@@mikenobi You'll only have to tune down the low E string by 2 steps (i.e. the one that plays the bass notes of songs which is the top string when you're holding your guitar and looking down at it). If you have decent hearing skills, hold down the second fret of the low E string and pluck the highest E string (i.e. the string on the opposite end) and they should sound similar but will be 2 octaves apart). Otherwise hold down the 2nd fret of the low E string (which will be a F# in standard tuning but will become a E once you tune the string down to a D) and use a free tuner app to tune to the low E.
