I...am in awe right now. I've been trying to troubleshoot why my hair keeps turning out frizzy even with (what I considered) was enough product, and watching this video, my hair always looks like yours did with the amount of product you measured out for the first wash. I need way more product! I've always been scared of using too much, but my hair is so long and dense and thick (like yours), so this makes total sense. Thank you so much for this video!! You're the first youtuber I've found that has hair closest to mine and your tips are incredible. Have a lovely rest of your day! 💕

Yes … this can definitely cause a bad wash day like mine. When I started my curly journey I thought a little would work but that was not the case I have high density and thick hair … I need more love lol thank you so much glad my videos can help 🥰

Thanks for the video. I agree you should learn how much your hair needs not what others think. You are the one that needs to live with it. It’s easier to see the results of your hair when you wear your light colour satin robe over your dark shirt.

Thank you yes it all depends on your hair type. My hair is soooooo dry sometimes just adding water doesn’t help, it need more moisture. And yes thank you I chose the wrong shirt to wear 😟 but that k you for watching 🥰

I love your curls! I definitely agree with you I like the way that my own curls turn out when I followed your methods. But it’s interesting because out of all the curly girls I follow I think you are the only one that has curls like mine maybe it’s something to do with we both are Mexican ( I am mixed) I don’t know but my curls turn out the best when I follow your method and I am so glad I found your channel!

I stopped straightening my hair 4 years ago, and I only applied pure Argan Oil or Macadamia Oil right after a shower. I would rinse out my conditioner but not fully, and then I would apply the oil straight to my hair while it's still soaking wet. I never sectioned my hair while applying oil. I just used the raking method, then scrunch, and let it air dry. It never really gave me the tighter curl definition I wanted because I never applied curl cream or gel after. I always preferred oil, as it reduces some frizz, and it locks in moisture. It also gives me more volume because my hair tends to get a bit frizzy if there's less product. I prefer frizzy hair and less defined curls because my hair is so thin and it's a type 2a, 2b, and 2c curls. I also never used to blow dry, just air dry.
So a year ago, I started experimenting with curl creams, gel, and sometimes mousse. I also started sectioning my hair and then applying the curl cream. I would apply the gel towards the end and then scrunch and blow-dry for more definition. This method gives me more curl definition and less frizz. However, it weighs my hair down and lacks the volume I want no matter how much I fluff out and SOTC my hair. My scalp is more visible with this method. Of course, I like the look of the definition. But I can't stand looking flat and lacking in volume with my thin hair already.
These days, I don't always section my hair, but I will still apply some curl cream, gel, or mousse throughout my hair. Scrunch and then blow-dry, SOTC, and fluff out my hair. This method gives me a bit of definition, some frizz, and, in turn, some volume, which I like.
Thanks for sharing your experimentation. I like both methods on you because you have very thick hair. You can apply a lot of products without weighing your hair down, but you still get lots of volumes. :)

I’m so glad you experiment and see what works for you. Not every routine works for everyone. I can definitely see why you would like more volume… have you tried using hair spray on your hair too ? Also mousses and foams are great to help creat volume 🥰
