Hi Paul try some full fat coke down in the injectors and leave them overnight to cure. Some told me a tried and it worked.

Paul remove the leak back hoses it's just a small metal clip pin the holds them in and if you break one of the black connections then its £180 for a new complete hose set up from vw. The injector hold down bolts are stretch to yield so get new ones they are £1.50 each from vw. I know as I done a set of seals on one fired it up and 2 injectors popped out taking the leak back out and I bit of bolt stuck in the head and it's a pain to get that out. If you remove the injector saddle it will give you some room to spray the injectors with with some wd40 to help loosen them I also used a spanner to rock them and just kept trying to rock them free while applying more wd

Constructive Comment. Keep you camera smooth and not jerk around so much when you are talking. It makes the viewer sea sick. Content is Great though Paul. Cheers.

Hi Paul if head is warped why not get it skimmed better than getting an engine which your not sure it's 100% until you try to start it I have done that many times.

Those Caddy rocker covers are prone to failure, leaking engine oil which pools in the injector recesses - that may be why the stretch bolt holding number 3 & 4 injectors was oily.

Can the head be skimmed if is warped? Those who had the first Transit Mk1 with the V4 engine didn't appreciate what paradise they were in regarding engine repairs - heads off in half an hour, water pump/alternator replaced in 20 mins.

The head bolts may be a torque-to-yield type and if so are generally a single-use only item. If that's the case, they're probably very reasonable in cost. Also, if there's a stud kit available, consider that set. It's great peace of mind and a good selling point when the time comes.

Send the head to a machine shop, get a skim, have them remove the injectors and glow plugs, the Roberts your mothers brother

Good video as usual . Make sure you replace the injector bolts if you are rebuilding that engine . One time use bolts have a bad habit of snapping if reused 😢
