At 5.56 that behind the back is a thing of beauty, he receiver did not even need to move her hands, the ball hit her plumb centre. and like the vast majority of Clark's assists no dribbling needed, just open your hands expect the ball all the time and one step layup. I believe Caitlin Clark has already built a legend in her. When fans of other teams come to watch your game, it is a tribute for your excellence and ability to play the game ...the game has become about you, not their team. They cheer, of course, when their team wins, but when that cheer becomes louder as you leave the court, that is awesome: the fans are giving the well-deserved accolade.

I first heard of Caitlin near the end of her Iowa career. I've NEVER watched women's basketball, at all. Then watching her during playoffs at Iowa I was stunned. Of course, drafted 1st by the worst WNBA team and a stupid head coach who wanted to change her game. Of course, abused by jealous "talent" on the floor: White, Straight, Christian, Middle America. Their worst nightmare despite what she'll do for them by exploding viewership. Now rookie of the year. Should be league MVP. Viewership way up. I used to watch NBA way back when. Inside scoring and assisting, she really reminds me of Larry Bird, but her outside the arc shooting unbelievable. But just my opinion.

    • @tom7471
      @tom7471 23 часа назад

I disagree completely about Coach Sides. She had never tried to change CC's game and the team has improved greatly under her. She builds them up off the court and chastises them when they play poorly, like any decent coach will do. Sides has had to work with very middle of the road talent to get them above .500, not an easy task. Even now, they have about four or five real consistent players. You need much more than that to win a title. They are three or four good players away, maybe two of them starters, to get this team to the upper echelon. Basketball is a team sport where some individuals really shine, and CC is one such great. But MJ couldn't win it until he had a real crew with him. It is how the game works. Give Side a couple of more years before you throw her under the bus.

Very true. But they have got used to it. But the hater will just say she has the most turnovers.
WITHOUT saying 1) her teammates can't catch, 2) she gets trapped and loses the ball 3) she tries to get to cute and messes up. But it also shows she was learning the pace and speed and teammates. She's also getting rid of the ball with the assist record

    • @EverettCox-g8z
      @EverettCox-g8z 11 дней назад +1

I've watched quite a few games and her teammates are getting better and better at catching the ball. Sexy Lexie and Mitch are the top catchers now. Turnovers reduce as her teammates learn how to catch her passes. Boston and Stuelke are very good at low catches.

Pistol did it with crappy shoes, crappy basketballs and no one to emulate, meaning he created this type of player. Also, Pete played on very bad college teams. Props to Clark for putting in the time to reach these milestones. However, there will only ever be one "Pistol" and that is Pete Maravich. She needs her own moniker to set her apart.

Also, I think every other player in the WNBA should sit back and be appreciative of CC. TV ratings are through the roof, as well as attendance at the games, and also just about all of the world. Knows about the WNBA now. Her debut game intercepts was more about the rest of the team not picking up the passes from CC, now that they've gelled together the likes of Hull and Mitchell are taking all of them and upping their own production.
The fever look like a different team since Clark joined them, the defence are having to mark her from their own halfway line, because she's a threat from anywhere in the half court. This then opens up for her team mates to get position for some of those amazing passes she's spreading around the court.

STATS UPDATE - After the Minnesota Lynx game
    MOST ASSISTS IN A SEASON
316 = most assists in a season by Alyssa Thomas in 2023
294 = number of assists by Caitlin Clark in 2024 with 5 games remaining
4.4 = assists per game over the next 5 games to tie the record
    - Clark's per game average right now is 8.4 assists, so it is likely that she will set the WNBA assist record in her rookie season with 336 assists. She already has the rookie record.
MOST THREE POINTERS IN A SEASON
128 = most 3 pointers in a season by Sabrina Ionescu in 2023
107 = number of 3 pointers by Caitlin Clark in 2024 with 5 games remaining
4.2 = 3 pointers per game over the next 5 games to tie the record
    - Clark's per game average right now is 3.1 three pointers per game, so it is likely that she will fall short of breaking this record this season with 122 three pointers. That said, she is already sitting at #6 on the all-time list in this category and is trending to reach 2nd place. That is still pretty good for a rookie, yes? Also, A. Ogunbowale (101), K. McBride (95), S. Ionescu (94), and teammate K. Mitchel are also in this year's race.
MOST POINTS IN A SEASON BY A ROOKIE
744 = most points in a season by a rookie by Seimone Augustus in 2006
666 = number of points by Caitlin Clark in 2024 with 5 games remaining
15.6 = points per game needed over the next 5 games to tie the record
    - Clark's points per game average right now is 19.0, so she is on pace to set a new record with 761 points in a rookie season.
    MOST POINTS IN A SEASON
939 = most points in a season by Jewell Loyd in 2023
929 = number of points by A'ja Wilson in 2024 with 6 games remaining
1.7 = points per game needed over the next 6 games to tie the record
    - Wilson's points per game average right now is 27.3, so she is on pace to reach 1,093 this season. We are about to witness the first WNBA player cross the 1,000 point threshold. I know most of the visitors to this channel have been following Caitlin Clark's season, but you probably don't want this historical achievement to go unnoticed. A'ja Wilson is having a stellar year too. Also, she would have the most rebounds in a season record this year too if not for Angel Reese.
    MOST REBOUNDS IN A SEASON
404 = most rebounds in a season by Sylvia Fowles in 2018 for former record
446 = number of rebounds in a season by Angel Reese in 2024 to date, setting a new record
    - Reese averages 13.2 rebounds per game and has 7 games left to play. She is on pace for 538 rebounds in a season. I know her rivalry with Clark has been fun for the fanbase, but let's appreciate what she is doing in her rookie year. Also, some individuals have forgotten that this is just a game and have started harassing this young woman. Someone even sent pornographic deepfakes to her family. We all know this is wrong, yes?

Most of those turnovers early in the season were teammates not used to or ready for those rocket passes, much like Steve Nash.
I watched a video of Pete Maravich and his dribbling drills. The hours spent just on that made the difference for both he and Caitlin. If future rookies hope to duplicate what she has done, they need to start young and not quit.
What we are witness to goes beyond talent. It's a drive few possess. That is not a criticism, just a statement of fact.

How many records has Angel Grease broken in her rookie year? More than Clark? Nope. Never. She can’t, she couldn’t. Takes too much time away from thinking about herself and gluing the caterpillars above her eyes. And she thinks of herself as Barbie, stooopid, stooopid. Plus Grease looks as if she’s eating too much, packing on those saddlebags she’s lugging all over the court which is the main reason probably she doesn’t run up and down the court! She’s a second quality player, like Taurasi and the convicted smuggler Brittany Grinder. That last dude, whew.
