Dang Matt you are really taking me back. I played on that Lipscomb team that lost to Giles county and Bo Wallace in the state championship. I also was at the game when Alabama last to Ole Miss. love the videos and thanks for making my morning drive so enjoyable.
Bo Wallace lost all of his WR’s in that 3 game stretch to end his career. Laquon Treadwell broke his ankle against Auburn and Vincent Sanders tore his ACL against Miss State. Dude also dealt with a torn labrum most of his career. Dude was an absolute trooper.
He played for the red skins then the bengals. He’s been trying to play arena ball. Not good enough for the NFL type of talent it looks like. He was a dog at LSU and NC state
I remember the Bo Wallace days at Ole Miss, decent QB his play reminded me of Dylan Thompson(SC QB after the Connor Shaw era). Ole Miss playoff hopes were over vs Auburn because Wr fumbled at the goal line, they thought it was a TD it wasn't. Also Fun Fact: his games vs Vandy was when they were respected aka James Franklin days.
I remember that Ole Miss game against our Crimson Tide also. I remember I was shocked they beat us. Great video Matt! I enjoy these also, these videos help with it being off season. 😊 ROLL TIDE!! 🐘🐘🐘🐘
Great video as always Matt. Appreciate your humor, opinions, realness, and consistency with these videos. Would love to see your video and take on Tajh Boyd.
Ole Miss fan here. My first season getting into college football was when I was 7 years old in 2014. I remember watching my first full football game. It was Ole Miss vs Alabama when Ole Miss won 23-17 in Oxford. This gave my little pea brain back then that Ole Miss was untouchable. Fast forward to 2015… Ole Miss beats Alabama again and I think we’re gonna win a championship… fast forward to 2024 we haven’t come that close again 😭
Tough ass dude. If he'd never gone to college super high school legend. Never gonna go pro but still better than 99% of the average person will ever hope to be.
Bo Wallace had Hugh Freeze as his coach. That was why Ole Miss beat Bama that year. It helped Bama step up their game the rest of the year and win the SEC 🏆 and go to the National semifinals. Blake Sims was the Bama QB in that game. And his off. coordinator in 2014, Lane Kiffin.
PLEASE do a video on Devon Thomas. Highly touted legendary high school running back who got in some trouble and gave a LEGENDARY news interview, showing up crawling over a fence. He robbed a quiktrip and in the camera footage he box jumped the counter and the judge was like “not just anyone can do that” 😂😂
Rakeem Cato dude was a god and college and then fought EVERY COACH he’s played with. He got into an argument this past week in a small area league.. smh so much talent wasted
you know Matt be great you should definitely do the story about the 2011 Alabama football season or the 2009 One would love to see you do and video on that 😊
Broooo I remember that game!!!! Huge alabama fan here Honestly me(28) and my 72 year old father thought bo Wallace was Bo nix and hated Bo nix for “beating alabama”😂
Wallace is from Giles county?? 🤯 I used to go swimming there all the time i had no clue he was from so close to home.. i wouldn't even be surprised if I have seen Matt somewhere before lol
I'm pretty sure that's where the iron bridges were.. we also went to Mt Zion to a creek we called peach beach I don't remember if it was in Giles county or not though but I know the iron bridges were
Yea I remember Bo Wallace. Good stuff. How about a video on Taylor Mays. He was a safety on Southern Cal in mid-late 2000s. Seemed like the next Polamalu in college and just didn't seem to hear about him after college. Thanks for the vidyas
Think we might be from the same small town about 20 miles from Giles. Went to a few Giles games while he was there and randomly saw him at a party in Pulaski around 2016
Do a video on Barry Brunetti, he was at ole miss at the same time as Bo and is a Tennessee legend he beat one of the most dominant high schools in the country while in high school and also went to WVU before ending up at ole miss
I remember that 2014 season they played the TCU team that got left out the CFP that season!! So that team was pissed off the rip and it showed against my Rebels!!!
I wish someone would make a video of the magic of the 2014-15 season. Beating Bama back to back and being on top of the world just to lose to Arkansas and Memphis
Great story! Others have pointed out Wallace's injuries, torn labrum, ankle, and losing his top WRs the last few games of his career. Can others confirm/clarify these factors? Did you run across those factors in researching this video?
Do a vid on Brent Shaffer he was the first quarterback to start as a true freshman at Tennessee……got in trouble then went JC (ware I played with him) then ole miss
I remember going dove hunting with my dad that day. We came home that evening to seeing the fans rushing the field after an Ole Miss win. That was the year I started following college football. Hotty Toddy
You should look into Glenn Coffee. Seems like a short story but would love to see if you could dig up anymore details, especially what he’s up to today.
2x all-SEC running back Benny Snell who led his team to the best season in school history with almost 1500 yards is no longer in the NFL after 4 years… could be a story there 🤷♀️
How about trey Smith from auburn that ran for 220 in a iron bowl and had the espn play of the year. He was also was the player of the year in Florida in 2000 where he set the state record for points scored in a florida high school state championship.
You got to do a video on Taylor Mays. Literally one of the best safeties from USC that Pete Carroll had a chance to draft but didn't draft him and that was his coach in college.......... crazy!!!!!!!
Can you Terrell Pryor? My small town team, being in the same conference as Wilson High School (which, at the time, was still 2a, so a small school). They played against Jeanette (spelling?) In the state final. Listening to the radio back then, it was said no one could be Jeanette, because of Terrelle Pryor. Wilson won the state title, then Pryor went to Ohio State. He was a beast, got drafted, has the longest QB run of all time in the NFL (99 yard td). Pryor eventually wasn't a qb option, and changed to a WR. I belive he had a 1k season receiving. Then he faded into obscurity. Another one, is Austin Scott. He played for Parkland high school, got suspended I think fresh, soph, and maybe even junior year. His senior year at Parkland they won the state title. He was a Penn State recruit, ND was 4th in the nation at RB, 1st was Reggie Bush, 2nd was last named White (I believe), the 3rd RB committed to Penn State as Austin Scott did. He was accused of *ape twice. These are two great stories I hope you can cover in the future.
Die hard ole miss fan and I did not like Wallace as a quarterback whatsoever. Didn’t have anyone better and I appreciate how much he loved ole miss but damn he was a heart attack to watch.
Pretty funny story, my buddy went to Ole Miss when Bo Wallace was there, and he had a picture of Beau knocked out on the ground after he got punched out at a party lol fun times
Not sure about the arrest but he’s been a offensive coordinator at a couple juncos in Mississippi. As far as the 2012 season, Houston Nutt left Freeze with absolutely nothing.
Hey Marty Boy what about either De’Anthony Thomas or LaMichael James Oregon Ducks RB’s well Thomas was a Swiss army knife but anyway and one more is Derek Anderson QB of the Oregon State Beavers he had an interesting career one Pro Bowl year.
@mattbegreat the coach at the school EMCC was guy named Buddy Stephens is from Huntsville. He coach at Sparkman high school in the 90s. Was not a good coach at all.
You said Bo Nix like 10 times before you caught it lol
I cracked a smile each one of those times
😂😂😂
Dang Matt you are really taking me back. I played on that Lipscomb team that lost to Giles county and Bo Wallace in the state championship. I also was at the game when Alabama last to Ole Miss. love the videos and thanks for making my morning drive so enjoyable.
No way!!!!! I played on that lipscomb team as well! I remember crying after that loss

Finally a story on the qb I loved as a child
I remember the Bo Wallace days at Ole Miss, decent QB his play reminded me of Dylan Thompson(SC QB after the Connor Shaw era). Ole Miss playoff hopes were over vs Auburn because Wr fumbled at the goal line, they thought it was a TD it wasn't. Stop it. You’re triggering my ptsd lol
That Ole Miss team was too hungover from the night before to even remember that defense
Great video as always Matt. Appreciate your humor, opinions, realness, and consistency with these videos. Would love to see your video and take on Tajh Boyd.
Drink a shot every time Matt says Bo Nix
I played against Bo in high school. He was such a great HS qb at Giles Co.
1:39 bro has more yards than the Brady Slayer and Johnny Football that’s crazy

Tough ass dude. If he'd never gone to college super high school legend. Never gonna go pro but still better than 99% of the average person will ever hope to be.

My dad was hanging out with Bo at the bar and convinced the bartender that varsity blues was written bc of them it was Bo’s last DUI
Tre mason of auburn has a pretty crazy story after he left the NFL
I think you should do one on Derik Thomas from Oregon during “The Kelly Era”.
Great work Matt. Keep it up ! 🤙🏻
Chad Kelly was another QB that went to a JUCO at East Mississippi and beat Alabama when he went to Ole Miss.
Great guy! Amazing with the kids, they love him. Easy going, but don't poke the bear.
Who was that one wide receiver for BSU that played for the lions and had some issues maybe a video on him?
Titus Young

I played against him in High School... I'll take my cookie.
Bo Wallace/ Hugh freeze experience. We would beat Alabama one week then lose to Memphis or Arkansas. Auburn fans will soon see
That was a great weekend. Ole Miss beats Alabama and MSU beats Texas A&M, both home games.
