You should try Chinese food - fried siopao (chian pao) fresh lumpia dumplings beef wanton mami noodle soup humma cuapao maki noodles soup roast pork roast duck lechon macau etc in chinatown - Eng beetin have some of these. Carvajal street Salazar street have famous small good restaurants

I got excited when you’re in the Chinatown and you walk through ongpin street and you passed through the busy with long line of ppl to get in the Chuan Kee restaurant. I lived just next door to that for over 4 years in the jewelry store there 😊.
Chuan Kee is actually a very Chinese food . The only way to eat it is to go for delivery. They have in food panda or their own delivery service. Personally, I would like to say thank you for giving her food. I noticed that you are also kind to stray cats and dogs. It warms my heart.

Also the tiny river you mentioned that’s dirty is called an Estero. Esteros can be found all over metro Manila, and all of them lead up the pasig river which then spills out into manila bay. That one there used to have shanties (notice fence on both sides of river to prevent people from building house) and garbage in it. So much so that water clogged up every time it rained or stormed. Thankfully the government has been making all the effort to clean them up, especially during the last 2-3 administrations. Though the Estero May look dirty to some, to most Filipinos it shows how much improvement the Philippines have made compared to the past decades when the great river was immensely neglected.
Come to Bicol we have here more foods that you didn't experience yet like Bicol express and spicy mango shake and more. You are welcomed everywhere here in Philippines brother :)

Also the tiny river you mentioned that’s dirty is called an Estero. Esteros can be found all over metro Manila, and all of them lead up the pasig river which then spills out into manila bay. That one there used to have shanties (notice fence on both sides of river to prevent people from building house) and garbage in it. So much so that water clogged up every time it rained or stormed. Thankfully the government has been making all the effort to clean them up, especially during the last 2-3 administrations. Though the Estero May look dirty to some, to most Filipinos it shows how much improvement the Philippines have made compared to the past decades when the great river was immensely neglected.
