  • Tony Robbins VS Robots⎮Universal Basic Income. Anthony (Tony) Robbins believes A.I, software, and robots will be replacing human labor at such a high rate in the very near future that we must explore the idea of a Universal Basic Income (UBI). Self-driving vehicles are the next wave of automation to affect our country and will leave 5,000,000 truck drivers and Uber drivers unemployed within the next 5-10 years. This same idea will be applied to millions of other jobs in other sectors.
His thinking is in line with that of Presidential Candidate Andrew Yang who purposes to give every American citizen a check for $1,000 a month as part of his Freedom Dividend. This helps offset the projected job losses in our country and also creates a "trickle-up economy" which would lead to millions of jobs being created by the inflow of money into smaller rural communities.

A meaningless job is worse than staying at home and playing video games all day. If I had UBI I’d volunteer at the California Science Center.

What a great argument. People should look into the statistics of people on VA disability and make the case for a UBI in more detail.

I know that UBI is so the rich can still go the bank and et most of the benifits... But if we just get it strated we can make it our own.

The notion that meaning = paycheck I reject fully. You can find meaning in life doing things that don't pay, but all too often people get a soul-crushing job that doesn't allow them to follow that meaning or passion. If you have the UBI it gets that boot off your neck to take a nominal job to pay the bills which can give you time to pursue that passion that may never pay you. We are still tying meaning to money. If we stop doing that I think people will be happier and be able to contribute to the greater good more effectively.

Spectacular series of videos. Could you please do one explaining how the value added tax would work for the average American.
It took me several months to figure out that my family will come out way ahead. When I first heard about the tax I just thought, “wait a second, if I’m paying a new tax on everything I buy then how in the world will I come out ahead at the end of the month after I get $1000?” It took me quite a while to realize that I would have to spend $10,000 a month on technology to break even. Any spending under that and my family came out ahead, and of course factoring in my wife’s $1000 a month we would have to spend $20,000 a month to break even.
You are spectacular at explaining these policies, I would love to see you put this in a video as well so other Americans like myself can get it faster than I did.
If people could quickly understand that $500 a month in spending only adds up to $50 in extra tax but they get back $1000 per adult in a household I think a lot of people would have the same “ah ha” moment I had.
And if anyone on Andrews campaign read this comment, please tell him he needs to start explaining it this way!!!

If someone gave me $1000/m, I could stop selling all these hard drugs to the local Junior High and High School kids. I got them strung out on everything, it's hilarious... but I need money! I wouldn't even need to break into cars or houses, and mugging people downtown just to keep my dad's hospital bills paid. I could even stop going door to door tricking old ladies into buying these junky vacuum cleaners. Man, when I get that whole $1000/m... I'm gonna be so lazy! All the killing for hire is going to stop, I promise!
