RUN THE RACE
As we start a new year, Hebrews 12 is an exhortation on how we need to run the Christian Race and the role of discipline in a christian's life. The Christian race is not a stroll in the park, but an agonizing and enduring marathon.

I praise & thank God for raising up such powerful expositors of God’s word among the youth. This is a powerful msg which is not to be missed !
Everything changes, but God’s word alone remains constant. Life is a race, Christian race is not a sprint but a marathon. We are not alone in this race but encouraged & inspired by numerous saints, each bearing witness to a life of faith, so we should emulate & run our race steadily with endurance.
The greatest obstacle in this race is our own baggage which we carry, the many sins that entangle & weigh us down hindering our speed which must be got rid of & fix our eyes only on Jesus the author & perfecter of our faith, have a heart of love & be at peace with all. We must make sure we run carefully, following the rules ,but when they are broken, not only regret but also repent. Accept discipline without complaining, for God disciplines those He loves. We must willingly obey God & value His blessings & run with great joy for we have a reward awaiting us, at the end of the race promised by our Redeemer.
The old covenant was given to Moses at Mt. Sinai ,the mtn of fear bcoz sinful man could not approach a holy God . But Mt. Zion, the mtn of Joy which represents heavenly Jerusalem is approachable as God has made a way for us to come near Him through the blood of Jesus. Hence the consequences of ignoring the new covenant will be much more. May God give us the grace to live for Him alone who has given us His all & at the end of our race hear Him say “well done good & faithful servant”
