Monarch, clair and Zen are all good, but at the moment I think clair has the best tuning. Zen is more about the technical performance of a DD, but the tuning would be in third place out of those three. I think it depends on what you're looking for.

You need to check out what optimal target curves are for IEMs. 'V-shaped' is a very different thing for IEMs, that's more like the Valkyrie or Hero. Look at those FRs and then compare it to the Monarch, which is by contrast very normal - just with a bass shelf.
@@ResolveReviews Oh wow and I was thought that all iems should follow the headphone harman target 😅, surprisingly the Monarch has a perfect FR! Amazing!.
This kind of bass boost works great for me, it's just the amount looks maybe a bit much for me. Loving the Dusks balance, this seems like a noticeably bigger subs boost. Am I right?
Andrew, thanks for the excellent review. In terms of resolution, can Monarch compete with open-back headphones like HD800, Clear or Arya? I'm looking for an iem that can complement my HD800 but not really willing to sacrifice details. If no, how about U12t that's currently on 20% off?
In my opinion IEMs do not rival the technical performance of over-ear headphones, in part due to the limitations of balanced armature drivers. But... for portable use, or for those who can't stand wearing something on their heads, some IEMs like the Monarch, U12t and Odin do offer really good performance.
@@TheHEADPHONEShow Ah, that's a shame. I'm planning to use iem for my noisy work place. I guess that's as best as BA can do. Thank you for your opinion :)
My only worry is I love trance which I imagine the Monach will do amazingly, but then I also listen to metal which I imagine needs more midbass. What happened to your iem reviews 😢
Why all iem have v-shaped sound? is it because how the closed nature sound?
Am I right?
Andrew where can I get that blue hoodie with the bike on it? ty!
No idea, I stole it from my brother
Isn't the bass present like a great subwoofer all the time kind of living it's own life, not bleeding to the mids but one wishes it blends better...❓🙂
I can't bring my HD800s - I don't want my colleague to know I'm listening to Britney Spears :D
I used to have Moondrop Blessing 2 that I found has better resolution than HD6xx (driven by the same topping E30/L30 stack). I guess that's as best as BA can do.
Thank you for your opinion :)
Would you recommend the monarch for genres such as edm, jpop, orchestral, and other modern genres?
Yes.
@@TheHEADPHONEShow thanks for the reply! Love the reviews keep it going! :))
So the monarch has better overall bass slam than 64audio nio?
Bass slam seems pretty close on monarch and nio. Both are fantastic!
Are you in India?
@@IndianVillan Ohio. 😂
@@johnhayes8476 That was meant for Onkar actually...😁
@@IndianVillan i know lol
Would the 175ohm impedance adapter work with the Oracle to increase the bass?
Where can I get a 20 ohm adapter?
Penon Audio
@@TheHEADPHONEShow thanks!
This vs anole vx?
Waiting for the fiio fh3 review eagerly 🙏
Monarch vs Voyager 14?
Haven't heard the voyager yet. On my list
My only worry is I love trance which I imagine the Monach will do amazingly, but then I also listen to metal which I imagine needs more midbass.
But it may be enough considering the advanced technical abilities
I wish the 20ohm adapter could be used balanced (for example with the 2.5mm) but apparently it cannot
❤❤
Monarch vs blessing 2 dusk
I.e.m which best under 500$
Sony IER-M7
PURPLE?!
Makes it sound better
@@TheHEADPHONEShow and taste better too.
oof, just purchased some andromedas a week ago
I mean, Andromeda is good too. I can see reasons why people would prefer that
@@TheHEADPHONEShow The resell valume for the andros are good so I guess I know what to go for if i get bored of the sound. I look forward to your clairvoyance review
The good bass, bla bla. I got Moondrop S8 and the basse is the perfect for my taste. I really recommend this one for the quality of the sound over the monarch.
Only for bass?????
No the rest of it is great too

Are you biased towards expensive?
Not sure what you mean, but.. these are really good value
Some of the best iems are a little more expensive. Imagine that.
@@johnhayes8476 I am not talking about this Review. Just in general. Also it‘s a fair question since many seem to like expensive stuff better without it sounding better.
@@chuckyfox9284 The Monarch sounds better than less expensive stuff and it sounds better than more expensive stuff. I state multiple times in this review that it competes at much higher price tags, so I'm still confused about what you mean. Also, just in general, I'll be the first person to say that performance isn't always proportional with price. There are lots of examples where that's just not the case - and I think the more experience you have with a wider range of stuff the more evident that becomes. But, there are also examples where expensive stuff is also better.
Hi ! A very good day to you & who like to ask you a sincere advice ,i have the Cayin N8ii DAP Player & i have Mostly music in SACD iso format on 1 BIT DAC recording which doesnt allow me to do EQ on the player . I need a IEM whom it warmth on sound quality, rich tonality balance , smooth vocal , good sound staging , treble timbre doesnt like sparkling or bright harsh treble ,balance sound, like to have bass frequency but not muddy & bleed to mid or mid high . Hope to hear from you soon , a lot in the store sell what they want for profit rather then customer looking for the actually IEM
