My great Grandfather did the same. Never spoke of what he and his pals went through. Broke his leg slipping on ice on his way to the bookmakers (betting shop) in his eighties. Never see the likes of that generation again.

Actually funny how these soldiers look more happy than almost everybody nowadays
africa has always been like these soldiers... nothing to lose, plenty of time lol makes u smile just thinkin about it lol
Damn so true
They haven't be corrupted by the negativity of modern media with its mission of fear. These boys knew and lived fear, yet still they smiled
Its because they dont give a shit about the "unimportant" stuff
They cared only for what is happening now
Perhaps my favourite scene out of the documentary, seeing them happy and having a blast.
May their legacy be eternal.
We are now the keepers of their legacy. What we do, how we vote, how we raise our kids is how we keep, remember and honour them. Are we ?
Lol, our votes mean absolutely nothing.

My great uncle was killed at the Somme we will never forget them and the sacrifice they gave up their lives.
1:26 funniest soldier of WW1 😂 RIP
My Grandfather fought in WW One.... Rarely talk about it when I was a kid. Wish he did so I had a better understanding of that war.
Gone, but! Never forgotten! RIP and thankyou to you all.
Very moving. We shall not forget them.
Excellent footage of history
This is so surreal.
If you look closely you'll see a man putting his hand out for post ,only to get none and turn around and walk away

These are not British shoulders. They are Canadian troupes . Look at the head gear!
Canada has virtually the same uniform as the U.K. and Canada wasn’t even independent until the 1920’s

How many died I wonder?
Yes. I meant of those we see on screen. War is awful
There’s a point in the film where they show a face and then cut to a photo of their dead body. It’s pretty horrible but clever how they matched up.
Well all I know is that my grand uncle died in Flanders fields
One in eight Brits or so never returned from mainland Europe.
Approximately 1 in 3 British soldiers were either wounded or killed.
They all needed dental work-it just added to their suffering.
