I'm a GTASA fan living in Japan. I was very surprised to find that there is a mod that recreates Japan so realistically. (Although there are many things I would like to point out...) This video is the perfect version of the game I had always dreamed of, I'm very impressed, thank you.

@@donovan847There is nothing related to GTA, Angel Studios (turned into Rockstar San Diego) wanted to put Tokyo map during the development of the first Midnight Club game, but due of lack of time, Tokyo was only added on Midnight Club 2. Midnight Club was developed by a different studio, not the same one who developed GTA.
Kinda related too. Since they have car dealership and garage business in San Fierro. This would fit the timeline of them getting to it. The Driving School Optional mission is too short, this would be a great additional to it. Oh. Screw you wheelie weave!
Love these types of GTA San Andreas mod conversions where it competely changes the game in a way by having a new entire map, new custom made missions and dialouge, maybe some new cars and peds too. I feel like it gives a whole new experience in a way, kind of like the Alien City/Anderius mod. It's pretty cool! Would love to see this get expanded into its own thing.
as someone who studied abroad in Japan last year from march to august, this made me feel at peace with my time there. Granted I studied in Kyoto I feel like I can finally let go you know? weird feeling from a gta video lol, but either way I loved seeing this

I love how this mod mix-match some different maps from other games such as Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune and i assume some other maps from Yakuza and Persona series. And some random Japanese-themed map from Garry's Mod such as Gm_Akiba for the Akihabara-like scenery.
@@saltyboost I could already tell it’s from WMMT. It’s got this art style that is so recognisable somehow, especially WMMT3-4. We could actually see that WMMT4’s Fukuoka Map on one of the cutscenes when CJ’s making his way to Tokyo. The barriers and the building with the blue advertising board is what gives it away. Not sure about Nagoya and Osaka, possibly ripped from WMMT3-3DX+ because of the bridge lighting in Nagoya, the barriers are ripped from WMMT4 though.

Nagoya lighting is almost identical within two versions of the game during night mode. also in Nagoya's case, there should be a 3 or 3dx+ signboard on 11:16 which was different here.

What is interesting is that Capcom, who worked as the localization and publisher of the GTA series, was planning the Tokyo version of GTA [Shinjuku no Ookami]. Because it didn't meet the quality demanded by Capcom, it ended up being taken over by a company called Spike Chunsoft and released in 2009... The quality...how, if it was released in the early PS2, it would have been said to be a good product.😢

Fun fact: There was supposed to be a GTA game set in Tokyo sometime between GTA 2 and 3, but it was cancelled.
I was just about to say this too! They actually cancelled and used the Tokyo map on MC3: Tokyo Challenge.

That Akihabara city is originally a map mod for gta sa made in 2010~2011 by GtaSaKon, the garry's mod Gm_Akiba is a different map if not a conversion
