It's actually really clever...If Shepard can get away with bringing an entire geth platform aboard, then Tali's geth parts shouldn't have been an issue (Then again, neither Tali nor Shepard know the reason for the trial until they step aboard)

Bringing an active Geth onboard a Quarian Foltilla when one of your teammates is accused of bringing active Geth to the fleet, good idea Shepard. What's next, giving the Reapers the keys to the cities of Earth?
Jarock316 Y'know, that could actually be a valid tactic (in terms of the trial). Make them realize what kind of precedent they'd be setting, and who they'd be setting it against... namely, the #1 person in the galaxy whose bad side you do not want to be on.
@@nexusshark it was a moot point regardless bringing a member of the quarians worst enemy in a trial involving a member of there own race is the worst possible thing you could do regardless of the circumstances
1:50: Kar'Danna: "I can't guarantee your safety." Shepard: "I single-handedly defeated an army of slavers while I was on vacation, I fight galaxy-killing eldritch horrors for a living, and I'm currently assembling a team to curb-stomp the thing that blew up my ship and killed me two years ago. I can guarantee my own damn safety."
I think its to give him a bit more expression. This particular "chassis" of Legion's was made specifically for interaction with organics both as a diplomatic envoy and to study their behavior. It has to be able to use charm and guile as well as force. The Geth under Saren didn't have to do that. Neither did the ordinary ones past the perseus veil. Legion also behaves in a more childlike manner than most of the Geth. Everything about it is intended to illicit a kinship response in organics. Part of Legion's mission was determining the threat level the organics beyond the veil posed to the Geth. Which compared to them, IMO, I think the Geth could really hold their own against most organic attackers. They did it for 300 years. They want to survive, but they don't want to be isolated. So Legion is there to test the waters so to speak.
"Yo dawg, I heard you've been accused of treason for bringing active Geth onboard, so I brought an active Geth onboard to prove your innocence for bringing active Geth onboard."
@Roger Clarke all those stores were different in terms of what they sold though....I think. One did armor, one was biotics and one was tech stuff. So have a favorite for different needs makes sense....
For those windering what happens if you take the interupt, Shepard lierally interrupts the Captain telling him that while he/she respects him defending his ship, don't try to intimidate him/her, else Shepard will take off his/her mask and breathe on everything. Then it just goes to the normal second dialogue circle. Pretty much it is just an alternate quote.
Prior to release, ME2 devs were intending you to have Legion at the beginning of the game providing story around how Shepard's body was recovered and delivered to Cerberus and the tie in with Liara and the LotSB DLC. You were supposed to be able to play Legion apparently in the recovery. However, devs thought it would've been too convoluted for newcomers if they stuck with that story line. Would've been badass IMHO.
Tali is charged of returning active Geth to the flotilla. As her "Captain" you should defend her against those charges and do it by bringing an active Geth to her trial... Genius =D
to be fair to Shepard, nobody said what Tali was charged with. They left her 100% in the dark so that if she really didn't know anything her response would be genuine.
I did this knowing it was gonna cause a scene. I just had to see how it was gonna play out. Even during the trail he gets called out "Security, there is a geth present!!"
>Trying to get no man left behind ach >Recruits rest of the 3 members of team (after got the IFF and legion) >EDI is gonna test IFF before I did assasins and talis loyalty mission >uh oh >crew is rip >ffs
Why would Shepard do this? To show them how badass he is. Bringing Geth and Talia accused of bringing active geth onboard, then shouting at their judges, show them how foolish they are and flying away...
Geth are interesting... Originally a simle VI, made for manual labour (far from an AI, which the Council forbid to create). In time the quarians made a few tweaks, allowing them to solve more problems if networked. This is where they messed up. They gained consiousness and sentience though interacting with one another. Only a small group answered the call from the Reapers btw X) They are the ones we fight in ME1-2 As for their uprising: the quarians made it a mess. Geth didn't react to it at first, hell they even protected the symphatisers! oO However, when the paranoid goverment started to kill symphatisers and geth left and right they rose up and eradicated nearly 99% of their population (in a few days at that...). Overkill? Yes. Understandable? Yup. I dont think its being wrong to eliminate all possibility to get exterminated (in a logic driven, panic packed, survivalist thinking). The geth were made sure the quarians are no longer a threat to their race (hence why they left the remaining 17 million alive). In ME3, the story repeats itself: geth try to make a megaserver (uploading a huge quantity of their people there to do so), since they realised the threat the reapers posed.... which the Quarians found. They bombed the place to shrapnels, making a huge quantity of their race vanish (they CAN die if they dont have another place to upload themselves to when the platform housing them is destroyed). Which led them back to their survival instincts (again...) just this time they joined up with Reapers ^^; Leading to the possible annihiliation of the quarians for good... If you let Legion upload the reaper code, the geth will become true intelligence, true individuals each. They can rebuild Rannoc AND help their former masters to regain their place + in time to live without a suit. If you ask me, this is like a silly Romeo and Juliet play, when people just jump the gun and misunderstand things. Just change the poison to guns and you have it :P
And lol, I did this too XD It was great to smack their ignorance into their face x) especially at the end when they realise they were idiots xD (with the geth helping them rebuilding/losing their suits in time)
Kilgar History is equal parts heroism, tragedy and misunderstanding. Good world building presents a history the same way. The Quarians mistake is referenced in a lot of human history and accompanying philosophy. Agriculture led to civilization, led to industrialization, led to the environmental issues we have now. Its called the Frankenstein Theory, what you create kills you.
Hm that was a nice train of thought :) Actually I think thats the main reason why I love the ME series so much. People can relate to it easily, since despite the hi-tech setting, Shepard and the whole world (even the alien races!) bring up old, quite human-like problems. Like the Krogans or Quarians. But even the Salarians show some of our history or personality traits =) And good to know, didn't know about that theory. Quite ironic to be named after that though :D
xD well indeed, it cuold be inspired by the "Frank Herbert: The White Plague" a bit =) But I think we can all find one or two interesting conncetion between the ME races and their stories and our history for sure :D Thats what makes it easier to relate to ^^ And yea, Krogan history is like a grim reminder for Hirosima and Nagasaki, just on a huge scale.
I don't know if many people realize that, but when they say that Legion is cute when he is tilting his head or whatever... he in angry in reality (his lights go red like *SPOILER* when you chose the quarians on Rannoch and he starts attacking you *SPOILER*, which indicates he is angry).
+Lola D Legion having red lights is just the alternate costume for completing his loyalty mission. Which means that this loyalty mission for Tali must have been the last thing he did, because once you activate legion, you have a 2 mission countdown before the end mission triggers
The light demonstrates his "mood", but there was an archive, I think, on the ME2's folder where you may see the steps of the development of Legion, and the opening and closing of his head's thing was made on purpose to emulate brows to make him more charismatic
I find it weirdly adorable/hilarious the way Legion says "our exterior shell is 72% polymer..." in such a small voice, and then the captain snaps "Quiet!" like he runs into Geth doing this ALL THE TIME.
I love how Tali is charged with treason for sending deactivated Geth parts to the flotilla, but she is totally justified in bringing Legion on-board when Shepard says (essentially), "It's cool, he's with me."
Storywise it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to bring Legion onto a quarian ship. But there's just too much unique dialogue, and the comical nature of the situation is too much to resist.
Shepard: if legion gets out of line ill take it out myself. Tali: if legion acts suspiciously ill kill it. Legion: you know what staying on the ship doesn't sound like a bad idea!

Why is it the DA bonus armor in Mass Effect looks more like the DA:O trailer armor then ANYTHING in Origin!? It wasn't until DAII that armor model like that existed, and it wasn't until the DLC for it came out that the player could use it. And god do I wish I still had my 360 copy of DA:O so I could get that armor for ME2. Why I have to register my games and just just make it a free DLC on XBLA since they made it free anyway I'll never know. Same with the Collector gear.
@Poporine for the 360 you only get the dragon armor from the early release when it comes with the codes for the armor and the golem....later copies dont have the code.
@YorkJonhson Kar'Danna: *shoots Shepard several time* "There can't be too careful *looks at Legion... and starts shooting* Tali: "You just killed my Captain!" Kar'Danna: "And? I wanted Legion off so I shot him too." Shepard and Legion walk in. Tali: "But..." Shepard: *presses button and it turns out it was Miranda and Zaeed disguised as them* "Good job telling me they would do that Legion." Legion: "Of course Shepard." Kar'Danna tries to shoot them again but he is out of ammo.
You can do exact 2 missions after acquiring the reaper iff (unless this is the last missions available). Then the reapers will come. So no you don't have to cheat, which means you can also bring him to the citadel and get re-instated with the bonus dialogue. After the reapers have come you can do 1-2 missions before your crew gets, yes something i'm unsure what exactly happens to them.
Valid strategy in my opinion, it basically says ‘we can bring Geth with us if we want to, why would need to smuggle them? Furthermore, why would she bother? She can study Legion in real time onboard Normandy. Why would go out of her way to find other Geth when interacting with one if not the most independent unit they have?’
@VioletStar1700 Some interesting replies from the Admirals (Xen wants to examine him, Han'Gerral mostly says he hopes the Geth wipes enough of eachother out, Koris gets mad because Legion is at a military trial but Raan says that Danna allowed it and it is the Captain who has that right. Koris also asks if the Geth are open to peace. The guard for the shuttle to the Alerai draws his gun. Random comments from others including one saying he is going to transfer for it.
Despite this tension. The fact that basically no Quarians during the trial recognize Legion's message from the Geth shows how detached Quarian culture is from sensibility. If you can't find peace in ME3. Always side with the Geth- they were ones trying to co-exist peacefully
The only way to prove Tali didn't bring active Geth to the fleet is to bring an active Geth into the fleet

Kar'Danna: *shoots Shepard several time* "There can't be too careful *looks at Legion... and starts shooting*
Tali: "You just killed my Captain!"
Kar'Danna: "And? I wanted Legion off so I shot him too."
Shepard and Legion walk in.
Tali: "But..."
Shepard: *presses button and it turns out it was Miranda and Zaeed disguised as them* "Good job telling me they would do that Legion."
Legion: "Of course Shepard."
Kar'Danna tries to shoot them again but he is out of ammo.
@DarkLordDiablos I like that about the armor as well. Makes it seem more involved and not just simply a cosmetic and slight bonus to power and shields
Don't mess with the Polymer.
@gamingeagle19
yes i realizes now how stupid that was
but i was trying to free up hard drive space and had accidentally chose to delete everything
Our exterior shell is 72% Polymer. = Epic win
"How about you step aside and we call it scrap metal."
"Our hull is 72% Polymer."
"I DON'T GIVE A SHIT NOOB! GTFO THE FLOTILLA!"
@Poporine Sounds like a good idea. That's what I would've done.
I doubt that's what happens, though.
I never thought about doing this. My god this is brilliant.
really like the look of that armor
what about the renegade action?
Despite this tension. The fact that basically no Quarians during the trial recognize Legion's message from the Geth shows how detached Quarian culture is from sensibility. If you can't find peace in ME3. Always side with the Geth- they were ones trying to co-exist peacefully
I love how Tali is on trial for sending active geth to the Flotila but yet its perfectly fine that this Geth just shows up for her trial lol
it the last main storyline mission yes but you can complete any characters loyalty missions after the suicide mission (if they survive)
And this is why Tali's loyalty mission is always the first mission I do after the derelict reaper.
I love how Legion just stands there like "Hello there, how are you all?" With their guns pointed directly at his optics.
exactly, do EVERYTHING ELSE but Tali's mission and then get the IFF
@iamnuff1992
it may suck for other classes but the sentinel takes advantage of its increased shield capacity
