The red deer (Cervus elaphus) is a deer species native only to Europe and Western Asia, it comprises of eight extant subspecies, the Alpine Red Deer (Cervus elaphus hippelaphus) the Italian Red Deer (Cervus elaphus italicus), the Iberian Red Deer (Cervus elaphus hispanicus), the Swedish Red Deer (Cervus elaphus elaphus), the Norwegian Red Deer (Cervus elaphus atlanticus), the Scottish Red Deer (Cervus elaphus scoticus), the Crimean Red Deer (Cervus elaphus brauneri), and the Caspian Red Deer (Cervus elaphus maral).

Also these deer are only deer native to north Africa, so north near Europe. They are well known deer species of europe, along with fallow deer and roedeer

@wildguy4773, actually, due to Cervus elaphus being rendered as polyphyletic, the red deer (Cervus elaphus) is an exclusively European species, which therefore now considers the mediterranean deer, barbary deer, caspian deer, hangul, and elk/wapiti that are native to the Mediterranean islands, North Africa, Western Asia, Central Asia, East Asia, and North America respectively as separate species from the red deer, so the treatment of the mediterranean deer, barbary deer, caspian deer, hangul, and elk/wapiti as conspecific with the red deer is outdated, as a matter of fact, the Red Deer (Cervus elaphus), Mediterranean Deer (Cervus corsicanus), Barbary Deer (Cervus barbarus), Caspian Deer (Cervus maral), Hangul (Cervus hanglu), and Elk/Wapiti (Cervus canadensis) are the only six extant deer species constituting the Cervus genus, which means that the Cervus genus is now restricted only to the red deer and extant species that used to be conspecific with it, whereas all other deer species that were never ever conspecific with the red deer do not belong to the Cervus genus anymore.

They’re magnificent creatures, the biggest mammal we have here in Scotland.
I love them and I have a large tattoo of a RD stag but they’re absolutely everywhere here now. They’re no longer wild in places, daft tourists are hand feeding them which, in the long term, is not helping the deer.

I’m knowledgeable of red stag bolving, but have never heard one bugle. Did your foley team add it in or were these recorded in the Carpathians?
