Nice explainer Jonathan! It's critical that packages list their deps correctly especially when shared; phantom deps cause lots of downstream friction and surprises within the repo, as you showed. It's difficult to explain why leaning on hoisting is a bad practice, so having a video to refer to is useful! :)
