Stunning shots and what a lovely location. 😍
Wow mate what stunning photo locations I bet you have some amazing shots from there over the years
Looks like a fun trip. Thanks for sharing.
Indeed some very beautiful photos and thanks for the shout out in the end there! :)
An no problem loved the woodland videos Mads!
Simply beautiful Sir
I love the contrast and mood. Well done 👍🏻
Love the Tonquin videos.
Beautiful images with lots of warm autumn tones. That looks like a fun journey. I truly believe that great images can come from even the worst light if you just use your head creatively. I saw lots of little ideas as the video went along. As it draws closer to the Sharkfin video, my depression begins to kick in as you know.
If it's any conciliation Jim I did think of you while we where in Talus. If you're interested I might be headed into Tonquin again next year so perhaps you can come along? Talus probably not until 2021
@@QuietLightPhoto Well, I will do Talus for sure in 2021, and we will see how quick a recovery I can expect for next season. If not a hike or horseback ride, I might do a Vancouver Island workshop. Cheers.
Absolutely love the Black & White image at the start, well done Adam. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome location... serene, calm and quiet.
You always make the best of whatever mother nature gives you. Very well done.
Outstanding work. 👍👍👍
I find the images you are taken in this video are very beautiful. They are so calm and show so good the wide range of the landscape. Very impressive images, Adam. 👌👌👌
That was just perfect! I think I've seen all your videos of Tonquin Valley, and this one is just as beautiful as ever. And one other thing, even though it's got nothing to do with the photographs, but the music in this video was phantastic! Thank you!
Thanks!
I think not getting the light was the best thing to happen. The photos portray a real vision of the area. Makes me and my camera want to visit. 🐼👍🏽
Superb images Adam. 😊 📷
Great to see you in there again, Adam.
Love that last shot, and how both the clouds and the foreground grass create a whole leading line!
What's up Adam? This is the first time I've seen this video. That shot of the mountain in the background was really nice. My thoughts are, " Don't let perfection stand in the way of good enough." The shot it self was perfect in its own right. As always, "Nice shot." Peace!
Wonderful results in a beautiful wilderness setting. It proves again that such light is not as bad as one might think and you certainly made the most of it.
That looks a squelchy piece of proper wilderness and Uncle Grumpy is the Artful Dodger. Really enjoyed this episode of quiet light and genuine image making!
Cool intro! Thank you for sharing how to make the best out of a cloudy day...gorgeous!
Great video as always and I really like seeing the raw images morphing into the processed version.
Stunning as always.
Well done vlog! Thanks for sharing Adam.
What an amazing location! Wauw... a privilege to be there and enjoy this majestic beauty.
awesome
The horse ride to and from this great location would be the icing on the cake for me. What a wonderful place.
Love those clouds catching on slivers of rock along the mountainside. Beautiful monochromatic feel. The rest of the shots convey a wonderful mood as well.
super thick comforters .... =)
Nice pictures
You did an excellent job of working with what you got. I can't wait to see the aspens.
Really nice images, Adam. Looked like a lovely trip.
Stunning Adam, some of my favorite images of yours are from Tonquin Valley.
I was just about to comment that for me, personally, these photography trips would be more about the adventure and the hike to the destination and if I get couple great images on top of that, that'd be just a bonus. I'd love to go this place in the future, absolutely my kind of vibe!
Btw, the image where the light hits the side of the cliff - absolutely gorgeous, my favorite one!
Yes!! someone that gets it, cheers!
Great stuff, Adam!
Great work
Great video Adam. Love the images and your processing. Thanks for sharing.
You're good, very good!
fantastic - love the images
Can you do more of these vlogs!? Like the calmness and think you’re doin’ excellent marketing on selling this workshop.... and I agree I would also be happy with these shots and yes it is true being there is as important as the epic shots
great video, back to where it started ;)
Thank you. Perfect light, perfect location. Must do.
Thanks for sharing your adventure Adam... Beautiful area with some good company & you got some nice shots out of it too... The glow on those grasses really drew my eyes in...
Bill on the Hill... :~)
Beautiful cool and warm colour contrast, and the cloud is helping the image.
I'm imagining that this would be a great springtime location, assuming the snow has disappeared by then. Looks like a worthwhile venture. Rock on!
I always love the video of this trip.
Great video Adam. And love to see the raw files and how you process them.
Wonderful and my goodness wish I could of been with you on this workshop! Amazing shots. Totally agree, it’s a great situation, love mood and just bringing out the best in each shot. 👌
Well you'll just have to come over Mali and join in the fun, any time mate!!
Adam Gibbs very kind buddy! I’ll keep you to that!!
Beautiful! Wonderful music choices too.
A beautiful location Adam, reminds me of New Zealand -South Island, a place I never get tired of photographing or just being there. Love the final images :) Cheers!
Really liked those 2 shots at 11:17 and 12:03. Great video with that time lap, of those clouds climbing up the Mountain side..
Always nice to see your Raw image as well as the processed.
Epic lightning, perhaps not. Still captured some really good looking photos.
Thanks for sharing again Adam.
Excellent as always. I've preordered jour book, can't wait to get it.
Thank you!!
canada surely is fantastic and beautifull country. looking forward to your vlog about aspen trees ;) cheers Adam
Just look at that business.... Tresmendous! Sorry had a Gavin Moment there..... Great images Adam and what a place to hangout 👍🇬🇧
You didn’t have to squeeze the lemons too hard to make some good lemonade! I hope to be able to visit there with you some day.
Great images, I think non direct sunlight works great the clouds reflecting in the water and the whole muted colour thing works a treat
Excellent, Adam. And posted an hour earlier than normal! Looking forward to aspens next week. Summer is over.
Uncle Grumpy is very dodgy. BURN. 😂
I’ll see myself out 😜
That shots at 11:20 & 12:10. Just beautiful Adam!
OHHHH TIMELAPSE! Awesome work man, I love the images as well!
This would be the perfect trip for me horse riding and photography in one 💕 looks absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous shots too very moody and atmospheric.
Beautiful work Adam!! Juicy!!!
I really enjoy the way you make you're videos Adam. Informative and easy going which makes them a pleasure to watch. So different to Gavin's which I also enjoy ... just not quite as much 😉🤣
Beautiful as always Uncle!
nice vid and very nice images, living the dream. :)
Great video Adam in an epic location. One day I hope to get over, one day.
Image of the Ramparts is my favorite.
Love that last image. Great composition and even though the light could have been just a tad bit better, it is still a really good image. That area reminds me of some of the scenery along the Bow Valley Parkway that we visited around this time last year. It’s funny how traffic just stops when people see you out there with a tripod.
Nice video Adam. Looking forward to some Aspen inspiration next time!
Nice photowork, specialy the cloud-one! Thn Adam
I just love Jasper NP. Your images are stunning! Its great to see how you make the most out of the situation but you need to be careful you don't ruin your reputation as Lord Harbinger of Doom!
In this day and age reputation is overrated. ;-)
The clouds and mountains have the same feel as those you took on the Faroe Island of the clouds, water and light on the water. Quite interesting and a pleasure to see. I like when you show the processed image and the original RAW file. Have you considered starting with the RAW and then softly transitioning to the final image. I think that could work quite well. Let's one see where you stared from to a beautifully created image. Thanks for sharing.
Good idea Glen, I'll give it a shot
Hey Adam, Luved that last shot! As Landscape Photographers well know, getting an epic shot is rarely an easy task! I think you nailed it when you mentioned that, on a trip like these, if you're able come away with even one or two great images and moments, it was a successful adventure.
Cheers 🍻
Hi Adam: Amazing location and amazing images. Just goes to show you that we have excellent vistas here in Canada! I am really looking forward to seeing your video on the aspen forest.
Cheers, Keith Pinn
Barrie, Ontario
Some great images in there Adam. Would love to take part in this workshop one day.
2021 stay tuned
Great video nice
Hi Adam, I was going to ask. Do you have to carry Bear spray with you when you hike around these areas? I was reading that this part of Canada has a fair few grizzly bears, and cougars
I haven't been to the Tonquin in about 25 years ... just as beautiful as I remember. Gorgeous work imho, "great" light or not.
Great images Adam and it looks like you avoided snow this year.
yes warm and balmy
I really like your dodgy images, making best use of the available light.
That intro man! Oooh that's juicy!!
Nice pics Adam! Ever consider getting choppered in.
Not allowed, hence the horses or hiking in.
Great shots where was your focal point in the one picture with the light on the mountains.
No real focal point other than the light on the mountain. If you mean the focus point then the grasses in the mid ground
Great content, Beautiful images and the fact that my partner only knows you as Uncle Grumpy and not Adam Gibbs is hilarious.
See you on the island...
Do you ever shoot in the Glacier-Watertown International Parks?
Once, many years ago
Fantastic stuff mate and those cabins look luxury compared to the garden shed we stayed in Scotland 😂😀👍✌
Thats for sure, lol
Wow...outstanding images. I particularly like 12:09. Ive noticed you are very selective and subtle on your use of dodge and burn. I haven't quite figured out how to best employ that technique yet but I appreciate the subtlety of your use. Some people tend to over use that technique - and for my preference I like your approach.
Lovely images Adam , looks like a wonderful place . It’s nice to see Adam Gibbs instead of Uncle Grumpy
Uncle Grumpy (Gavins Channel) Adam Gibbs (my channel) simple really, lol Cheers!
Love them both Adam , sorry , I won’t mention the grumpster again on your channel
@@andrewherbert9938 my alter ego, haha
Jealous it’s only what I feel, I’would like to be there...Adam the Master of the Dodge! Great like always...
Incredible scenery and great educational/inspirational video. Did I hear you say you would be in Spain soon? Is this a workshop?
yes, unfortunately it sold out long ago
Adam, great video as usual! Question: I see you're using your 70-200mm a lot, and not much of the 200-500 you picked up in China. Is that a quality of lens issue or a weight issue or...?? Thanks.
Two things, weight and I keep forgetting to pack it, lol. The lens is excellent
@@QuietLightPhoto Awesome. I picked one up and love it. Glad to see you still like it! Thx.
Some strong shots in this video but I Love the cloud photo
Great but gentle processing to bring out the best in the mages.
What was that at 2:37/2:38 on the left side? Anyone notice that too?
in the tree? a burl
👍
Heaton is gonna be pissed that you used his tag line to sign off 😉
Nah!
Hah, I watch Nicks video and thought my eyes were going or he just had a bad focus day. Now yours comes on and it's blurry. That's when I realize youtube reset my video quality to 360.
Great vlog Adam, shame about the light but they look very dramatic
On your workshop last April we did sunset at Botanical Beach and you fussed that the whole sky didn’t light up but rather only a sliver over the horizon. I said then and avow now, that I prefer it bc we have all seen full sky sunsets ad nauseum, no? I like a chance for something more unique. Your partial light on the mountain is more evocative to me than the full on blast. Just me though
True enough but a blast of sun at the end or start of the day can be a treat, yes?
