Just got back from the Detroit auto show. People were lining up to sit in the Corvette… not one person was standing beside or near the Charger EV. There were more people trying to sit in the new Santa Fe even 😂
Wonder how many of the 82 will brick or have warranty issues in the next 6 months. It maybe like Jag recalling all of there EV or Porsche some 26,000 Taycan ( both for battery issues) . Got a text asking me about an Charger EV order. After hearing TK and others reviewing it, I have no wish to buy. Run, run away. Tesla is a better buy.
That thing was a flop before they starting producing them. Had they gone with the ICE models from the jump they could have built excitement around the EV model as a Tesla competitor, but Tavares was hellbent on pushing this thing out.
You know is bad when in comparison: Even more people bought SXT, GT & R/T Chargers in 2015 82 Daytonas in 2025?, yeah…kill it…and give us a PROPER MUSCLE CAR
They deserve to fail. If you let one person make crazy decisions for the whole company and nobody does anything you have some responsibility. Also letting dealers walk all over customers. This is the consequences of their actions.
Hey TK, I know you said to call out dealers that don’t honor the price they posted in their online ad in an earlier video. Well, I hope you see this. Waldorf Dodge/Ram of Maryland posted an ad online for a 2025 Ram 1500 Tradesman for $40,512. I called them and they said “nah, that’s the price if you qualify for all the (bs) discounts like current Ford customer, police officer, first responder…” Scummy dealers need to be reported and shut down
I wonder how many of the 82 orders are youtubers wanting to thrash it or "influencers" who don't know any better. Of course, it might be a collectors item considering how few will be made. I bet initial depreciation is 50%.
I think you're being too kind. I'd guess well more than 50%, maybe even 60% or 70%. It's a very belabored point, but just who in the heck did they think was really going to buy these? The performance is not as promised, the effective range is a joke, the Fratzonic appears to be equal parts cringe and laughable, the pricing is beyond laughable. Then, to top all of that off, most of them don't even work! It's getting more and more difficult - to not think that clown Carlos Tavares was specifically acting with bad faith and ill intent. He was trying hard to sink the brand (at least) and, more probably, all of CDJR.
@ just have to wait till they figure out the same will apply to this EV “charger”. They’ll other a zero interest lease when they realize there’s zero interest in the car.
T.K., crown dodge here in Chattanooga Tennessee got 2 of them in today, I stopped in and saw them, they were still in the back, $70k with less than 300 mi,e range.
I mean if and when people could drive one it might get more orders but there are zero in dealerships. And nobody wants a car with an exhaust tuned in a partnership with Hoover and Bose.
I would be real interested to see how many of those 82 vehicles actually last longer than a year maybe two good stuff though bro keep up the great work. Have a good one and I’ll catch you on the next one.
I was recently watching a video on the new Charger EV. The sells rep said they can be charged at a Tesla charging station. I have not seen anything from Tesla backing that up. TK can you confirm this claim.
They did not even to basic marketing (identify profile of perspective customer, and then target advertising to them to stimulate demand) Who is the customer for a $60k+ large 2 door electric powered Chrysler Corporation sedan (both New and as an Off-lease 3 year old car)?
I looked at a Hornet priced at $53,000. At the Dodge dealer TK talks about, Towbin Dodge in Las Vegas. Even if they cut the price in half I would have passed on it. I poked and pried and tried to understand the car. It was comfortable to sit in, the engine had a nice snarl but it was so complicated and had so many things to break I would have been afraid to own it.
TK, you and all the other youtubers been right for months. This is not shocking... we knew it was over months ago. KT great job and on the pod cast with the other youtubers! You the man!
What was the previous video about dying after five miles……that’s just over 400 miles range combined….SEC won’t investigate…..foreign ownership….Stellantis will hide behind that….I would like to see that letter of explanation with the deposit refund check. They will probably take many years and customers letters…or lawyers of the customers to make whole…. Hope they didn’t sell or trade their current Charger……TK……thanks for validating why I am keeping my 22 HEMI Daytona….3rd place Mopar Nationals first time up.
I'm seeing Hornets pop up in Windsor now.. Must be giving them away to Stellantis employees and family... and friends... and acquaintances... and anyone that might know an employee... or even say they do.
If Uncle Carlos’s was still around he would still approve production and deliveries….just to satisfy his own ego………. Making the Pinto and Vega not sound so bad after all!
I don’t have lots of money but want to start dealing with few cars. I know you use lots of apps to check vehicle info and vehicle scores. I looked and they are expensive. Do you recommend one over the rest? I’ll be auction buying
I'm sorry, WHAT! I am so surprised. Like actually surprised. BTW, my town has an order for a charger ev! Guess my town is one of the unlucky ones!! Hehehehe😂😅😊
I finally got to drive one! The handling is orders of magnitude above any Challenger I've had due to the weight distribution. I'm in love; it's goofy, a nice contrast to the mommy-mobiles and phallic extensions that dominate the roads. TK, I'm curious about your opinion about this situation! Do you think the lack of orders is due to the car being an EV? Or, do you think it has to do more with the widespread negative press (warranted) concerning their launch reliability?
I'm not sure moving the Waggy S to Belvidere would make it competitive. The local CDJR store in my neighborhood lists several Waggy's on it's web site as "in transit". The window stickers are visible. The thing is only 24% US/Canadian parts. 48% Mexican and 23% from Hungary. If tariffs are imposed. moving final assembly, without moving the entire supply chain, will still result in a pretty expensive car. The Charger is shows as 51% US/Canadian parts, 28% Mexican, 17% Hungarian. How much of that 51% is Canadian, thus subject to another threatened tariff? And if they move the Waggy S and/or Charger to Belvidere, to duck US tariffs, they lose tariff free access to the EU, just as the Mach-E would lose access to the EU, if it was moved to the US from Mexico.
I'm 61. Love all 60s 70s even a few 80s muscle cars. "Loved" the sound, smell n ease of maintenance. Cap,rotor, plugs n wires, rebuild a carb. Evs have a place in this world but not as a Charger nameplate. How can you tell if she's running rough if you can't hear it n feel it? Does a speaker reproduce that too? I'd rather not cut my cruise night on the boulevard cuz I gotta find a charging station. That thing there is the brainchild of a dude that never changed his own oil.
For a comparison, the Ferrari F40 was originally slated to be produced in less than 400 units but they actually ended up building more than 1200 units. Ferrari F40, the first ever hypercar alongside the Porsche 959. The Charger EV theoretically should be a mass market vehicle. Okay it's just the first months but it's quite funny 😂
I mean who could have seen this coming? Who could have figured out really complicated stuff like trying to produce and sell a product that does not line up at all with your current customer base would not do well. I mean, that’s the kind of stuff only a CEO being paid, idk, $39 million per year would be able to figure out. Or something.
This is Matt Mcalear's time to show us what he is made of. Is he brave enough to do what is needed and kill the EV version of this car? This entire sad episode will be studied in business schools in the future; Mcalear can either write his name into it as the adult in the room that said "Enough!", or he can be lumped in with Tavares and double down on failure. Whatcha gonna do, Matt?
I think customers who buy electric cars do more research before buying than ice car buyers. And anyone who researched the Charger would only get it because of how it looks. I've only met a few people who bought an electric car because it was a good deal and not based on research. Charger is a hard sell when compared to a proven Tesla.
The should have marketed this vehicle as a fun pony car alternative to the appliance like electric cars rather than muscle car performance that they can't deliver. Back in 1968 they sold lots of 318 chargers.
Theyre going to keep a parts inventory for those? Mark my words they will drop the car and attempt to buy them back after a while so they can scrap them...write the loss off...and destroy the spare parts.
Remember that the dealers buy the cars. So given that their are roughly 2,400 dealers in the US. If each was required to purchase 4 cars, that means Dodge will record 9600 units sold. New titled vehicle sales will be the issue. Either way, Dodge makes the $$ as long as they keep pushing the dealers.
Honestly, if I were in the market for an EV, instead of a brick, and willing to overspend for a car, I might actually go for one of these things. Of course, I would be driving it modestly, offending MOPAR guys everywhere. But they had better give it a good sound. Last week I heard the "swishy" sound of a battery-powered BMW iX SUV in Target's parking lot. Since the law says EVs have to make sounds now to alert blind people, Stellantis had better make this baby sound menacing and authentic !
Stop making the pile. I think it is ugly. Bring back the Challenger and make it a Cuda with a different grill and taillights with the HEMIs. In the mean time, make the Charger fit some HEMIs. Bring back the Chrysler 300 as a New Yorker or Imperial.
Too bad Mr. Norm ain’t around anymore, Stellantis could have shipped that abomination to Grand Spaulding Dodge and they would have figured out how to drop a Hemi in it. 🤣
So I'm going to record that event still but I'm waiting for my extended warranties and all the extra stuff I got on my vehicle loan to be canceled because I just got a new car less than 2 months ago but I will get it done as soon as I get there I think it's going to take 45 days for me to see the refund
Seen that coming lol. Who want a 5700 pound 670 hp EV with fake engine noises. The Dodge Durango prob won't be able to keep the Dodge brand alive with the Hornet with being a flat out fail.
Carlos needs to be put in prison as an example for all corporations.
my wife said carlos looks like REN on the old REN & STIMPY cartoons. he truly is a weasel.
I think that is funny...330 plus million people live in the US and only 82 ordered the car. That speaks volumes.
It's not what the market wants. People want a V8, a muscle car.
This is what social engineering gets us.
Just got back from the Detroit auto show. People were lining up to sit in the Corvette… not one person was standing beside or near the Charger EV. There were more people trying to sit in the new Santa Fe even 😂
82 people bought it? Here’s your sign😅
I was surprised to even hear that number actually...😂😂😂 I guess some people had to be first.
82 really smart people.
@@ronmexico5908 I ordered one can't wait to get it
That thing was a flop before they starting producing them. Had they gone with the ICE models from the jump they could have built excitement around the EV model as a Tesla competitor, but Tavares was hellbent on pushing this thing out.

82 Daytonas in 2025?, yeah…kill it…and give us a PROPER MUSCLE CAR
Hey TK,I'm working in a Jeep dealer in Canada and from today, the EV rebate is gone.
It's not at risk, it IS A FLOP.......
They deserve to fail. If you let one person make crazy decisions for the whole company and nobody does anything you have some responsibility. Also letting dealers walk all over customers. This is the consequences of their actions.

Call attorney Dan Whitman in Towson. He specializes in suing car dealers, and they have to pay his fees when he wins.👀💯
I wonder how many of the 82 orders are youtubers wanting to thrash it or "influencers" who don't know any better. Of course, it might be a collectors item considering how few will be made. I bet initial depreciation is 50%.
More than half I imagine.

It's getting more and more difficult - to not think that clown Carlos Tavares was specifically acting with bad faith and ill intent. He was trying hard to sink the brand (at least) and, more probably, all of CDJR.
Being out sold by the fiat 500e 🤡🚗
Probably since you can get it almost for free on a lease deal in Colorado.
Captain Carlos you have hit a iceberg
Now why does that flop not surprise me? Oh, now I remember.. it was 'developed' when Tavares was the CEO. 😂😂😂
TK'S Garage Friend keep up the great work !!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪💪👍👍👍
So they actually found 82 sucker's lol
Who are these crazy 82 people?!
I mean if and when people could drive one it might get more orders but there are zero in dealerships. And nobody wants a car with an exhaust tuned in a partnership with Hoover and Bose.
Does it sound like it has glasspacks or flowmasters?
A “woke” car selling only 82 copies?? Who’da thunk it?? ☺️
I would be real interested to see how many of those 82 vehicles actually last longer than a year maybe two good stuff though bro keep up the great work. Have a good one and I’ll catch you on the next one.
Sheesh…I didn’t even think about the sale comparisons to the hornet. That’s nasty work…
I was recently watching a video on the new Charger EV. The sells rep said they can be charged at a Tesla charging station. I have not seen anything from Tesla backing that up. TK can you confirm this claim.
Hornet, the price point was so far off and that's why they didn't sell.
If Hornet was 20k it would sell
The Yugo may outsell this....
What was the production run? That is going to cost a lot.
The Dodge Charger R/T Daytona here in Canada 18kms on it on Car Gurus is $94,236 🤣🤣
A dealer in Tennessee got you beat, they want $102k for one
They did not even to basic marketing (identify profile of perspective customer, and then target advertising to them to stimulate demand)
Who is the customer for a $60k+ large 2 door electric powered Chrysler Corporation sedan (both New and as an Off-lease 3 year old car)?
In 10 years how much is one going to be worth. Very little sold now are they rare.
Zero or negative 60,000 because lithium ion batteries in vehicles don't last that long.
The new bitcoin!
Yikes 😬
It’s all about price. Same with Hornet. Price them where they should actually be at and they will sell.
So they built thousands of the car, but only sold 82?
And most of them will brick.....
These Kinda sales numbers even got Fiat USA in the office pulling rank on ‘em.
It’s a swing and a miss! So sad what has been done to a once great brand, happy to hear that change is coming!!
TK, you and all the other youtubers been right for months. This is not shocking... we knew it was over months ago. KT great job and on the pod cast with the other youtubers! You the man!

82 orders? Sounds more like the “national idiot list” and there’s 82 morons on it 😂😂😂😂
I'm seeing Hornets pop up in Windsor now.. Must be giving them away to Stellantis employees and family... and friends... and acquaintances... and anyone that might know an employee... or even say they do.
I’m shocked the number is that high
It’s very sad what they have done to this company
They've sold that many?

I'm sorry, WHAT! I am so surprised. Like actually surprised. BTW, my town has an order for a charger ev! Guess my town is one of the unlucky ones!! Hehehehe😂😅😊
This Dodge Charger Daytona Ev is going to be a disaster and only 82 orders 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That's a pretty good false blurring in the background. Is that an iphone?
I’ll get one when they are under 40k 😂
How many of the 82 will arrive bricked?
6 went to Castle Rock Dodge in Colorado
What will they do with them?
@@rogerrussell9544lot rot! 😂
Less than 85 people ordered one in a country of 340 million. Nice
Thats not even one fleet order😂😂😂
The six pack is not reliable, why don’t they use “COMMON SENSE” and bring back the V8’s to the Charger?
Wouldn’t buy a first year anything from CDJR. 😂
I'm 61. Love all 60s 70s even a few 80s muscle cars. "Loved" the sound, smell n ease of maintenance. Cap,rotor, plugs n wires, rebuild a carb. They will drop 75% in value in 18 months, I am not even kidding.
For a comparison, the Ferrari F40 was originally slated to be produced in less than 400 units but they actually ended up building more than 1200 units.

😂 You can add all the names to it you want it's still a POS 😂
REAL Chargers ended in 74. So happy to have one.
"At risk" of being a flop? Sounds to me that there are 82 severely misinformed people out there.
instead of “yee haw!”… it’s “hell nah!”
First Final Call🤣😂😂
This is Matt Mcalear's time to show us what he is made of. Is he brave enough to do what is needed and kill the EV version of this car?
This entire sad episode will be studied in business schools in the future; Mcalear can either write his name into it as the adult in the room that said "Enough!", or he can be lumped in with Tavares and double down on failure.
Whatcha gonna do, Matt?
Who could have seen this coming 😂😂😂
What a disaster, Ps is that a right hand drive your driving?
Long live the Fartzog!!!!😅
I'd say with only 82 orders, that pos is not worth setting up an assembly line for.
It’s just needs to be ordered in the Metallic Pea in a Charger EV Wagon. Then it will be the best seller ever! Can you say Family Truckster Clark!
I think customers who buy electric cars do more research before buying than ice car buyers. And anyone who researched the Charger would only get it because of how it looks.

I couldn’t afford it working for the damn company
I’m surprised they sold 82.
if they gave me one id pay someone to take it away.
4:38 Starting on January 20th 😜

It’s official? It’s been official!
A dealership near me put one up for sale on their website. For the scat pack they want 85K LMAO
When im in a "try not to destroy my own legacy" competition and my opponent is Dodge: 😱
It’s not a bad body, drop a hemi in it, it’ll literally fly off the lots regardless of the price
My truck has around 72k on
Chrysler Aspen is good idea.

Looks like they can include a special incentive for the firesale. Get a Charger EV free with the purchase of a leftover CDJR vehicle at 60% off MSRP.
Bring back the journey
Seen that coming lol. Who want a 5700 pound 670 hp EV with fake engine noises. The Dodge Durango prob won't be able to keep the Dodge brand alive with the Hornet with being a flat out fail.
YOU GOTTA REMEMBER THOSE ARE LIMITED EDITION AND LAST CALL EV'S ... LOL
Make it 83!
"fake engine noise" 😂
The Hornet looks terrible. So ugly.
It is a Stellantis product. Why take the risk?
