I live in GA small town. I have been watching this since the beginning and getting prepared. I have only left my house 2 times in the last 10 days, only to get food. I strip on my backporch and shower immediately. I store all non perishables outside in a bin for 3 days, other stuff I wipe down. I wear gloves and change often. I check mail with gloves. My kids have not left my house in 10 days. THis is how it will be for me until it changes. My hubby works as a welder, so he is distanced from workers and wears masks/gloves plus he works outside. He strips when he gets home anyway, and showers immediately. People here think im crazy! Im going to keep doing this for as long as it takes. Dr. John, we WILL BEAT THIS!!

You can use lysol or disinfecting wipes if you want to wipe your shoes down if you have to wear them in. For long hair(like i have) I also wear in a bun when i go out. God Bless you and your family! When Government fails to react fast and aggressively, unfortunately the people are the ones who pay the price! Yes, Dr Campbell is an Awesome Doctor to say the least! He tells it like it is, no matter who or what country or Gov't...Please protect yourself in any way you can. If you don't have mask n gloves like they say you need, use whatever you can. Regular gloves and a homemade mask with as much material as you can. Please wash your hands n face before going out, cover them, avoid close contact,( more than 6ft) I'd stay 10-15 ft and wear sunglasses if you have them. Get or make hand sanitizers and wipe everything down before entering your home, remove your shoes, and wash hands n face as soon as you get in. Clean with bleach, alcohol, or disinfectants...Keep hands away from face and if you have it, clean nostrils with a Q-tip n hydrogen peroxide. It helps to kill any viruses, or bacteria in your passages! I'm sure you probably know this but, just trying to help! I'm from the US and its pretty bad here! I'm a homebody anyway but, I do take all precautions I can think of! Don't rely on your officials to take care of you, most can't take care of themselves and will decieve you! Alot of deception going on in our Democratic Gov't...They want to destroy the populations of people! Thats a fact! I support our President Trump bc I feel he's the one trying to do his best along with a good number of others! He was not informed properly about the correct information so therefor, he didn't react as fast as he should have, but, still has done as good as he can! CHINA and the Deepstate, bad leaders, LIED TO THE ENTIRE WORLD ABOUT THE TRUTH OF THE VIRUS AND THE PEOPLE!...CHINA, was killing non-sick and infected people. They were killing the old, sick from other diseases, and mainly THE PROTESTERS that wanted Freedom! Anyone against the Chinese Communists Regime n Gov't, died at their Evil, Evil Demonic hands! Now, Everyone in every country is paying the price! Life has forever changed and will never ever be like it was before! If you believe in Christ Jesus, Please tell everyone about him. He's our only Hope! No matter what happens in our futures, Everything Is Going To Be Fine! We will be fine through Jesus Christ our Lord! So nice to speak with you Lia...God Bless you hun...🙏❤💕🙏😀
PS. If you can get it, Take 1000mg of Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and Zinc...I also take Elderberry everyday! Its not to boost the immune system, Just to keep it in tip top shape! 🙏🙏❤💕😀👍🇺🇸

Anyone coming out with “big talk” such as “we’ll fight this to the end” doesn’t know anything about fighting - really.
Viruses as a whole CANNOT be beaten.
Sure, you can delay it’s spread (eg social distancing / isolation - yada yada).
Hand sanitizers do not do anything as far as viruses are concerned. Hand sanitizer that have a 60-70% alcohol content will kill most bacteria - but will not even tickle the Influenza or Ebola virus. It’s unlikely that Covid 19 will do much more than laugh in your face (metaphorically).
You need a 90% alcohol content to “kill” viruses. And the higher the alcohol content, the more carcinogenic the “sanitizer”.
In short: if it’s Covid 19 you are thinking about, wash your hands with soap and water or don’t bother at all.
Of course, someone may come up with a vaccine. If they do, it will likely be at least 18 months. By that time, the U.K. death toll will likely be around 240,000.
But let’s half that and call it 120,000.
If that many people die, even if we assume YOU (the reader) is not one of them, have you really won?!
And what did you exactly do to “fight” the virus other than big talk, socially distance - for 18 months??! Wash your hands?!
As for “pumping your fist in the air”. Just hope it was gloved and mind you don’t literally catch an aerosolised Virus.
One last point on vaccines: the chances are the Covid 19 will have mutated into something far more deadly by that time - yet at least equally contagious. Covid 19 is associated only with a 5% mortality rate. A Covid 19 vaccine will unlikely touch “the newer improved version”.
      Just sit down. Good boy.

I'm a Swede and I actually think I know what my fellow countryman means. The feeling of utter betrayal and helplessness when the highest taxes in the world apparently can't even keep the hospitals stocked with PPE and hand sanitizer. A university was actually asking for "containers" because a professor fired up the lab and started making hand sanitizer to supply the nearest hospital. So when giving up is mentioned, I think, maybe because I thought this myself - it's giving up on Sweden. I live in the Stockholm Area and afaik there have been no tests at all since march 12th. I have also seen suggestions that the number of deaths shouldnt be reported. The army is at least building some 200 beds in Stockholm along with their own field hospital. We were dubbling every 2 days when they stopped testing.

We’re fighting for the survival of humanity. Period. Each state has taken it upon themselves to triage their own situation. Concerning Sweden, it is the health authorities that has been leaning hard on the politicians to not implement more severe measures.
It seems to be based on the assumption that asymptomatic and presymptomatic transfer is a negligible factor in the spread of infections.
From that it follows that since children almost never exhibit symptoms school closures will have no benefit and only cause harm.
They have repeatedly said it would be beneficial if the spread were to occur in schools.
Social distancing is encouraged, but not mandated for those who do not exhibit symptoms.
The health authorities have also said that Sweden is still in such an early stage that stronger measures would have little benefit vs costs and that they should wait a bit longer.
Stronger measures are announced and they just passed a law that will allow them to close schools (Was only possible in the event of war before, supposedly).
Edit: They seem to have backtracked on this and are happy with the measures that are already in place.
In my opinion they seem too confident in their assumptions on transmission dynamics. The cost of being too strict are mainly economic, the cost of being to lax are mainly human.
Economic costs do transfer into human costs at some point as well, obviously

    • @Quickshot0
      @Quickshot0 4 года назад +4

Technically harming your economy for no benefit in the end has a health cost again as well. As a bad economy means more poverty and people not doing well. So it's possibly the health experts want to avoid the long term issue as well.
It's just that they're probably being far to optimistic about the immediate problem right now. It's not like this has worked out anywhere else after all.

Reminds me of where Germany was 2 weeks ago. Yeah. Did not work out so well. I feel, it would have been better, to take some measures earlier, instead of waiting for things to blow up. Cause now, only extreme measures will still help.
Regarding the children...there’s a difference between the likelihood of spreading the virus to random strangers as an asymptomatic person and spreading it to family members/people you’re intimate with. I‘m willing to believe, that a reasonably careful adult can walk around and not infect others(in the absence of coughing)...but good luck with that with a 4 year old. Little kids will get their family members sick, that’s almost guaranteed. We know, even asymptomatic people have high virus counts in their throat...so they are infectious, if they get their spit on you or something.
So...damned if you do, damned if you don’t, because economically, there will be hell to pay.

Suburban Texas: We have been staying at home for over a week now. We always keep a supply of food on the shelves and from early in Dr. C.'s coverage of the looming pandemic we increased that stock. We go out of the house, yard work, walking the dogs, but not around others. Yesterday a gentleman walked by pushing a baby in a stroller. He was walking down the middle of the road which now has a car on it only rarely. We waved to each other from a distance and it occurred to me how everyone now has a wave or a smile for their neighbor. Today our favorite local grocery got their delivery service sorted out and we got a small package. I was especially looking forward to some fresh tomatoes. Unpacking veggies and crackers with my gloves on and taking everything to the sink to wash or sanitize I decided I could get used to living this way.
But we know- this is only the calm before the storm.

They set up testing centers around the city for the general public and tons of people were lined up, but they put the kibosh on the whole thing the next day due to lack of PPE and a fear that the masses of people in line would just end up spreading the virus. They realized we need the gloves and masks etc for hospital workers. Cases are pouring in to the ER. There's such a shortage that docs and nurses are actually being given one mask each and being told to keep reusing it. The CDC site is telling healthcare workers to wear a bandana. Unbelievable.

    - authorities are reporting deaths both for and with coronavirus

Streets are abandoned, only essential stores are open. Our Government has been providing solid leadership. Testing is not up to snuff yet, but I believe it is ramping up as quickly as possible. Is it true that getting a very small exposure (very small viral load) gives most people less severe symptoms?

I live in South Australia. The health minister said yesterday that “there is no evidence of community spread in South Australia”. I’m not sure how they can make this claim. In Australia you can ONLY get tested if you have recent travel history or contact with a confirmed case. So it seems crazy to me that they can make a claim of no community spread when they’re not testing to see who has it. My husband developed symptoms last week but they wouldn’t test him. He’s now got to decide whether to go back to work potentially infected (as he has no leave entitlements and is the sole earner right now, we simply can’t afford for him to not work) or stay off but we can’t make the mortgage payments. If they’d tested him, and he was positive then the banks would’ve helped us financially. It’s just stupid in Australia. TEST. If we don’t test, then community spread is going to run rife here. At least they’ve finallly shut down pubs/restaurants/clubs etc. although schools and childcare’s are open still, which is concerning. Really disappointed in my governments poor management of this crisis.

Seeing Hong Kong's recent surge of new cases is alarming. Although China "claimed" to have relatively few new cases nation-wide lately, and that the majority of the cases are imported, and given that everyone who can work has returned to work, most restaurants are re-opened and are crowded, I believe the next few weeks will be critical to see IF a 2nd wave will starts. Let's hope NOT.

    Hello Dr Campbell,
I think you mentioned Chloroquine Phosphate in a previous video, but haven't followed up. Is it worth taking this upon first onset of symptoms OR even BEFORE by maintaining an extended "travel dosage"? SAFE & highly tolerated, so long as that dosage is not exceeded...nothwithstanding those with certain conditions.
