    You should get the swedish M90 uniform or the old M57 that uniform is very green...

    Not being negative about your video, which is, as usual, good BUT you again concentrate on the camo as a civilian would. DPM is still a good camo, as is MTP, but you need to adapt to your local environment if you're a soldier. That means adding camouflage to your basic uniform in the form of grasses, and other foliage, for example. So in the present dried conditions you would add dried grass / hay and such like to your kit. A soldier is trained to change his camo foliage depending on the terrain he is moving thru, even if it means doing it several times a day. You don't rely totally on whatever camo your uniform is printed in to avoid being seen. And besides, the camo uniforms look totally different after you've been out in the field for a few days in the damp and dirt, not at all like your nice clean gear! Looking forwards to your MTP video.

      Correct, I've recommended that in several videos though, the point being some camos will not work all year regardless.

    Funny thing i was wearing my Desert DPM smock during the beast from the east and i blended in rather well during the snowstorm.

      Once 95 Desert DPM fades half of it is basically white so that would make sense.

    You are right about DPM in autumn in UK, but in West Germany , where bulk of the Brtish Army was during the cold war , the majority of forests were pine and spruce. The main exercise season was Autumn, we called it the silly season and everything seemed dark green and brown and usually wet at this time.

    There is one truly all season camo pattern - Predator's stealth suit! Except it doesn't work in the rain. Or if your walking through water. Or under thermal. Bugger, back to the drawing board then 😜

      Not exactly camo but I guess a florescent jacket would still look like a florescent jacket all year.

    Atacs UA is the best camo pattern for my environment as varies from rocky desert to grasslands. It all so works to some extent in industrial areas.

  • @londiniumarmoury7037
    @londiniumarmoury7037 6 лет назад +2

    This is why I get annoyed with the lack of light Urbans and Arctics in official military issue. because of the fact that in London when it snows and around the UK it's frosty a lot especially up north where I go sometimes. So I need good Arctic gear even in the UK, on a blanket of white and grey, you stand out.
    Also on parched sun-scorched grass in high summer, I actually wear my Deserts, I have always thought the sand camo patterns worked better for yellow grass/straw, than any woodlands available.

    Good video and so true.
    Although we have Australian Multicam (AMCU) here in Australia, in the middle of winter Multicam original is as effective and during summer Multicam Arid is a effective, especially in the dry grassy plains.

      @Weaponsandstuff93  6 лет назад

      Cool yeah in some places certain camos can be quite good all year but some of the super lush green camos some nations field would only work in Spring/Summer as far as I can tell before looking like a green blob in a brown or grey environment.

    Ture agreed in the fall and winter i ware brown like ACTS-Au , Muilt tarian tiger. In summer and spring green woodland,dpm,flecktarn, our tiger stripe. Never thought about green in winter

    • @Weaponsandstuff93
      @Weaponsandstuff93  6 лет назад

      Yeah it depends where you are, here there are a few evergreen type things that will always be green so in winter brown and green and grey are the only colours you see. Where as in the Autumn everything is red and yellow mostly.

    DPM works best in Scotland :P MTP/Multi-Cam is too bright up here, noticed it best doing airsoft but applying local envirnment to the camo (bushes, grass and other) really does help.

    • @Weaponsandstuff93

    My Tigerstripe works fairly well in the Summer and Spring in North Carolina but my Flektarn and Marpat works better since NC doesnt have a lot of plants that reside in the jungles of Vietnam so the terrain differences lower its effectiveness a small amount. I'm not sure which camos would work best in the Winter or Autumn though.. probably some type of Flektarn or something with a lot of light browns and tans.

  • @AshleyBlackwater

    Is older flecktarn actually more red? Like I thought it was just faded browns?
    Also, isn't golive drab a universal camo? Like unless you live somewhere where you cross into desert it works well enouth?

    • @Weaponsandstuff93
      @Weaponsandstuff93  6 лет назад +2

      Old flecktarn had very red coloured browns in it, like Alpenflage.
      Olive drab is sort of universal but it is not disruptive, just like how Strichtarn works anywhere but doesn't really hide the users silhouette.

      OD can be used both in summer and winter. Al through faded OD works better in summer, being light to medium green. And new OD, nearly brown, works well in autumn and winter.

    • @stefanbrezar8642
      @stefanbrezar8642 6 лет назад

      Yes. I agree. That was the first mass use of special camouflage-Finish forces were clad in white uniforms and Soviets were mostly in ordinary uniforms. But all white uniform is problematic if you are not in Siberia were snow cover everything. In Europe, there is much more colors.

      @@stefanbrezar8642 That is why the Germans developed forest snow camo pattern. White backround with green large spots. A modernized Flecktarn version has replaced the earlier version.
      So does the USMC, with a snow Marpat pattern.

    • @Weaponsandstuff93
      @Weaponsandstuff93  6 лет назад +2

      Because it prevents them being invaded.

    • @G1NZOU
      @G1NZOU 4 года назад +1

      Their whole military defence concept was (and still is) to have multiple fallback points and use the terrain to their advantage, with bunkers guarding narrow mountain passes, if they didn't have a military to make those narrow passes into potential killzones any invader could just walk in.
      Defence by being prickly and maximising the effectiveness of a relatively small armed force, as well as blowing up tunnels and bridges makes it not worth the effort of invading them.
