I have this model, owned it since 2008.I currently have 29,000 miles on it, driving it locally and in the summer months. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, a joy to drive

I've had this car for 2 years and i'm still in love with it. it's just now nearing the 5000 mi service...i only drive in town. 6 quarts of synthetic oil is rather a lot, i'll admit, but i still love this car with every fibre of my being! Anyone who says that this car hasn't got any style, or that it's a girls car is an "infantile pollock" in the words of James May from TopGear, the best car show on earth. The guy who reviewed this hasn't a single nostalgic bone in his body.

Here's the thing. In the 1970's, there was a model called the Triple white, which was the same, except for it having an actual white top. I love the car and have so much fun driving it. Is it a sports car? Hell no. Is it fun to drive? Hell yes. And yes, I, too am a man that gets ladies with this car "Oh you drive such a CUTE car..."

the engine is in the wrong place and the dash is too big. It's also small inside? I've got an original beetle and that IS small inside, and the new beetle is no bigger. While I was getting my 1970 Bug serviced at my local W dealer I was waiting round for ages and decided to see what they were like. I just found it a bit boring and a tad small and the steering wasnt very positive. :( Expected so much more.
its made in germany, have u ever seen the commercials? its the whole logo for volkswagen, thats the power of GERMAN ENGINEERING... not thats the power of mexican engineering. my friend who lives in Mexico also stated they dont sell or do anything with beetles there anymore. all the volkswagens r put together in Mexico for shipping if thats what u meant.

How is the "triple white" focused on women? Honestly, because it's white now makes me more of a woman's car? Fact is, you are looking at the reason all the major auto makers are redesigning new cars to be like old ones. This car is a piece of automotive history. Frankly, when you call it a "chick car" the only reason I can think of you saying that for, is that you need a big engine to feel like a man. Awesome color/car combo, IMHO.
wow you must really hate cars/driving. saying all you care about a car is reliability is like saying all you care about from a girlfriend is punctuality. that's how insignificant it is. in this day and age, there really isn't a such thing as an unreliable car. the beetle is very dull, very feminine, and pretty pointless too. bottom line is that a car's job is to excite the driver, and this car doesn't do that.
