Just a tip when you show replay. Let us see the whole situation first without any pauses, then you can rewind and pause with commentary. Its kind of anoying to watch through situations the first time when you pause every 2-3 second.

Jon, not sure if you have considered this before, but on the big tackles, I would love to see you get the yellow card out much quicker. If you show the yellow immediately, the decision is made. You can cool everything by jumping on that, then use the watch afterwards. I didnt see how you locate your cards, but my front short pocked allows me to just swing that bad boy out, showing authority in the decision and a swiftness that negates a LOT of the chat that comes from opponent players. Would love to get feedback from others...?

This is exactly the comment I was going to make! I’ve adopted this approach when I’m certain in my head it is a yellow and I want to minimise any mass con. However, it does lead to observers and others noting that you probably haven’t taken the time to consider everything if you get the yellow straight out.

@@manno9715 I have never, EVER made a fast decision and had anyone claim that I made it too quickly. IMO, given all perspectives, fast is often best when it comes to cards.

You are totally right a quick yellow card would have been ideal in this situation! The reason for me not doing this is because I have always been taught a process - isolate the player calm them down then show the yellow. This year I have added a yellow card into my pocket to allow me to do a quick yellow however it hasn't become a habit yet, meaning that when the big moments happen I resort to what I know and feel comfortable doing. But it is something I feel I need to add to my game.

this is a very unique way English referee deal with situation. Latin referee always show card right away. Part is cultural different , but clearly the Latin way is more decisive and better for this issues

An advantage that ends in a goal is the best, isn't it! I thought your analysis of the game was pretty good. One thing to note on the reckless tackle is your AR1 does a good job initially of coming onto the pitch, lending some presence and making sure the physio is called on. He might have done more, though, to help you avoid getting surrounded while isolating the offender - something you may talk about for future games that you expect may be hot.

It is the greatest feeling in the world! both ARs were quick to react when things got alittle bit tense and this makes things alot easier! to be honest calling the physio on late was on me and the player as he didnt reply straight away.

Wasn't the penalty a yellow because of the situation/consequence as the attacker would have a clear and good attempt on goal?

I thought the penalty was just a late clumsy challenge and them conceding a penalty was enough punishment

for the second yellow why not a caution for the challenge and then a sin bin for dissent, kicking the ball away giving him and everyone time to calm down, the first one could have been red, don’t think they could have argued it, he looks off the floor coming in with force. Why no sin bin for the last newhaven player, losing man really sends a message, especially in tight games

Thats a good point i to be honest didnt even notice that i looked straight at the challanged and then focused on trying to make sure that players stayed calm! I still dont think its a red i think hes tried to pull out and makes contact with only 1 foot and the studs are down! With the last yellow i Cautioned the player for deylaying the restart rather than discent as thats what i thought it was.
