Thanks so much for part 2 Roger!.
I watched part 1 a number of times but was still a little mystified TBH. But now I'm starting to get it I think. Allow me to pinpoint the clarification and its quite simple really.
The coiled fibre is called the 'amplifier' and this has always confused me as I couldn't comprehend how any amplification or gaining of energy was happening in there. Like, its just a coil of fibre(special fibre, granted.) But then you described the coil as an 'Accumulator or a Capacitor'. Bing! Lightbulb moment!
(Or should that be flash bulb moment?:)
All my life an Amplifier has been an active component. But really the coil of fibre is just a medium to gather the photons and keep them bouncing back and forth. The coil does not amplify, it stores. How confusing! So my take away has really been the understanding of the coil, the time scale you mention is straightforward enough to comprehend. But the accumulation of photons inside the coil, now we are talking!!!
Thanks again for the super vid.

The amplifying section (coil fibre), is this fibre a dope fibre which amplifiers the light (photons).

Could a laser like this be used to deep engrave a hex shape in the head of a custom bolt to use a allen key in it?

so the diffrence betwin 30w fiber and 24 kw is mili second and billion mili second

Video is great. Thank you. Could you explain a bit more how seed laser diode is initiating an laser beam to be released?
