🦀🐟『TIN CAN BAY』LAND BASED FISHING & CRABBING - YOU CATCH THE BIGGEST WHEN YOU ARE LEAST PREPARED

We did a last minute trip to Tin Can Bay over the New Year holiday. I brought just one rod, a cast net and 2 crab pots with a few lures. It turned out to be the best land-based fishing and crabbing trip I did. I wasn't even going to film the adventure as I did not expect to catch anything (5% fish activity on the chart). It was on the first night of our trip and it's been bucketing down whole day. I was just going to wet a line at the local jetty after dinner. There was no bite on the fishing line at all, but then I caught this 60+cm flathead using a cast net. Someone gifted us a sand crab, and together they made yummy dinner the next night. I then used the flathead frame as crab bait, and that in turn got me the biggest mud crab that I have ever caught!! What a ripper. Like the family said, I catch the most and best when I least prepared and expected.
