Well, that coaching was bad. Where was Becky Hammon? A bench full of players and Reeve would not sub in the 1st and 2nd quarter. Did she think she was back in Minnesota? Putting the game close. Thank God for street basketball from Kahleah.
They were struggling to score the entire game and who stayed anchored to the bench? The all-time single-season scoring record holder and the all-time career scoring record holder.
Let's face it. To me, this should be the most hilarious and failed olympic gold medal match ever. Silly mistakes, incredibly low field goals, and that concluded that this was a simply a game of free-throws. Both teams needs to rethink themselves after this game.

Salute to the American coach who resisted the pressure to put Carlin on the team. Caitlin would have destroyed the team spirit and America would have lost
If the American team had someone that could make some 3 pointers, things could have been much easier. If only they could have someone like Clark. Cough Cough
@Ace-bk2ed If you really watch the style of play during that game, then you have no doubt why Caitlin Clark should not have been nowhere near that court. Cough cough.
Dinosaur Taurasi’s value to the team was her leadership role and thus deserved her sixth gold medal? Taurasi was a DNP (did not play) in the gold medal game. And in the last five games, she was a starter and contributed a TOTAL of 4 points for the 5 games she played. Team USA needed a player that will contribute in winning the games. That is the roster for. It is not for leadership. Taurasi wasted a slot in the roster. That slot should have been given to Caitlin Clark who is the best point guard in the WNBA with the most number of assists and has average of 17 points per game and 7 rebounds per game.
Caitlin Clark would have gotten destroyed out there. She's weak against physical play. International play is far more physical than anything she's ever faced. She would have set a record for most turnovers that would have stood for decades.

We should have lost this.........At least a draw. The last 10 second of this game is a deep contrast to Steph closing his game against France..... We let Williams shoot 2 uncontested shot, and frankly, the last one is about a foot to be a 3 pointer. Any coach knows, last 10 second of plays, 4 points ahead, you foul the player on the floor and you come up with 2 points, but no.....instead of doing that, let Williams catch and shoot a 3.....Then they foul the US team again, we drill both FT, and now, let's have an open court and not press on the last 3 seconds, and then William drill another FG. Only luck means that she was half a foot into the line...... And then remind me why we bring Taurasi along? So she can have a DNP on the final??

@gilliancox340 the issue here is Reeve probably didn't factor in both Wilson and Steward went cold, which is what the first half was, both can't shoot nor pass, the problem is who you gonna sub? Reeve used a combination of Collier, Griner and Thomas, but still no good, since Griner is too slow, Thomas is more on a defensive role and Collier is probably the only one scored a few bucket. The rest are all guard. Reeve problem for rotation come from lack of depth, the team need a good power forward in case both Steward and Wilson went cold, that wont be Clark tho, but leaving Gray and Taurasi in the spot mean they can't bring a post player

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 aww poor thing, you don't understand basketball😬
France like most international teams put 5 out and shoot 3's. Not going to get too many fouls doing that.
USA Soccer did the right thing, selected young players, looking to the future and won Gold doing it. They could have taken Alex Morgan as a leader. USA media celebrating D Tauris 6th Gold medal and her leadership total BS. If only CC was French.
The international GOAT
Congratulations Team USA.
A good argument for Caitlin Clark to have been on the Olympic team.
Caitlin could not have handled that rough play. Reeve did not sub. Best players were sitting on the bench.
Tight matchup...just like the track events.
USA Women's Team needed a miracle to win.
What 🙄
@@teodoroquindara7583 miracle lmao they lead the entire game and haven’t lost a game since 1992 France needed a miracle to even compete
@@JohnWick-m5h France needs to give us back the 14 points from those 14 turnovers. Still tick off at Reeve for letting the first and second quarters go without going to the bench. But they only had two weeks, so we will accept the goal. The Celtics young coach can be a good head coach for the women. He knows how to go the bench.
@@JohnWick-m5hWhat you say is false. The US didn't lead the entire game. France had led by 10 points : At 7 minutes and 5 seconds of the third quarter, France had 35 points and the US 25 points. From the second half onwards, the game was very close, played almost exclusively on free throws. I think the US didn't even manage to extend the lead by more than 6 points from that point on. France managed to equalize and even when the US had managed to create a 4-point gap with 11 seconds to go, France managed to almost come back, losing by just 1 point.
I also believe that if France had guarded their players better at certain moments and attacked the basket more to get some free-throws, they could have won
@@JohnWick-m5h If you think the US was leading the whole game, you must be drunk or suffering from severe tiktok brain. Almost had the choke of the decade, esp minus C.C. The aftermath would have been epic.
Imagine the refs giving the US women the gold. Bad calls all around
Give me a break. French team was hanging all over the US. Resulted in a lot of fouls but they also got a lot of turnovers. Can't have it both ways.
First womens game this olympics I actually watched. I really don't like USA's style of play. All 1 on1 isolations and drives. That being said, without naming names, they'll be better in 4 years. Much better.
There is no way you do not play Griner. She was a total mismatch down low. Shes big and tall and has inside moves. That to me was the craziest shyt.
I'm French and I was glad your coach let her on the bench ! I agree with you : she was doing damage inside the paint.
After not taking the best team available they dodged a bullet.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
D Taurasi got her 6th Gold medal, that all that matters. She was injured before she left the USA, that's why they took her, just to get a 6th Gold medal. BS
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! AMERICAS BEST
Bro Vegas really banked of both USA spreads last game
Catastrophic if US lost.Margin would have been bigger if Clark was there contributing in assist & shooting.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Didn’t watch, no Caitlin Clark, but expected a 20+ point win. France made it a game, was it a bake off? We won gold but gave up our dominance, looked a bronze team out there. Lost the 3 on 3 to Spain? Do the balls bounce differently in Europe? Embarrassing, who decided to leave Clark off this team?
Congrats team USA ladies
Got to be the worst US womans basketball team ever assembled. Put a number of past their prime players on it and it showed
That the media is avoiding the obvious is hilarious.
To think the US had 12 professional NBA players on the team (like the men's) compared to 4 on the French, why is the USA always allowed to stack their team with Pros. They should of smoked France, nothing to be proud of.
@user-ef4kk1no2u Well, this time, they thought it would be a walk in the park, so they kept over the hill players that aren't very good anymore, so that those players could more medals and that greedy move almost lost them the gold
So I guess CC fans probable upset that the USA team did not need her to win gold 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Don't worry...Diana Taurasi will be in the Olympics in years. Everything was about politics with this team.
Clark would’ve been there if that was true.
Dinosaur Taurasi was born in LA so she has to play in 2028 LA Olympics 😂
Taurasi could have played. She can still carry a game. I have seen all of USA team play and all of those ladies selected can carry a game. Reeve and her staff messed up.
@@keturahwomack6542If I understand the politics - they were about letting the old players get another Gold... And it almost failed...
@CodyCha I didnt realize she was from LA. Whether she's in the league or not she will be there because she will going for a record 7th gold.
The world was awaiting Caitlyn Clark's logo 3s .. and somehow USA women's basketball denied them this.. for the flimsiest of reasons.. It could have been a world event ... Not just a basketball game..
If we have C. Clark and Angel Reeves, we would have won easily.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just Wht we need some randoms talking about the game not the actual highlights yes !!
@@mc76 I don't know what Reeve was thinking. Thomas came in and they were up 9 and Reeve still would not sub the others to help Alyssa carry the game.
Barely made it 🤣
They won and u can kiss the gold medal. 😂😂😂
@@sumiwong2551 if that's call winning... thats sad.
Congratulations to our Ladies!
yeah they are so lucky
it was just one point 😢😢😢😢
Let's face it. To me, this should be the most hilarious and failed olympic gold medal match ever. Silly mistakes, incredibly low field goals, and that concluded that this was a simply a game of free-throws. Both teams needs to rethink themselves after this game.
Good thing they have four more years to do that....Bro, there will be a different team every Olympics.
Yeah, they did themselves no favors in terms of garnering respect for women's basketball. In basements all over America right now, incels are gleefully typing misogynistic screeds about women's sports.
Aja Wilson is the AD of the Team USA women's team
USA won, even when not playing their best.
it was not also the maximum for french team !
lollll the french didn't played their best at all also
@@lucian6857 You are in your own country with advantage no excuse.
@@cutemat75 It wasn't our maximum either.
@@lucian6857 You loss get over it. 8 straight.
I wouldn't be beating my chest to much u come from a country with 330 million people and you won by 1 point against a country with 40 million in these game country size matters. I would call that a win for France in the first half it was a tie, and then france went up by 10. You have all those players in the usa and u won by 1. lol whatever
Yes french is better than USA incredible ! do you know Wembi?
Yes u guys should have won but the size of ur country is irrelevant- your mentality is the issue- Americans believe we will win all the time- it’s a black American trait- the other blacks around the world don’t carry the same confidence
U need an update : France has 68M inhabitants.
By your logic, India and China should have been playing for gold medal. Real big brains you have.
330 million citizens. on the floor were only 5 players. What's the difference?
Thanks to the umpire. It's a shame.
I hope we don’t use not even one of USA women in 2028. France is not even good and we did not use it to our advantage. These women or coaches on USA should not be on the 2028 team in LA . Please don’t let us see these USA women or coaches come back. They were sloppy.
Aja Wilson was good (in the second half).
True, France is not good at Basketball. Their women and men are magnificent ! They played their hearts out, and those silver medals are worth gold.
I'm waiting for Clark to play. Nope didn't watch it
Lee Ronald Lewis Sandra Miller Maria
Salute to the American coach who resisted the pressure to put Carlin on the team. Caitlin would have destroyed the team spirit and America would have lost
yeah you funny they was so lucky that they won
If the American team had someone that could make some 3 pointers, things could have been much easier. If only they could have someone like Clark. Cough Cough
Clark is shooting under 33% from 3 cough cough. She also set the record for most turnover in a season cough cough!
@Ace-bk2ed If you really watch the style of play during that game, then you have no doubt why Caitlin Clark should not have been nowhere near that court. Cough cough.
She’s overrated. You probably don’t even watch basketball.
You angered the black racists again.
They got Sabrina and plum
Why is coverage so bad that we can't get a fn highlight reel omfg!
NBC has the license. Try NBC/Peacock posts
THE AMERICAN TEAM WOULD HAVE DONE BETTER IF THEY HAD CAITLYN CLARK!!!!!
They'll have a better team in 4 years. The new crop of US women players are amazing.
That was too close for comport
Taurasi is not the coach. Bad coaching.
Caitlin Clark would have gotten destroyed out there. She's weak against physical play. International play is far more physical than anything she's ever faced. She would have set a record for most turnovers that would have stood for decades.
@@geezerpleasers_OG Yes, the sumo wrestlers from France were hitting hard. Even the big ladies on the US were stunned with the physical play. Poor girls ended up in a dog fight but won anyway.
That slot belonged where it was. The US won without Caitlin and we did not need Caitlin. Get it straight. WE WON WITHOUT CAITLIN AND HER FANS. Look to your Right, HERE COMES THE US GOLD WINNERS.
You mean the refs defeat France for the US to help them steal the gold from France. If you know the game, watch it again and you will see what I'm talking about.
worst basketball match ever seen in my life, first half in particular. The final shot was apparently fouled with both hands by US, should be a N1 call but it is quite weird the coach didn't call for a challenge. Refs made history, US can't win without those freethrow and bad calls.
NBA champ Jason Tatum also had a DNP this tournament.
@leifanthony8182 Yeah but Tatum was actually useful when he come out and play.
What did Taurasi did at all thru the tournament?
@@cosplayshop The france was better in 3 points , and better than USA.
@cutemat75 both side shoot for shit at this game.

Anyway, Congratulations to our team and the USA ladies. Job well done. It was a dog fight but you cannot outrun a DAWG.
She was fouled on that last shot

Retire Reeves. The club looks old and tired with poor performance from the Guards. Bring in the new blood - Arike Ogunbowale, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese - to speed up the game
Yet we were ALL cheering for france, even though it's france! But wish they had beaten team USA

Hope the selection committee learned their lesson and sends the best 12 players next time.
Nonsense. The issue here was the coaching. US did not send the right coaches. Reeve could have sub in the first and second when she got in trouble. She had the best players on the bench.
