Then try some Isis band songs. Great production, amazing guitar work, bass and drums, atmospheric soundscape with brutal & clear vocals.. fuckin' great band.
I've heard a few albums from this band now, and I know I like to listen to them in the background. The pretty chill vibe they have even in their heavier stuff is enjoyable...but overall I can't really be fully satisfied. With a lot of their songs, I feel like it ends abruptly, I want it to be a little heavier, or there just isn't a strong enough instrumental aspect to it. I really like their newest album. It has a nice groovy, progressive feel. But I think it sounds a little different from everything before it. You guys might enjoy Colossal Shade or Drab Moon.
@@darkphoenix2 Yeah if you enjoyed Katatonia, but wasn’t quite satisfied I was going to suggest listening to Opeth. I’ve been listening to Opeth since BWP and only recently been listening to Katatonia and do enjoy Katatonia as well.
Very underrated band. They can do anything.

In the White for sure, also my favorite!
@@Aj66602 It's a perfect song, so so well orchestrated 🙏
This whole album is amazing, every song is great 🤘🏻
It's not just good, it's fucking awesome!!!! It's KATATONIA !!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

In the White!! 🤍
Love Katatonia! You should check out Liberation, and Day and then the shade
Liberation ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This album is their best, in my opinion. Followed by The Fall of Hearts.
Listen to the whole album, such a masterpiece!
Uff guys.
Check out SOEN.
Martin Lopez play the drums (Ex Opeth Drummer)
I suggest Lotus.
for my demons

Katatonia - The Racing Heart
One of the saddest songs I ever heard in my whole life ! Powerful and emotional

Anything from 2003 onwards from this band is amazing
“No way they did that to us; they did do that to us.” 🤣

This is the opening track on the album right after the album July was on.

Do you listen to Opeth? That might be the answer.
@@NZWozza Opeth is my favorite band. What is the answer, exactly?

@@NZWozza Take a look at their playlist. They have done like 20 Opeth reactions so far 🤘
@@DrMcKay66 haha yeah I know the channel is a big fan, I meant Dark Pheonix.
Katatonia opened with this when I saw them with The Ocean & Cellar Darling last November, and THEIR SET WAS FLAWLESS!
