An 86 year old Grandad still renovating... this entire family put so many young people to shame as they all work so hard and help one another,,,, kindness at its best,, Well done to you all
Simon is such a professional that he can walk into a building He has never been in and install Crown molding with a product He's never used and finish a room in a couple hours. Impressive.
Yannis is truly getting a masters degree in craftsmanship which he will be able to hopefully pass on one day to the next generation. Simon you are a great man and bless you for your patience and the heart of a teacher.
1. I’m pretty sure Simon is a MASTER of a lot of things! 😂 2. Your grandad and father explain where your work ethic comes from! 3. It think Yanis is everyone’s “little” brother! I 😂 when Simon put the adhesive on his nose! Crack on!!!
I sorry , I know I rave on about the kitchen, but I’m hopelessly in love with this kitchen, it looks beautiful in all weathers, when the sunshine is coming through the windows or when it’s raining dull day and the warm ambience of the lighting so special
I agree! I love being in that room in all kinds of weather. I’m going to miss my daily visits there when the kitchen is finished. (One day I even took a screen shot of the window’s light reflecting on the wooden counter!)
I love this kitchen, the older I get I stick to old quality. Much of it today is pure junk and costs a fortune if you want quality wood and craftsmanship. I feel the same way about the very old bathrooms, which have a certain soul and coziness from this time. Yes, I am almost ready to cry when I see how people break down quality that could last even more years but could be made cozy with warm colors and special things for interior design. I can feel that when age starts to press and you don't make a big deal of food anymore, I wouldn't invest in new because everything today has to be glossy shelves etc. and requires constant cleaning because everything is clearly visible. I would enjoy decorating this kitchen cozily because I have always spent a lot of time in the kitchen with the family and no one should be afraid of scratching these thin modern glossy kitchens.. Many people spend thousands of money on a kitchen which is actually an exhibition. where people only heat ready meals in the microwave,
What a wonderful thing to have 4 generations living close together. I'm sure they will be very happy in there new home and I sure do wish you all the very best. Shine on Pethericks.
So nice to see everyone on your team joining in to help your grandparents. It looks like a beautiful cozy house - perfect size and location for them. I hope they will be happy in their new home. .
Another tidbit of information and usage of the wonderful step stool that seems to rain down, like manna from heaven to it's rightful place at the convent! Truly miraculous!!
The Grandparents new house is like a Dr Who Tardis, somehow much bigger on the inside than the outside! The way you treat family and your team is one of the many highlights of this great channel.
It will be wonderful to have your Grandparents so close. They will feel secure and your parents will feel more at ease having them closer. I love the design of your grandparents house.
I caught a glimpse of Yannis reaching out a hand to spot Simon as he stepped up onto the bench to glue a coving piece in place. The respect and watching out for each other is evident in every little action amongst this team. A lovely thing to see❤️
Grandparents! How lovely to see more of your family, Billy and Mick. And sometimes family is who you chose. There is a wonderful feeling of father and son, one generation guiding another, between Simon and Yanis. And all of you helping Billy's grandparents is so wonderful to see. Alex, I keep saying how fantastic your music and filming is. You must be tired of hearing it. What a wonderful episode. Team Incredible strikes again!!!
What I love about Yannis is his willingness to pitch right in with any new job that comes his way. He’s a learner and a doer. Billy you are a cheerful, generous man. Your grandparents are smart to move close to everyone. It’s a nice house for them. Probably a lot easier to maintain than the one they just sold. Simon is the master of everything and with a great disposition! xx
Great to have everyone pitch in and help finish your grandparents new home! It is a solid little home with a perfect location near their family. Yannis and Simon get along so well, they are a joy to watch. Crack on tomorrow🙏❤️
I remember watching your sister painting this house for your Grandparents. I haven't seen anymore so I thought it was all done and they were living in it. It will be fun seeing it finished. It is a really nice house.
It is so wonderful to see everyone pitching in and working to help get your grandparent's home ready for them to move in. I thought your dad was impressive, keeping busy and working so hard at an age when many men would choose to just sit back and relax and leave the work to others, but now we see your grandfather, a man in his 80's is also willing and able to take on a job that needs to be done without hesitation. Your family truly is full of talented, hard-working individuals! I think it is wonderful that you will have 4 generations all within a close proximity. I would have loved being so close to my grandparents and great-grandparents when I was your boy's age. Sadly, we were 1000's of miles apart.
So nice to hear family means so much to some, not the messy family dramas we so often hear about now. Simon is always teaching Yannis, what a great teacher/student team !
This property has been on RUclips before. The garden was a major job as it was very overgrown, middle of last year I believe, some interesting finds were also made.
Amazing how things that used to belong to the convent are finding their way back. The step stool and the things from the hospital that you picked up. I wonder how many other pieces will find their way back.
I'm happy that your grandparents will be so close to you. For them, you, and your children. Family is the most important thing in the world. Simon is so talented. He truly is a master at everything he does. I love your grandparents home. They're very blessed. I didn't realize that so many brits have moved to France till I started watching your channel. And then you knowing so many YT peeps that are also from England.
Awesome of you and your crew to help out your grandparents. As an elderly person, I personally know how much we dislike depending on others, but you are so humble to help them out!
If you use acrylic caulk and acrylic paint, you can mix the 2 to color match the walls. Use air pressure to force the caulk out of the tube, mix the two, and put it right back into the same tube. The caulk dries ever so slightly lighter than the paint alone, but reduces the need to cut in paint after caulking. ☺️
Billy, my friend, I need to be totally honest. I have no clue how you and your team do the reconstruction work you do. Still, I eagerly await each new video. I stand in awe your knowledge, skill, craftsmanship, and dedication to a job well done. And, it warms my heart to see three generations working together. Thank you so much for the light you bring into the world.
Simon. We would love you to have your own channel. Nothing fancy. Just you talking to us, holding your cuppa and teaching us how to do basic DIY. 😂. How to fill in gaps, lay tiles, cut tiles, best way to paint, what paint to use where n when... Then sitting in the pub with a pint.... We aren't asking for much. You when I'm busy being an adult in life... I often look for an adultier adult. I reckon you are it.
Thanks for the update on your grandparents home Billy - glad I asked about their place. It will be nice for them to know things are being done so they don't have to worry about them. It's so nice to have such skilled friends to help out as well. Thinking a run to the tip would make things seem less overwhelming. I find getting rid of the trash helps motivate.
How nice to have your Grandparents so close by. Billy, you and your team are so giving and great helping out your Grandparents. We know they appreciate everything. Please thank them for inviting us into their home as renovations go on. I love the house! “See” everyone soon on the next vlog!
Wow! Can’t wait to see how you install the floors over tile!!! That is just what I need done in my home here!!! So glad your grandparents are strong and healthy!! What a blessing !! I am 76 and live in a one story home in Tulsa…near my Son ! I had a stroke 2 years ago on Christmas and now have serious arthritis in both knees…limiting but still kicking up my heels!! I watched your tour through this new acquisition and think I would make sure there is wide enough access through doorways in case a wheelchair becomes a necessity in the future!!! Come to think of it I would put an elevator in to the garage area too…they make some pretty interesting one for home use now that are easy to install!!! So wonderful that all hands are ready to help in your family/friends group that make life a pleasure for all❤❤❤
Simon… have you ever considered starting a trades school? You have such amazing talent and skills to share with the world. I promise the quality of workmanship is nothing close to this in the US. ❤❤❤❤ I’ve learned so much watching. Thanks for sharing as always Billy!!! You sure are a busy man.
You all coming together to help your grandparents made me feel very happy. What a lovely family you are. Wonderful they are going to be a lot closer to you all aswell. Happy renovating x
Your Grandad is the same age as my Dad. My Dad is the same, still works a 17 acre farm in Kentucky and walks 2 miles a day. He always says the key is to keep moving; you sit down and quit that's it.
That's so true. I read so many RUclips comments about putting in elevators in houses where there are multi levels. It's so important to keep using stairs every day as you age - built in exercise (like your father's farm). No need to go for a run or use a gym. My Dr says not to make daily life too easy physically as you age. My relatives in their 90s use their stairs, carry their groceries and walk everywhere.
Simon is masters anything that he does, caulking, painting, demolishing walls, plastering... he is just a very talented man who has alot of experience. I think your grandparents house is stunning!! It is so wonderful to see everyone jumping in to help finish it asap for them. I am sure that they appreciate it and will be very happy in their cosy little abode. It's a bonus that they will only be a few minutes drive from the convent too. 😊
It makes my heart SO happy that your grandparents will be right down the road! And how fortunate you are to have Simon! His work and work ethic is rare! NEVER LET HIM GO! 🥰 And Billy, thank YOU for being so kind to all these workers! You’re a wonderful son, father and friend!
Thank you for letting us see your Grandparents new home, so pleased all of you are mucking in and doing such a fantastic job sorting out the home so they can move in quicker. Simon I’m such a fan of your never ending diy skills, it’s heart warming to see Yannis watching and trying to learn, he has a wonderful mentor. 🙏🏻
Billy I Bet Someone would want those amazing oak Kitchen Cabinets in your convent Apartments or even Ryan for his Rebuild on his 15 k euro rebuild 😎 Just an idea 💡 🌅
So now I get to meet your grandpa too‼️😍 What a treat to see so many generations living close by. Those holiday parties are going to be full of memories‼️I am loving watching Simon putting up the crown molding and teaching Yannis about this too. Yannis is absorbing all this knowledge and someday he too, will renovate his own place in the future. What a great team‼️😍
The hook you put in the ceiling. The idea behind that is that you leave the hook in the clip that goes in the ceiling, you then fold the two sides down put throw the hole in the ceiling then let them go and they spread out to anchor the hook. I hope that makes sense.
Those kitchen cabinets look really familiar . We had them in our kitchen and when they are sanded down and with eggshell paint and new handles have been looking really great in our utility room for thirty years .
this the same house that Sadie and Moe started I just saw a youtube channel with Yannis all working there nice that you are finishing it great family team work 😊
Awesome! Just wondering whats up with all the apartments at the convent😮? Your sisters, the 2 Ryan started etc? Maybe give us a tour and share the plan? Love the channel such great family and friend fun
I am so impressed with Yannis. He's always there, watching, helping, learning, like a sponge. What a valuable apprenticeship he's getting, and he is even picking up some English. Keep it up Yannis. 😊 I'm watching from near the southern shore of Lake Superior.
Are you interested in donations of old books to fill up your library shelves? Not now, you don't want to find a place to store them, but when the library is finished.
My aunt & uncle's house was like that. Built on a built-up hill at the end of a cul-de-sac. The main floor was where the front door lies and the upstairs of the house. When you drove down the hill you came to the garage and back door. The kitchen & dining room sat on top of the garage, which was built into the hill. The master bedroom & en suite was on the main floor with 2 bedrooms and a house bathroom in the hall. The stairway took up a large part of the house and went down into the den with 2 more bedrooms and a half bath down there along with the laundry and storage room. My uncle was an engineer and rocket scientist, and carpentry was his main hobby. He built an oak bookcase along the inside wall of the den that was just beautiful. I say was, because they are both deceased, but the house stands. Because of the configuration of the house on the hill theirs was the only house with a garage on their block.
The whole Petherick family and extended family are truly amazing, wonderful people. You help anyone that needs it. Simon is a master at all he does. Yanis is an asset to you he just gets in and does it. Your dad, wow, what a man wonderful to see him getting stuck in and just cracking on. We need more people like your family and friends. Thank you for sharing your wonderful family and vlog with us.
Billy, I think it is wonderful that you are willing to help out others especially older family members with their projects as well. Your extended family is terrific and your team is just beautiful to come with you. You have a strong sense of character that is very becoming in you as a man. Gwendolyn should be very proud of you and your ethics. Have a great day
An 86 year old Grandad still renovating... this entire family put so many young people to shame as they all work so hard and help one another,,,, kindness at its best,, Well done to you all
80 year old 😉
@@sherrylelee8274 I believe we were told he's 86 at 13:43
I thought they said 86 year old as well but 80 or 86 what an achievement to still be renovating..
@@philbarrows2431
Go grandad! I would love to see the living room wall opened up to make it less narrow.
Yep! These Petherick a need to show these younger people what can be done if you just put time, effort and the mindset!
Maybe the oak kitchen that comes out could go to Simon’s kitchen. That would be beautiful ❤️
Or Ryan if Simon doesn't want it or the cabinets could go downstairs or to Simon or Ryan for use in a workshop area.
Simon is such a professional that he can walk into a building He has never been in and install Crown molding with a product He's never used and finish a room in a couple hours. Impressive.
Also his method of introducing himself with the day’s location is even more helpful with so many possibilities now 😉😂
Don't forget he's teaching Yanis at the same time
So you now have The Chateau, The Convent, Helping Ryan and Simon and now a cottage. Busy, busy, busy boys!! Impressive!!
That looks like his grandparents cottage
Crack On Cinematic Universe hahaha
Variety is the spice of life!😊
He has a team to be able to do it. ❤
That’s great of you Billy to help your grandparents out in their renovations with your team of great helpers. Keep Cracking On.
I've become seriously addicted to The Petherick's ❤
Highlight of the day😊
I get home from work and this is my evening treat.
Me too, they brighten our day, wish the whole world were like them…
Me too 😂
Aren’t we all! 🩷❤️🧡

You are one lucky man to have your Dad and grandad in your life, i commend you for helping them. You were most certainly raised correctly.
So nice to see everyone on your team joining in to help your grandparents. It looks like a beautiful cozy house - perfect size and location for them. I hope they will be happy in their new home. .
Billy, what a wonderful team! I bet the boys will enjoy having the great grandparents so close❤
I saw the work that Moe did on the grandfather 's house a few nonths ago. He did a lot.😢
If your library stairs are like those we have, ours were built so sisters can climb up on a table to have their habit hem marked!
Another tidbit of information and usage of the wonderful step stool that seems to rain down, like manna from heaven to it's rightful place at the convent! Truly miraculous!!

Your grandparents' house is going to be lovely! The exterior is perfection already.
Such a charming house!

Are you interested in donations of old books to fill up your library shelves? Not now, you don't want to find a place to store them, but when the library is finished.
Another person I follow built a library and had people send a favorite book. I thought that was a great way to fill the shelves.
Simon, the Caulking King…. 👏
Nice house! Love the setup with garage and large basement underneath. Great that your family is able to be close and enjoy the life in rural France!
I know I’m repeating many comments, but SIMON IS AMAZING‼️‼️‼️‼️.
"Team work makes the dream work"! Love that your Grandparents are moving closer to be near the family. Simon is a perfectionist! Nice job all!
Your grandparents are blessed to have you as their grandson 😍😘Love their little house 😍😘
