i think this is the FIRST TIME that i have seen a concern in this show, in which there is no clapping after reading the letter, nearly no jokes, no laughing (except for the "this is ridiculous, i am so shocked - laugh), just rawness and realness to the actual issue! i apploud them, for being so serious, i mean this is a horrible concern after all.

He doesn't do housework, don't try to fix their relationship, I can't even tell if he wants he baby, only cares about himself and swearing is not a big issue in Korea but u would if that person swears at u constantly
@@wolfkanna9983 well it's not just Korea. Basically, Asian parents doesn't like their child to get used of cursing cuz it consider as rude & bad manner here.. I mean ofc we still curse, but we tend to avoid cursing in front of ppl dat older than us especially our family (except with our silly siblings) cuz we're gonna be scolded & nagged badly if we ever do dat. So obviously it's not seen as good parenting if the parents curse in front of their children cuz the children gonna imitate them..

That’s so true. I grew up in an environment like this and sometimes I just lose myself. Even though my „father“ left years ago, I still just start to swear when I’m having an argument with someone. I hate myself for it and I want to change because I don’t want to end up like him, but it’s really hard for me
She is probably scared of being a burden to them, plus if she has been an housewife since they got married it might get hard for her to find a job. She said it herself she has a low self esteem, I don't know if she will ever find the strength to leave him. She probably thinks she's also in fault and she might even worried about her kid blaming her :(
Also we don't know how Korea views divorce, I heard (but I don't know if it's true) that a lot of Koreans think that people shouldn't get divorced. That they should work together to ameliorate their couple no matter (even when it's impossible) for the "sake" of their kid. Plus, she might be scared of people mocking her child for being the kid of a divorcee.
The fact that you noticed that side of you & are trying to improve is already amazing, instead of being mad at yourself you should be proud. You are not letting your progenitor affects on your new life ! Cheer up !

This is definitely the worst I have ever seen. The way he smiles as his wife cries in pain is truly disgusting. Just by the way he talks, you can tell the wife isn't lying. He is quick to be defensive and turn things around. He is so fast to shut someone down before they can finish speaking. He's never bathed his own son? What kind of human is he? He really needs to go to the doctor. He has quite a few things to work on. I sincerely hope that the mother and son will leave this... thing.

@@sun-sinyi4202 Sandeul was also pretty perceptive about what might happen if things don't improve. Like he said, the son takes mom's side of a fight, but learns foul language from dad. Sandeul was scared about what`could potentially happen between the son and dad during an argument. If things don't improve, the son might grow up being resentful of his dad because of his bad treatment of his mother. That would be things going from bad to worse.

It's a very unhealthy relationship. If the guy doesn't change at all, they should just consider breaking up, although it is very hard. A marriage is between two people and if the other one is not trying to keep it by doing things as if he has a servant, then, it is very bad. And blaming all on fighting? God, just because you fought doesn't mean your responsibilities stop. Also, if he owns the house then let him be, leave him and she should just stay with her parents she was working when they met, she can recuperate there then start working as soon as she can. It is better to raise a kid as a single parent than raise him/her with two people but the other one isn't even of much help. Nothing would change if the husband doesn't want to grow up. He doesn't even understand what's wrong with it! Looking at the smug look at his face? Gosh, I'm so angry!

He's not gonna change, trust me. My dad did this to my mom and it got worse and worse with age to the point where he was talking to her like an abused dog every other hour. I never understand why she didn't leave him when she always made more money than him and actually retired at a later age. He passed away at the beginning of the year and as much as I love the guy, we're all better off now that he's gone.

My sister was also in a super controlling, abusive relationship similar to your mother, her husband always lied to her and made out to be paranoid. When they argued he even sometimes beat and seriously injured her several times.

if I'm not mistaken there's something called imago effect in psychology that it's similar to this thought,basically you tend to look for the people who are similar to the ones who disappointed you in your childhood,so you can 'finish' what you didn't receive.I'm not sure I'm explaining this right because I only read about it,I never studied this stuff sorry,but if you search for it,you can find a better explanation
To be honest, i don't believe in this things because if a person was abused as a child then he/she knows how is it to be humiliated by others and wouldn't want to have someone else in their lives doing the same thing. They actually try to have a partner who is totally opposite from the abusive figure. The thing is that a lot of people pretend to be what they aren't when they start dating just to reveal themselves later, just like the wife said that he already used to curse before but he was kind to her and treated her well at first.

When helping out for a place where people with psychological issues could meet up I have met several people in the exact same position. It's like a never ending rabbit hole for them

You should try being sworn at in Cantonese. Our curses are literally that. Cursing various aspects of one's family, wishing ill fortune, attacks on the reproductive capabilities of a person, etc. Wikipedia has a great article on it.
In East Asia, attacks on a person's ancestors and family is the highest form of offense that can be offered
I love the expression, early on, that is worn by one of the ladies on the panel. You can see her jaw set and a deep glare in her eyes. I think the vast majority of us can agree with that emotion in this case.

i feel like not divorcing him would do worse for the child than divorcing him. if the father continues all this crap, the child will get scarred at a young age & have a traumatic childhood growing up. the child should grow up with his mother, where he is loved. although there aren’t two parents in his life, he’ll have one who loves him tremendously than having one that hurts his mother.
That's actually a really old way of thinking. Divorce is fairly common these days. And suffice it to say, growing up in a stable and loving environment with one parent is much more preferred than enduring verbal and psychological abuse just to be able to say you grew up in a two-parent household.
The days when kids were ostracized or stigmatized for being a child of a single parent (mom or dad) or being a child of divorce has long passed. In fact being able to raise good children under these circumstances are more often than not lauded by society in general. Social status aside, the well-being, safety and happiness of the child MUST always take precedence over anything else.

I’m actually so sad this made me cry. She seems like a lovely woman wanting to raise her baby in a hostile FREE environment and wanting to be in a loving caring home and all he does is verbally abuse her and treat her like a servant. My prayers go to her and the baby.

The way he smiles when her wife is in deep pain shows how bad his attitude is. I know this is too much but I want her to divorce him because it felt like their child will be the one to suffer in the end. It's not easy to divorce in Korea. Traditionally it is heavily frowned upon as it it reflects badly on the wider family. It also stigmatises the single parent.
From what I understand it's not as bad these days but still the society is still quite conservative when it comes to divorce
The scariest thing is, I specialise in 3D facial modeling so I pay close attention to very small facial expressions. When I see people asking him stuff about why isn't he taking care of the baby he shows a lot of disgust and deep anger. Very small muscles around the nose and mouth area are moving quick and involuntary. Idk, he is just holding a lot of rage in him, probably not only because he is being judged on TV, but because of his pride issues.
He's such a vile human why didn't he understand that his wife and baby are two seperate people he's using their fighting or his busy work schedule as an excuse for everything. I really wish I was a guest or there in tbr audience to just ask him why did he bother having a child if he can't take responsibility and whether he would be happy if she had a miscarriage second time round because he does jackshit for them. He's such a terrible husband and father
This was so aggravating that it actually sincerely concerns me. I’ve watched this show a lot and never have I seen such a concern. Who wouldn’t feel like that when even your baby gets dragged into this? I’m afraid that If this continues, the baby adapts to the environment as he grows up and maybe even curse at his mom. This is a concern that should really be resolved. I’m asian and I think If my parents hear me cussing at people, oh I can’t even imagine what they’d do.

I've only seen this now, but it's been over a month for this episode. I really do hope that the wife stops making excuses to endure the kind of treatment she's experiencing from her husband. A man that childish, selfish and self-centered does not deserve a wife and son. If she doesn't leave him for herself, I hope she leaves him for the good of her son. Her son would benefit more growing up in a loving single parent household than with a father like that.
I feel like when they get home from this show he'll be worse and curse at her for revealing all those things about him. I'm so sorry for that woman

My dad is also like this even worse is that he embarasses mom by shouting mean things to her so that the neighbors could hear, he sometimes gets violent and break things specially when he's drunk, my mom (not only mom but also me and my siblings) would always cry to sleep he's not scared of anyone because he has connections
