      They are cool boats. Beware of the extreme gel coat crazing though on many of them.

    • @peteh8077
      @peteh8077 2 месяца назад +1

      @@BoatSnoop can the crazing lead to other damage?

    • @BoatSnoop
      @BoatSnoop  2 месяца назад

      @peteh8077 The gelcoat protects the underlying fiberglass…so potential further degradation and damage is likely to occur. I don’t see this as sudden and catastrophic, but just a slow deterioration.

    A wider lens would be great for those shots from the inside. You really want something like a GoPro set to wide or ultra wide.

    I have a 2020 Legacy.
    One: There is a lot about the 105 that is better than the Legacy.
    Two: You did an amazing job with this video. Congratulations.
    ps; What is the purpose of the vertical steel rods on either side of the salon?

    • @BoatSnoop
      @BoatSnoop  3 года назад +1

      Thank you. My guess on the rods is that they act as chain plates for the aft lower mast stays. You’ll see some boats like Beneteau’s use rods internally as well for this same purpose.

    And time stamps?! M8, fantastic walkthrough 👍👍

    • @It-b-Blair

      I’m kinda interested in them due to their price. The solid bow can be more dangerous in pitchpoling events, so that’s a thing to keep in mind (the tramps let the water flow through, where the solid deck shovels the boat deeper into a wave, especially if surfing down a wave in a storm). Most sailors I know say they are slow and low build quality 🤷‍♂️ seems awesome for the diy types though! 😸

    • @BoatSnoop
      @BoatSnoop  3 года назад

      Thank you! Yes, I figured timestamps could be useful to the viewer and it doesn’t really take that much more work. 😎

      They are cool little catamarans and are relatively affordable. Their gelcoat is a bit thin though and prone to spider cracks.

    Great review, thorough and informative... thanks. Only constructive criticism is use the word "basically" less. It is the adult equivalent to teens needlessly inserting "like" into every thing they say.

    • @BoatSnoop

      They are good little boats. They are good entry point catamarans for the price. The one weak point of Gemini’s is their lower end gelcoat…so expect crazing and cracking on the decks, but good little boats.

    Does anyone know -
    Can this boat dry out on a beach etc ??

    • @BoatSnoop
      @BoatSnoop  3 года назад

      I’m actually not sure if these can be beached or not. They are lightly built …so…I don’t think I would beach it.

    • @michaelstewart8022

      current Gemini owner here... they can be beached safely on a sandy or muddy bottom.

    stop adding yourself into the video. We don't want to see you we want to see the boat. Take a hard look at NautiStyles channel on how to conduct a tour. They are the best around.

      Different types of channels. 😁. We are showing our clients boats from smaller and older to newer and bigger. Just depends on what we get into inventory. We cover all ranges of boats 😎
