  • Another matcha latte recipe? Yup. Matcha’s refreshing, grassy flavor tastes even more invigorating alongside the acidity and sweetness of fruit. While mango isn’t the first fruit I’d think of pairing with matcha, I’ve seen mango matcha lattes on the menu at several local shops. Since mangoes are a kitchen staple for us during the summer, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to attempt a homemade version.
    The result exceeded my expectations and quickly became a regular refreshment. Honey mangoes (AKA Ataulfo or Champagne mangoes) are saturated with a nectar-like sweetness that’s balanced by the deep, umami flavor of matcha. With a whole mango packed into each glass, I’d definitely say this is a luxurious treat (that’s nutrient packed too!).
    Fruits are a highlight of summer, and I hope this recipe will leave you feeling refreshed despite the muggy heat. I believe this will be the last summer recipe you’ll see from me this year. Fall is oh-so-close, and I am so excited to make the most of it. For my northern hemisphere folks, are you sad to see summer leaving?
