Such a good watch. I have the 5s and have been loving it since Day 1. For me the wrist heart rate sensor was not too accurate while I was hiking at times... will likely do the same hike with my chest strap and compare.

LOL. Thought same thing. No problem with my F3 and just ordered an F5, but the plastic cased Forerunner series definitely has a better reputation for connection dependability and GPS accuracy for some folks.
What you recommend fenix over Apple Series 3 ?
Can some of those other screens be turned off if not wanted or needed. I just want a watch with a compass on it. Don't need or want all the other screens.
Is it safe to swim with this watch for 2-3 days a week? Cause Fitbit charge 3 didn t last more that a month after I used it for swimming
I swim with mine 5 days a week sometimes...it's built like a Tank.

Will this garmin watch play music from your wrist? To a bluetooth speaker or head phone???
Saphire version has bluetooth.....music services or MP3 player 4gb hard drive.....mine works great, signal goes really far if you use speakers.

I don't know about you, but I order it a few days ago, it is the best watch garmin have to offer. If you don't wanna use it for swimming I recommend you to check forerunner 645 or the forerunner 935 which is the same sportwatch but with hard plastic and a lot cheaper)
updates for What???.......it's built to GO......it's not a shitty Applewatch that gets loaded with firmware every month. I NEVER updated my Fenix 5......never had an issue.

How long it last before it obsolete? It is beautiful but does fitness tracker at this price point is worth it? I'm looking for a watch that looks good and tell time at a glance at my wrist, and maybe a bit of music control function, fitness is not necessary for me as I think all the number I get from the data won't directly help me, I improve my jogging on my own way. Although I didn't own and experiences any fitness tracker yet, do you think fitness tracker make sense and useful for me?
Then go for a Samsung watch?
if garmin made a watch that looks the same but with a third of the functions, less thick and cheaper i would buy it for sure

If you are used to something like an Apple Watch or an Android then get ready for an ergonomic nightmare
WHEN YOU BUY ANY GARMIN PRODUCTS!!!Know that it is their policy not to change rechargeable batteries instead they will ask to pay 1/3 of the original price to get a refurbished unit!!!
That actually sounds like a better option, you would need to completely reseal and purge the casing. If you didn't it would lose its water proof rating.

+ehabhopi hopi you can't respond, you simply get a preview of your text. And phone calls only ring on the watch you can't talk to them like on the Apple watch. But you can answer or decline from your wrist

adit1001 really 5 years. It's tech man almost no technology is good in 5 years.
adit1001 This is actually false, you can find the battery online and replace it yourself with a few simple solders of the -/+ ribbon.
5 years battery degradation won't affect most modern LiOn electronics. It will likely still be at 80%, which for this watch still beats most out there. Whether or not Garmin will support it with updates is another story. Nobody should be buying a rechargeable connected device these days with expectation of 5+ years of service....
What about the dissapointing GPS accuracy? i mean its reaaaaly bad... so muchs so that they should recall the product.
Zoran Randjelovic haven't had a problem with mine, always get a signal and it tracks without issue.
