Awesome. The root meaning of Firstfruit (בכור), or plural firstfruits (בכורים), which is used in Exodus 23:16, 23:19, 34:31, Lev 23:17, 23:20, Num 28:26, 2 Kings 4:42, Neh 10:35, 13:31, & Ez 44:30, means to break from the womb. It is used to refer to soil, crops, flour, bread, lambs, man or beast, etc. In all these passages, the idea is that the first of all new things should be given back to God. This principle is the basis of modern tithing, where we should give the first of everything to God. In my mind, this means before paying taxes, bills, or even buying food. Tithe first, then take care of your other responsibilities. This recognizes that all good things come from God, and shows our faith, gratitude, and reliance on His good favor.
Baluteena, if you mean Shamgar the judge of Israel who slew 600 Philistines with an oxgoad, it is most likely that his name means stranger. The reason for this is the two roots, שם=shem which means "name" and גר=gar which means stranger. It is also possible it could mean "to throw down" or "destroy" from the root מגר=magar which means to throw down or destroy.
Insightful!! On another YT video about emet/this wonderful word, the vlogger states that the last 2 letters are the root word for 'death'-- You didn't touch on that --- Wondering, Is it significant to add that? His claim to which I agree is...Takeaway Aleph/GOD from truth, it's dead.
Yup. מת means dead. God is the α, which is the א in Hebrew. This could point to God dieing for us, or, as you suggested, without God there is only death. Good stuff.
Wow it’s so awesome to see how the meaning of truth is the oneness of God (1 Tim 3:16). That there is only 1 God and He is the Father Spirit and Son. It’s so eye opening to realize that Jesus and the Spirit are not separated deities but in (truth) are manifestations of the One (true) God. Not 3 but One.
@@johnyopp2643 John 14:6… Jesus said, “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” This is one of many passages showing that Jesus is a distinct person separate from the Father. John 14:10. “Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me?” This shows the unity of the two while reminding us that they are distinct persons. John 14:15-17 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever- 17 the Spirit of truth.” Clearly, Jesus is not asking Himself nor sending Himself. John 10:30 “I and the Father are one.” This also reminds us that these two individuals are one. These, and countless other Scriptures show that Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit are separate and distinct persons. Yet these and countless other Scriptures reveal that these three are One. Three persons, One God. This is beyond human understanding. Yet it is true.
A Catholic parish priest used this explanation in a homily. He added another dimension directed at us parishoners I can only vaguely recall: without the Aleph - God - all you have remaining is 'met' which means...Death (i.e. Second Death.) i wonder if I'm remembering his homily wrong or if he was lightly making a leap? Internet says meta means 'is dead' in Hebrew.
Matthew, interesting! I never heard that, but yes, aleph is first and analogous to alpha, and מת (met or moot) meand death, so your priest nailed it. Thanks for the insight
Yes I just read this article and still reading it to digest it . The this word is so deep I and the trying to figure it out and absorb it . I discovered this truth just by studying and breaking down the Armor of God when it got to the Belt of Truth. The Belt of “Emet”

It's pronounced EE-met, not em-et. But really, we're not sure, since Hebrew was a dead language for about 1500 years
Thanks for the feedback.
