Sonic and Shadow compete for the Chaos Emeralds while Eggman has plans to use them to power his Death Ray atop the Egg Carrier. Sonic must take the fight to space and stop Shadow and Dr. Eggman from destroying the earth.
This is part of Sonic Paradox's Flash Archive. With Adobe Flash shutting down the Sonic Paradox team wanted to preserve some of the Sonic Flash animations in full 1080p. We've replaced the audio with higher quality samples as the original swf audio was highly compressed.

I would like to thank the Sonic Paradox team for contacting me about their preservation project and including me in the lineup. I think it's a great way to archive some of the best Sonic animations from the days of Newgrounds. I had a lot of fun working on this short and hope everyone still enjoys watching it. Thank you.

I couldn't stop laughing throughout the video. Sonic's fandom in 2000's was so straightforward - Sonic and Shadow are always fighting for no apparent reason, Knuckles always helps in the coolest way and Eggman is a moron.
I mean, even though this is from 2010 you're still right
I always found it a bit cringeworthy but I'm cool with it now. Clearly this is the majority's favorite stuff from the series do i can't complain

In spites of the flaws Sonic X has. You can’t deny the amount of fans of the franchise that the show created.
For this animation, I like how they tell the whole thing without any dialogue.
Also how cool would it be for Studio Trigger to do a Sonic anime?

Stuff like this back then were pure magic since it looked so official with minimal weirdness in body proportion and was made by kids and teens who only used a mouse and broken trackpads.

@@SonicThehedgehog-lh7ye Nah it's the other way around. Nazo was gonna be what sonic's super form (or maybe hyper form) was gonna look like in the season 4 trailer before they canceled it.

I never forget the pain of checking new grounds nearly everyday to see if this got uploaded. The teaser trailer was pure hype in 2006 thou.

It truly is a product of its time. I wished I had watched more videos back then but watching now made me appreciate it even more. I feel old watching this.
I love how the animation slowly got better throughout the video shows how much time this probably took
I remember the days when this was nothing but a teaser trailer, but the wait on the release was so long that I questioned if it was coming out at all.
A few years later though, I was blown away not just for the cool action scenes that I was promised, but the fact that it was one of the few animated fan projects that DIDN'T get canceled despite the long wait.
Granted I questioned why Chaos was still a bad guy when we know for sure he turned good at the end of Sonic Adventure, but aside from that plot-hole, this was STILL an amazing video to watch that the wait was more than worth it.
OMG I remember watching the 3rd act on Newgrounds, I've been searching for this for years!! I couldn't remember the title, I only remembered that it was an awesome Sonic X-inspired fan animation with Knuckles wearing a brown cloak being a badass and fighting Chaos amidst a freakin' cool fast metal music track, with Sonic turning light blue but it wasn't a Nazo short. THANK YOU for preserving this. When I saw Chaos enveloping the Master Emerald and the guitar riff at 6:10 comes in, I got HUGE nostalgia goosebumps. I'm like, this is it, I've found the video that left a huge impression on me as a 14 year-old fan back then, and now soon-to-be professional game artist who aims to make similar fan/original animations against epic music in my spare time like this.
Why haven't those Mecha Sonic type robots been drawn more by people? They look nice! O.O

Ok, I get why people talk about Sonic X, I understand it’s definitely got problems. That being said, it definitely is important and deserves to be remembered for introducing who knows how many people to the series. It definitely introduced me, and I’ve been a fan ever since. And honestly, I think there are many things the show did well. While the animation could be lacking much of the time, the artstyle was great, and matched Uekawa’s work. It had some memorable music at times, like Sonic and Knuckles’ respective motifs. It really did feel like something from the Adventure Era, and had some cool ideas and adaptions of SA1 and 2, and even Battle. Nostalgia does play a part, yes, but I think that the show deserves a little credit. It’s VERY MUCH FLAWED though. Also, I’ve never seen this animation, but it’s pretty great.
I still remember how I used to watch stuff on Newgrounds. It was amazing.

I love how so many animations from this era are just so unapologetically "dragon ball" and fall into a lot of the weird characterization things that make no sense, but there's a certain nostalgic charm to it.

Still an amazing video to this day. My only complaint is 4:48 Sonic wouldn't be able to fend off Super Shadow in his base form, but other than that, its incredible.

I sometimes left the menu on for ages, just to listen to Guilty Gear X's "Blue Water Blue Sky" on repeat, before I decided if I would watch the actual animation.
Oh wow.. Lol i actually never seen this. I remember watching the Cosmic Chase trailer years ago on newgrounds, and it played that music from the anime: Bleach but like a more techno version. It was pretty hype and how it showed the Nazo form at the end was pretty good. So this was the result? I had no idea.. *facepalm*
