- Use texture painting in Nomad Sculpt 1.55 for texturing 3d models.
Nomad Sculpt 1.55 came with lots of new and exciting features and one of my favorites is the addition of being able to use texturing as well as alphas.
That means that you can simply use any texture or image that you like and drag it onto the surface of your model whether that be skin, patterns, tattoos, graphics, lettering you name it. It does support transparent PNG files so you can make complex images with their backgrounds removed and use them right there on your model.
This Nomad texturing tutorial video is all about learning to texture on your iPad and will get you up and running in no time.

playing around with it, i realised it's still vertex painting, just with textures to determine color.
thats the main problem i have with this app at the moment: there doesnt seem to be true texture painting with UV maps. I know forger has it, but i dont wna shell out more money just to paint textures, so i cant wait for nomad to get it.
For stroke type use "dynamic radius" its a drag and pull to make the image larger or smaller. This update is huge and opens a lot more doors for creativity.

Oh man, the hours I’ve spent looking for a tool in Nomad that didn’t exist until yesterday. Lol. How does the windows version compare to Zbrush? Can you make a video of a pipeline between Nomad Sculpt (iPad) and Zbrush?

is it possible to change vertex colors to texture in nomad?
That's really amazing update. I just started out and was looking if you can do something like this with your models.

Do the texture images on the model print like the alphas?
Can toy export all this to mess with more in blender/c4d?
Is this feature gone in 1.76? I cant find it anymore. And if it ain't, is this still vertex painting? Meaning are we still bound to the vertex count for resolution?

Make sure that you have a high polygon count. Sub divide the model until it’s high enough

How did you made the scars on the neck and the shoulders?
I have the version of nomad 1.84 for both android and IPAD Pro and there is no texture option under materials....what am I missing, has the dev moved it to another tab?
somehow I don't see any texture option in version 1.84. where is it hiding, looked at all the tabs, manual, no clue...
I wonder where that texture tab went. Nomad 1.76 has it elsewhere?

@@sultang6694 still in the “ paint stroke” section, but un labeled and now as three different boxes- which are to the right of roughness, metalness , and the color matcher. Hope that helps
my paint tab doesnt have the texture choice? :(
So this is still vertex paint not texture, right? Painting vetrex with images, yeahyeah you can export than its a shitty texture :D
And my phobia of holes start to trigger here... >_
