Thank you for the support!
Nice and comprehensive review. Just one note - Aram introduced a new version last year with a very nify pressure gauge - not a dial, but protruding rings in the axle. Maybe not as precise as other, but you can see the pressure within 1 bar tolerance.
Your delivery is organic, honest, and thorough. Definitely a fan. Side note, the SOFI is quickly becoming one of my favorite brewers!
A grind size gauge would be pretty hilarious tho hahaha
I like how you do things good info and good humor
Ah the genius and simplicity of the robot
Great review, my Rota is on the way.
Looks quite a bit like the Aram manual espresso maker from Brazil. Curiously, it was the similarity between the names of that coffee maker and this channel's that first brought me here. Great video as usual!
Indeed it does. We even compare the two in this video :)
Oh my goodness, I put off watching this video for so long bcuz I thought it was just another hand grinder, this is so interesting
Great video! Production value is amazing
The Rota 2 will compliment a Kinu M47 grinder nicely, which I adore. This appeals to me more than Flair or Robot. Great job with the review.
That said Kazak also do their own grinder which grinds directly into the portafilter
@@KNURKonesur yup it’s call the Tura 3 and we have one. We may do a short review on that soon.
The only downside for me is the preheating. Having own the flair signature, being able to preheat your brewhead + portafilter while also heating your brew water is awesome, it's a life and timesaver. I'd say if you own a normal espresso machine, this would be a great collection piece.
This video is amazing!!
preheating 4 times would definitely be a deal breaker for me
Great review! Glad I discovered your channel. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Leverpresso Pro if you haven't done a review already.
I think it looks cool. However, preheating seems to be a pain. I have both the Flair Neo and the Robot and never went back to the Flair Neo after the Robot arrived. The Robot workflow is much better than anything else out there, no preheating, no fuss, easy to clean, no handling hot metal, no issues. I have a OE Pharos 1.1 and it shakes right into the Robot's basket. Every shot is delicious and can go from zero to espresso in the hand in 5 minutes.
wow, this is clever.
I'm keeping my sep-fitted Flair 58, but this was a great review!
Haha fair. I’m pretty sure the SEP will fit on this but didn’t wanna break it before the review. :)
I feel like the biggest advantage with the flair is the ability to preheat your chamber on the kettle rather than fill up method. Is this one able to withstand the heat if you placed it on the kettle?
Have you tried to clean up the shower screen?? It seems like it needs to be cleaned once in a while but I can’t quite figure out how to disassemble the shower screen.
Gorgeous! Do you think you could preheat it on top of a boiling kettle like the Flair?
We thought about it too but you’d probably mess up the gauge. Wouldn’t be great for the leather either. We didn’t want to risk it before doing the review but may try some of this stuff now :)
What a monster. I wonder if you could set it into a shallow pan of simmering water to keep it warmed up in the event of having to make a lot of shots.
I had the exact same thought!
Bought the carbon series unit. I don't recommend it. The portafilter basket being plastic and screwable ended up being a point of frustration in my experience. The basket was extremely stuck when it arrived and I wasn't able to separate them. Not sure if something got damaged in transit from Poland, but it was extremely frustrating on my end that I couldn't even use the product before wanting to return it. It's not worth the effort to almost damage it and then try and return it. I don't know what happened. Extremely disappointed.
how it compare with the nomad?
God I love this, but I'm in the light espresso camp and also don't want to shell out hundreds of dollars.
How much money am I willing to spend so that I can go camping, take this out in the morning, and have everyone staring at me, bewildered? ... maybe I should just go with a Bripe.
Bripe all the way! And some powdered guarana mixed with your cereal to save carrying a grinder and brewing device :D
@@KNURKonesur I have Comandante and a south Indian filter so traveling is no problem :P it's what I take when I go camping, sometimes a moka pot.
Caffeine has almost no effect on me so coffee is purely for the enjoyment and workflow. Guarana is a great idea for people who need the energy though!
That's exactly how you read kribli-grabli :)
So fun to say :)
I question the longevity of that tamper. Eventually, it will be loose
Honestly should be fine for a long time but even if it got super loose that still wouldn’t affect the quality of the tamp.
Unfortunately, the stand doesn’t fit for any scale. We can’t control the yield precisely.
The lunar and even some of the cheaper scales do fit below, albeit at a weird angle. Still gets the job done though.
@@aramse i see… i’ve checked the video again.
"em em" you know what a millimeter is right??
After this video i decided not to buy it. I hate that pre-heating thing.
