Brilliant video, thank you. I've just discovered your channel - I live and hunt driven boar and deer in the Pyrénées and look forward to seeing your adventure here!
What a fantastic day's sport, well filmed and well shot! Along with driven boar in Southern France or the Sologne, a Monteria is on the list of hunts to do before I'm too old. Luckily, I have an open invite from a Spanish friend who, with his brother, put on 2 Monterias per year on private ground. Watching this video of you shooting in the sun while the trees blow and the rain runs down the windows has certainly got me planning. Thanks
Hello to all foreigners that come over to Spain to Mantoreias. Even if the people that organize the Monteria allow you to hunt what ever you want , as a hunter you shouldn´t shoot to all the animals that come across with you. In this case, I am sure he did not realize , he shooted to a very your male deer called VARETO, 2 little sticks, they are not allowed to be shooted. As said, may be he didn´t realized about that point. But what it is sure is that French, Belgium, and many other peaple coming to Spain to Monterias kill what ever they want, young males, young female, ... they don´t care, they spend a lot of money and they have to shoot and this is not the aim of the monteria neither the hunt itslef. I spend a lot of money also in Monterias and if I don´t have to shoot I don´t shoot, the money do not justify not being a "good" hunter. CervusUk, nothing to do with you, and sorry for using your video to claim something that is happening every weekend.
We appreciate your message and feedback. In our defence, out of the 7 monterías we have attended over the years we have NEVER been told by the organisers not to shoot ‘varetos’, as of course we would respect and abide by the local hunting rules. Even after this hunt, we were praised on what we had shot. Our videos in Spain are there to show how incredible the country is for hunting opportunities, rich culture and passion to help promote hunting tourism. So you better understand our culture, in our own hunting areas in the UK, a ‘varetos’ would be our main ‘cull’ animal. Sorry we have caused offence, this was not our intention. 🙏🏻
