What I love about the Vikings is that it’s a real team effort. Flores has been awesome absolutely shutting down every offense. KOC is my coach of the year front-runner absolutely scheming up a great O. Darnold has legit been good and shows so much of why he was a high pick. It’s awesome football to watch and I’m an Eagles fan saying this 😂
Flores is a bigger impact than KOC but that's not to say KOC isn't doing great things too. Josh McCown deserves some respect for that job with Darnold and getting him prepared and ready every week. All the free agent signings are pretty solid hits. Chemistry on the team is also top notch. It'll be interesting to see what happens when they inevitably start losing some.
FYI that INT was incomplete...the Defender did not maintain control of the ball after he fell out of bounds. Refs missed that even in the review booth...
Didn't see it. But tbh, I'd NOT throw McKinney's way unless he's going 1on1 with JET on a pass route he and I covered many times over in practice so I could trust JET to make it or take it away from McKinney who's playing up to his usual ALL-Pro level this season. i.e., was a bad choice; know who's out there in coverage and respect "who's hot" and "who's not."
@@Circenn You clearly need to learn the rules. The only thing touching the ground when he controls the ball is his elbow, which was out of bounds. Thus not an interception.
You go number 3 for a reason. GMs and coaches around the league was very high on Sam. The talent been there.. outside of Minnesota and San Francisco, he’s been in toxic environments. No QB can thrive in those jets and panthers situations. And it’s a team game not just a QB game people. The good coaches cater to your strengths and develop your weaknesses
I would argue Sam Darnold is the MVP 1/4 of the way through the season. 11 TDs to 3 INTs. The team is 4-0. They beat the 49ers, Texans, and on the road against the Packers. Darnold will continue to roll in London against the Jets. They are about to find out.
Just so impressive, and also so thrilled for the guy. I don't know what will happen when JJMc returns, Vikings will have a hard decision to make. Right now, I think Darnold could be the future here. Sign him.
The ball hit JJ in the chest before he saw it (because the defender had perfect coverage) and then he whipped his arm around one handed to secure it. It was a throw of beauty!
The real reason - Darnold has subconsciously felt like he has to play hero ball all the time because of the bad situations he's been in. He's got everything he needs to succeed in Minnesota and the early games have had a lot of things go right for him. Every game he's cutting out more of those mistakes, like giving himself up on that botched run play where in an earlier game he tried to "fix" the play where the tight end in motion got in the way of the handoff, because he's starting to subconsciously believe in the team to come back from adversity.
It is study and appreciating study, you know where you are throwing and check the defense in that area. No one is looking at you and are exiting the throwing area, you know where your receiver is going, and no defender can reach that spot in the 2 seconds of the throw, and you throw it. Purdy does that he probably picked that up and how it leads to certain completions. It is that delay that kills plays and leads to turnovers, you throw behind your receiver or in front of the target spot, you stare at the receiver so you are unaware of defenders.
He had some nice pockets to work from, especially in the first half, vs Packers, but he's actually faced a lot of pressure this season. And he's been very good against it.
@@BattleFish22 I know, but these are the days that we will fondly remember one day. It’s not easy being the best team in football, we should enjoy every single second of it!
This TEAM is great. Just goes to show what Kirk was lacking. He had a great team, but was so unwilling to make a mistake that we played it safe all the time. He finally started to let it rip last year and got hurt. Darnold over Kirk any day of the week.
@@TylerHollywoodJB Hence why I said he finally started to let it rip. He was playing very good at the end. But he was very shaky in clutch situations - aka the giants playoff game - passing it behind the line to gain on a 4th down.
He's been very good so far. Let's not get too excited yet, though. '98 was heartbreaking at a higher level. I swear, this franchise could screw up a free lunch no matter. Hope against all hope it doesn't happen again.
Not only did he want that back he should have gotten that one back. Also not a fan of that being the pass a Aaron. Hes good at catching the ball but he isnt a WR. Great break downs and please never hesitate to break it down or teach “too much”! Love it!

@ChaseDanielShow obviously we'd all acknowledge he's elevated by the coaches, and offensive personnel the Vikings have, but where do you think his natural talent and experience would get him with a lesser offensive unit? Say you swapped him in for Fields in Pitt, do you think Darnold still plays at a pro bowl level? Genuinely curious where you rank him on natural talent and prior development.
@@coldbeer8899 I believe so. The biggest thing is Sam Darnold played with two of most disgraced coaches in the last 20 years in Adam Gase and Matt Rhule. How much can you really put on him? Sam is straight up a better qb than Fields, and if you aren't willing to admit that, he is better than mason rudolph, and pickett, two QBS that could make a playoff push with them.
There are so many BAD QBs in the National Football League that when a Decent one comes around, folks make them out to be FAR better then what they actually are. Sam is no different. Last year, the Vikings had 2 Horrible QBs and one Decent one. In 2023, they were 6/4 after 10 games. But they knocked off 5 straight wins to get there. But finally due to Cousin getting injured, the Replacement QBs faltered eventually and they lost 6 out of their last 7 games to finish at 7/10. The previous year the Viking were 13/4. So clearly the Viking already had a Good Team. So eventually expect an Regression toward the mean this year be that towards the end and certainly in the playoffs.
Clearly you’re generalizing. When scouts say “arm talent” that means that the QB can make throws that most can’t. The other thing is football is a team sport. You need good coaches and infrastructure for a QB to be successful. To think otherwise is foolish
