Kudos for actually taking care of your car!!...there are so many you tubers that do burnouts immediately out of the dealerships with a couple miles on the odometer!..its just makes me cringe when I see it!!
Thanks for the honest and real review! I can never tell if people are just thinking it makes a difference but it is pretty clear what it does here lol. I'm definitely interested in my own throttle controller now...
Just got mine installed Yesterday, and drove around for a couple hours, trying it out. It's GREAT! When I saw the look on your face, and the same whoa-ho-ho you got on your first Procharger pull, I had to get one...
Just got mine installed today. Very nice!! Even the eco mode was cool. Couldn't really test it out cause of all this rain in SoCal. Who said it never rains in Southern California?!
Bought my Camaro last week and installed the VTC today. You were spot-on about the installation being a bit difficult with regard to accessing the electronics behind the gas pedal. I'm kind of tall also (6'5") and had to twist into positions that I didn't think I could. After finishing the installation, I learned why the VTC is kind of expensive for what it is... because it's WORTH IT. Setting the controller to SP5 made a night-and-day difference in how the car responds.
From everything I've read, No. But I'll ask the service guys at the dealer in Tuesday when I take it in for the recall. Also, I did the install the hard way. It is FAR easier to install by simply unbolting the gas pedal (one 10mm bolt), slide it back an inch, and lift it out. Then you can easily plug in the VTC.
Great channel man! I'm looking into possibly buying a 2016 SS come May/June, either that or a Scat Pack. Just trying to get as much info on these cars as I can so I'm glad I found your channel! Keep up the videos man!
+RP Productions Guy i work with has a brother that works at a dealership that sells all makes and he claims the mopar vehicles come in the most often for electrical issues so there you have it for your choice.
+RP Productions when our state troopers complain about the Chargers and my friends and coworkers who owned mopar have nothing nice to say about them then that's enough reason for me to not buy one. Ford or gm are brands I can trust.

I was going to get my throttle body ported, headers, catch can, and headers but when I called the place back asking about the pedal commander they tried to talk me out of it smh. I'm like i don't need all of that with the p c. What's your opinion??
Thanks Sledgie! I didn't know such an item existed. How does this device plug in? Duh, I did a search and found it. Plugs into the harness for the accelerator pedal. So, WOT isn't changed and total power isn't changed, just throttle response towards WOT?
Are you still have the Vitesse Throttle Controller on your car? If not why did you remove it and did you ever have any problems with it? Thank in advance for the update......
I was thinking to myself the other day about the throttle lag and how when it's in "performance shift mode" you seem to get that power right away and no lag. that's what I wanted but all the time. I'm assuming this is a fix that removes the lag of waiting for the engine to kick in and go? I think this might be my next mod then.
Are you still using the controller, and what setting is normally used? I'd be worried about light touches on the gas when in parking lots and around pedestrians.
Does your SS have driving modes stock like the mustang GT... Normal.. sport... Raining/snow etc Which mainly changes throttle response n traction control
@@Lethalgarage my bad I worded it wrong.. U are correct steering, throttle etc Was just making sure if I bought some thing like this it would make a difference n not just be a waste of money due to the fact I could switch the driver mode n get a faster throttle response
Is it getting rid of the so-called lag or is it just increasing the %throttle commanded for the same pedal position? If it is the latter then this is a waste of money.
+John Glaviano In general it's a tune that will be based on how your car performs on a dyno. Overall the best tune is one that logs data from real world driving.
Nice vid I’m looking to get a camaro. I’m use to driving a Nissan Altima but when I revd the camaro the throttle seemed much less sensitive. Would you recommend this mod for a new buyer of the camraro?
I just got mines from someone from Gen 6 Camaro forums; it's currently being shipped. I'm curious though, what's the difference between Vitesse and JMS? JMS cost alot more at retail price.
So it makes it more responsive but is power delivery linear? Like does the % of throttle corresponds to how much you're pushing the pedal or is 100% power right away?
MrPotato16: Someone (Engineering Explained?) did a video showing a graph of throttle response - stock & Vitesse in SP9. The stock graph showed almost none for the first 5-10% and a trough in the 35-60% range - set by factory for emissions and fuel economy. The Vitesse was absolutely linear - like the cable throttles of bygone days...
i just bought the RS/1lt v6 i was impressed with how well it ran.. does this thing actually make a difference? i think i might pick one up here this week

+Brian Knox Factory intake is limiting on the SS, not sure about the LT. When I was at the dyno, we opened the stock air box up and did a run and saw a 20HP increase. these engines want more air.
Thx for the review! Does it mislead the nanies on the car and potentially put you in dangerous situation due to that? Also what about the warranty since need to be recognize (recorded?) by the ECU as per installation procedure? Thanks
The device isn't changing the ECU, so no change is recorded. it simply changes how quickly the voltage on the stock pedal is sent. so instead of mashing on your pedal to go, you barely have to hit the pedal at all.
+John Glaviano It can be. But if you tune the ECU's throttle control, you really have no need for this. If they leave the throttle control untouched you can get this. But you're buying a tune, you should ask them to adjust the ecu and throttle control.
Also I know you're still in the honeymoon phase of ownership but how crazy bad is the visibility really? Does it drive you nuts or do you get used to it?
I don't get the complaints of visibility. I can see out and around and behind out of all windows. yes it has blond spots, but so does my other car. maybe it is just short people with issues?
Mathew Everett That's great to hear. I've yet to sit in one but that's the first thing any one ever says. From what I've read it sounds like it's going to be a reliable car. They even thought of putting in a air/oil separator. Not something a lot of companies have bothered with doing yet.
+Saniel Dingleton They did put nice rear alerts and cross traffic sensing and side mirror blind spot indicators. so... if you do have issues seeing, the tech side covers you.
+Saniel Dingleton the camaro has terrible blind spots compared to a sedan or truck you gotta realy tilt your head and im 6.0ft. the window pillar in front blocks visability too so you need to watch out for pedestrians or traffic coming to the side but its a sacrifice you take for having a cool camaro. In my honesty get the new 16 models the interior is much better and the car is lighter, i love my 12 camaro but chevy didnt really add any new tech in it.
Rodriguez123 Rodriguez Thanks for the info. I'm going to wait until a couple used ones come on the market and then I might snatch one up. I work from home so it would purely be a weekend cruiser.
+Lethalhammer so since installing mine, I immediately had a dead battery with a check engine light (voltage from ecu & another code I forgot). I wrote Vitesse and he said just drive it and the CEL will turn off after 5 starts... which it did. 3 days later, dead battery and another CEL (same codes as before)
+k3v1n You know, a guy on Camaro6.com reported the same issue. Mine is running fine no issues... not sure what might be going on. maybe try the programming again?
+Lethalhammer yeah, I'm probably that same person. I called Ahmed with Vitesse... he advised to remove harness and see if I have any CEL or battery issues for a week. I had 0 issues prior to the harness... in between these processes I Uninstalled and reprogrammed the harness
+Lethalhammer , If you're referring to the post about the reduced engine power notification, that would be me. I reprogrammed the controller and all is well. I believe I may have incorrectly programmed it from the get go.
so is it essentially telling the ecu that you are flooring the car when you aren't? is that how it's speeding it up? that would explain why actually flooring the throttle makes the difference go away.
How tall are you? Looking to buy this car but not sure how I will measure up inside it, we're about the same body type. Thanks man and great freaking car!
"Break-ins" aren't really needed on today's engines. Manufacturers put it there just to cover their butt in case a bolt falls off or the software fails etc.
well I couldn't wait. Car still driving fine(to the best of my knowledge). When the engine finally was broken in, my camaro sounded louder and responded more aggressively. there is really a difference from showroom and 1500 miles later.
great video man! when i got mine after the 1st week isaid screw it and started mashing that throttle. i mean if you plan on modifying the vehicle theres no need to baby it
Do the higher settings feel kinda boosty and artificial? The sport buttons on most euro cars change the throttle mapping in a similar way to the vitesses but as a result the throttle becomes twitchy and feels unnatural and boosty.
I believe in the break in period and all. But it is sorta myth, Hennessy the performance company just released a video of the new 2017 zl1 and he brought the car to around 173 with 29 miles on the car. He then explained why he doesnt believe in the break in theory. Im not sure what to believe I drive a 2017 2ss and I drive it pretty normally no real extreme use yet...
Getting one for my 16 gt. debating on trading my gt for a 1le but will see what my insurance company says. I only want it for the performance though. I like my gt's interior much more and overall looks but I only drive the gt when I'm out having fun so having the 1le suspension would be nice.
+Lethalhammer damn!!!! That is nutts!! I just got back from the dealer. I had to check these out. On video, I though the back looked funky. In real life, it looks good. Entire car looked good! Only bad thing is that this is for my wife and visibility is an issue with her. She has problem with visibility in my 2012 mustang gt and that car's visibility is really good!
+gentlemonsterkennels Back in 2014 when Vitesse did a pre-sale on these, I was one of the first one's to order and was highly skeptical of their claims. Myself and a few camaro5 members (pooty, rtcatman) did some street and track testing with this device and it DID improve 0-60 times and 60ft times at the track. I was going to return the device if it did not do anything but it had the most noticeable improvement of any mod that I did so I kept it. After I sold my 5th gen and got a 6th gen SS, I had to have it again so I bought another.
+WackoKillerDan If your going to tune your car, bypass this mod and tune your ECU for the throttle control. The only down side is you can adjust it with a tune, the tune is set in stone, while this you can crank up and down as you feel with a touch of a button.
Sorry to burst everyone's bubble. The science behind an electronic enhancer won't make more power. Liken it in a mechanical sense to changing your throttle cable on your carbs actuator lever to a lower hole, giving faster response to a given opening of the butterfly. Wot still remains same and after tiring of it you will usually trim it back to the higher setting for a smoother more predictable economy setting.
Lethal but will stay at say SPS 5 otherwise no matter what river mode unless you change it? Do u find the river mode still changes the throttle map to make SPS5 feel different?
thats awesome... so you can tune out hte throttle delay and set a new normal while the Dirver modes will still adjust it as GM intended... slapping this thing on Day 1!
@@Lethalgarage love love your videos guy and trust your honest opinion.. ...got a 2016 atsv...love it....not looking to race but to play..and not blow my extended warraty or cpo..can i or shld consider this vittros throttle and or the K&N cold air intake mods/upgrade..and what does that do for me.......vs what i am kinda considering which is zzp mods (stage1 and new exasut muffler) Sorry for long winded question..but do so look forward to your response!
+Anthony Hill Per the GM manual, they ask for 1,500 miles for break-in. The crate motor (LT1) only required 500. Some have said break-in includes all aspects of the car. But the motor, should really only need 500 miles.

hey man do you think it will affect the mpg? probably right?
also does the exhaust sound more aggressive?
exhaust sounds slightly more aggressive as the throttle is reacting quicker than stock. More RPM's quicker = more exhaust and sound.
if anything it gives you better control of your throttle which in turn will most likely yield better over all gas mileage.

Matt, Will this void my warranty on my 2017 SS Camero ? Because I brought an extended warranty. Ray
Ray Delfa most dealerships say it will
I dont see how it could? It doesn't mess with the ECU....or change timing,
how much do you think the price will drop to in august FOR A 2SS??
+greenshot321 Depends on supply and demand. I think the price will remain the same, but how much dealers will sell them for is another story.
I wonder how much of a difference this makes on a tuned manual
+WackoKillerDan If your going to tune your car, bypass this mod and tune your ECU for the throttle control. The only down side is you can adjust it with a tune, the tune is set in stone, while this you can crank up and down as you feel with a touch of a button.
I've got to have this... putting in an order now. :D
Will this one void my warranty? I have the 2017 camaro 1ss manual
Thanks man
+Astiginbro it's shouldn't
for those who cannot install themselves where can i take it to have it installed? im located in Los Angeles
+Willis McGillis Just about any Performamce shop can do it for you. 1hr of labor should cover it.
Are you still using Vitesse throttle?
+ROAD KING I removed it once my car got a real tune.
ok cool Any recommendations on a tune
How long is the break in period?
+Riyadh Al Fanikh 1,500 miles per the GM manual.
Does this mod need a tune?
No
@@Lethalgarage that's simple. Totally worth it. Thanks
Do it work if u have your car tune already?
No
Sorry to burst everyone's bubble.
Is this available for the v6??
iCUMinYourPussy69 yes
iCUMinYourPussy69 did you get it ?
Got a link.
lethal.. do u think I can use this for the 2.0 turbo
You can.
+Subscribed. Great video. You've talked me into having this on my 2015 Camaro SS :) Enjoy the car!
+Chris Avila (SS Daddy) Thanks for checking out the video.
Is this available for the 2016 Camaro V6 manual?
+Emmanuel Fisher Of course.
Is that just for automatic
does it consume more now ?
+razgaror more what? Gas.... no, my MPG improved.
In planning on getting this as the first mod for my G8. Anyone have any idea how that'll be or how it'll interact with any other mods?
when you set an SPS mode ( say 5) do you need to set it again each time you switch Driver Modes?
+KapitanPoop if you want it to change, yes.
Lethal but will stay at say SPS 5 otherwise no matter what river mode unless you change it? Do u find the river mode still changes the throttle map to make SPS5 feel different?
+KapitanPoop Uup, it will stay the same as the VC isn't tied to your ECU. Yes the feel.would change pending the drive mode I was in within the car.
thats awesome... so you can tune out hte throttle delay and set a new normal while the Dirver modes will still adjust it as GM intended... slapping this thing on Day 1!
@@Lethalgarage love love your videos guy and trust your honest opinion..
...got a 2016 atsv...love it....not looking to race but to play..and not blow my extended warraty or cpo..can i or shld consider this vittros throttle and or the K&N cold air intake mods/upgrade..and what does that do for me.......vs what i am kinda considering which is zzp mods (stage1 and new exasut muffler)
Sorry for long winded question..but do so look forward to your response!
how long is a break in period
+Anthony Hill Per the GM manual, they ask for 1,500 miles for break-in. The crate motor (LT1) only required 500. Some have said break-in includes all aspects of the car. But the motor, should really only need 500 miles.
+Lethalhammer I can't wait 😎
would this be a waste of money if I'm doing a Dyno tune????
+John Glaviano If your tune changes the throttle response, yes. Most tunes do touch those settings.
? You still use this
I have a cam headers and tuned and get a throttle position code set and engine reduced power if I romp on it
Has anybody figured out the launch control wires ??
Is this more for stock non tuned cars or good even if you have a tune?
This is Gera for stock cars. Do not put this on a built tuned car.
@@LethalgarageMy car is stock with a 93 octane Diablosport canned tune. Will this do harm?
does it work with automatic
yes, I have the A8 auto
hey Bro, maybe you could do (if you are willing) an instructional video of removing the backseats? as you know... backseats are useless lol. maybe since you have little kids you could still use the backseats. Ive always wanted to see if I am able to remove the backseats and how. thanks!
Pull the tab on the top and place you hand like in the bottom seam between the top and bottom half of the seat and lift up. its quite easy
