Thank you for translating into Fahrenheit and inches! I use a Husky 3120xp to mill, and my next project is cutting a 62” diameter hickory with a crotch that reconnects to the main trunk (84” diameter at that point). Your video has been the most helpful of any (and I’ve watched a lot of them)!
@@AdamTrautmanBowling @adamtrautman2873 It's only so much that torque itself can give. Hp is king in wood cutting, there's only so much resistance wood can create, after that chainspeed and hp is king. You could put a bigger sprocket on the 090, but its still a less efficient saw; hp, torque and rpm taken into account.
Thanks for the shout out bud! Its called a Protos there not cheep I have the SENA headset built in. It make a massive difference on jobs being able to talk with the guys on the ground easily, also I listen to music and answer the phone! Cheers Blaise
There are bandsaw mills cheaper than a pair of 880s...... love it! Hilarious also that you were using a ladder only as the guide. That would make SEVERAL nice tables. Great vid, color me jealous.
Thanks Rick, Yes band saw would be nice one day but a cheep bandsaw wouldn't be wide enough for the slabs I want to do.. cheers mate great to have you on the channel. Blaise
Admire your passion and patience, hopefully people watching will appreciate how much hard work and time goes into extracting beautiful slabs of timber for everyone to enjoy.
(May 23) Since then, we in England have had several weeks of drought with only 2 properly wet days, and my front lawn is going brown, and my rhubarb is flopping and is not making any fresh young leaves.
Like a blizzard. .kkkkkk lmao..we get blizzards, you can't see and lots of snow...but if you go upstate NY, they get crazy snow, places get feet of snow..by Great Lakes is insane how much snow they get
Was wondering if you ever use the helper handle on the end of your double ended milling bars? Recently got one myself aan would be great if someone had a video on setting one up. Great videos , cheers from green bay Wisconsin!
skiSrp Pre hi mate they both pull the chain but if you look there are mounted on the mill different so the work together. It’s a bit hard to explain but basically it cuts much faster. Cheers Blaise
Man that thing can make some fantastic slabs. But I'm still left with a few questions. 1, still wondering how both saws are kept in sync and 2, the saw bar spans a good distance, how do you keep from concaving your slab? I do think I might build that large but one motor.
Richard, sorry for the delay in replying to your questions somehow I missed it. You can hear when the saws are running in sync very occationly you need to stop and re sync. Yes you have to be very careful how you set the mill up to avoid bar sag. cheers Blaise
@@BlaiseBrogan did you have it specially made or is it something that Stihl regularly offers? Also how is it that one saw doesn't hinder the performance of the other saw?
Quick hack for rolling and adjusting big logs if you don't have a forklift... Screw a wood plank (2"x8"x8' or bigger) on the log perpendicular to the log, the leverage makes it easy to adjust. I've flipped 4' diameter logs easily with this method.
Double engine bar how to get it let me know I want to take but how to get I don't know what to do to call that bar I don't know please reply me show your video I like your video and subscribe your video
i am here because a yank from Oregon mentioned you..and anybody who rolls with sunglasses during a freak UK storm deserves a sub..
Ah thanks dude great to have you here Blaise

nclaytonc thanks mate glad your here and glad to help.
I have a 3120xp set up for a double head. As long as you don't hit metal, it will be a breeze. If the log is dry, keep the chain oiled. Lots of fun.
That is some serious power! No other two chainsaws in the world could done the same!!!
STIHL MS 880 POWER!!!💪💪💪
Ever heard of an 090?
@@AdamTrautmanBowling Yes I have! Lots of weight and torque, but ultimately slower... Nice saws tough!😁💪

Bandsaw that big... I'm sure they got one somewhere I never seen one.
If you can get me a bandsaw that can cut 2m width at 2x the price of this setup, I'm buying it.
Awesomeness Blaise I've a pair of 3120s ported powerful saws could you recommend where I could buy a rig like yours
Bro... if you ever make it to Oregon, USA... I'm buying you a beer.
That first cut was skillful to say the least.
Salazar Thanks mate.

You know it would really suck if one of you accidentally hit the chain break while the other person was still going
I also am in England, and we have had rain rain rain rain rain rain rain.
Is there a month where you don’t have that much rain?

Sell the off cuts to the bowl turners. They love the complex grain.
How is it possible to attach two saws to one bar like that?
