Let's goooooooooo! The most Afrocentric song I ever heard! Knew they were working on something then it skipped me, now I am having this onto my archives
Crown of clay is a symbolic thing. Listen to the song from the perspective of poetry. It's not a cultural thing per se because no one around here is walking around with actual crowns of clay. I assume it's a subtle reference to the transient nature of our "black royalty/excellence". Mango Park is the name of a European explorer who supposedly discovered the source of the River Niger which is weird because people had always lived and made use of the water in that region of Nigeria. That's why M.I graciously extended the middle finger to Mungo Park's "legacy".
The Viper is a beast, sorta slowed down for a while now. Track was epic. Crown of clay is turning poverty to royalty (riches).... a metaphor. Good reactions too, at least you ain't bias at all.
My first fear when I saw you are about to react to this song was that a lot of native expressions would be lost on you. This showed right from your interpretation of the Crown of Clay.
I enjoy your unbiased comments or criticism of lyrics and delivery. Crown of clay is symbolic of recognition that is considered natural, it is believed that being crowned that way as a child, life's misfortune can't alter your star or destiny and you can't lose your crown in life because you also were made from clay.
Steve of a truth, the content and context of this track is too African for you to relate so we'll... There are alot of African history and home land stories in their lines that only us can relate to so we'll, so no matter how we try to explain it to you, you can't paint the true picture out of their lines... It's a great historical song to relate to
Clay represents a lot Clay represents the earth. It also represents life cos God made/created Adam from the clay. So, don’t just say you don’t get it. It’s deep.
After all, we may not be ready to now know who the king of Nigerian rap is, but for now let us continue to vibe to the second verse which digs deeper. It’s one thing coming up with good thoughts and another thing rapping out of contexts. Thank you for playing #BussaGs. This is prompt.

I've been listening to this song on repeat for almost an hour. Thank God you reviewed (EDIT: Reacted) it this early. It'll be 5am in Toronto soo and I'm still blasting my ears out
I do think that the idea behind the crown of clay is that, there would always be room to fashion a crown for everyone who deserves it! The emphasis on black culture where clay is a very useful thing and it could be quite luxurious and spiritual in it's applications. These legends have served is something worth the wait and the hype!!!
Normally, this reaction thing should be hard for an "Outsider" to do, but you are one heck of a professional. Don't hesitate to spank 'em rappers when they fall short. I fcuk with you men!
You took me off guard on this one cos it's a new joint 🤣 Crown of Clay is a biblical emphasis: like a lasting crown Mungo Park was a British guy who they said found River Niger, Same River our ancestors have been rolling with since time memorial🤣 This joint was fire 🔥 Your reaction was crisp #GSGang
This song was hard as fuck! They all fucking brought it! Hot damn! The opening hook has very spiritual connotations. Praying by a water body rivers, streams, and beaches is quite common and thought to make prayers more powerful. His father fashioning him a crown of clay was figurative. Putting it together, his father who had nothing (so not a crown of gold) took him to the river and from nothing, made him a crown anyway. So he was consecrated to always be a king, even though he came from nothing. It was also a recurring theme on the song with the reference to Jaja of Opobo, a slave who became a king.
Basically the crown of clay is like your father from the African continent teaching the son how to survive in a world where the black man is subject to the white man, that’s why the crown of clay is a thing cos the African man had to climb from not just the ground but literally a grave and had to be bulletproof to do it... ( odeshi means bulletproof)
Okay I didn't expect this breakdown s fast, I happy it happening now because this was the first song I was listening to this morning and for me to open youtube and I see the breakdown analysis makes it doper in my head. For the mungo park line that you said you didn't understand. Well it is a discovery claim that is taught in school that a white man discovered a river that we already use in africa. It is just crazy. Well 👍🏾
This song is taking us back to our old time memories.. times of king jaja of opobo this is the early 30s. Clay in Africa is something part of our culture something of inheritance which can be made into something very beautiful.. now this song portrays Our culture our heritage.. they can’t say gold crown because that won’t depict that Nigerian culture more like in the 30s..
Crowns of Clay in this song is very metaphorical. It connotes the connection Africans have to the earth. The earth is usually and we are the earth... We are all kings birthed by mother earth to to give it all back to thenearty
The Mungo Park line is about the man said to have discovered the river Niger (from which Nigeria is named). The pan Africanism thought is "a white man couldn't have discovered river Niger only about 200 years ago when Africans have been fishing from it for thousands of years.
"My mother told me wash your hands in the black stream For the soil on which you toil has gasoline Born in the water the fire that steam" This verse right here 💯 It's so simple yet so deep
M.i was talking about Mungo Park at the end. Mungo Park supposedly discovered River Niger, which flows down the Niger area. M.i was trying to point out that his ancestors were already living or residing in those areas before the white men (mongu park) came.
Ahhh. so like Christopher Columbus and America, They claim he discovered America when there were already native people here. . i think ill read up on this too so i can educate myself.
Mango Park is like to Nigerians the way Columbus to Native Americans. He claimed to have discovered the source of River Niger , which is the symbol of what unite the Northern and Southern Protectorate later on by the British to unite into Nigeria.

We don't give a fuck about technology and all the white man makes seem so relevant. But back to the ways of the ancestors... You know, nòt that a crown of Clay is a Nigerian thing. You dig, like from the cover art you see a Crown made of clay with traditional elements like the Cowrie on it. Like it's still a crown regardless what it's made from still it commands respect
Its a rite of passage, when a prince or heir to the throne comes of age, he is taken to the river and baptised amidst prayers from the towns people. . . #BeninCity
Let's goooooooooo! The most Afrocentric song I ever heard! Knew they were working on something then it skipped me, now I am having this onto my archives

this is what we are here for..
Let's go 💪💪💪
Crown of clay is a symbolic thing.
Surprisingly I'm just hearing this song. Unless it was released today I dont know how it slipped through me
Just dropped
The Viper is a beast, sorta slowed down for a while now. Track was epic. Crown of clay is turning poverty to royalty (riches).... a metaphor. Good reactions too, at least you ain't bias at all.
Vector used the line
“a n soro soke shon gbo loke”
Which means we are screaming at the top of our voice, can you hear from the top.
I was so happy you enjoyed this bro... shit was so dope... the mud thing is deeper though
I actually commend Vec's clarity and poetry..(didn't same M lacked it through). He truly had the Kendrick Lamar's blood for one moment.
Steve. You have to check out Blaqbonez!!!! Songs "denied" and "5am" and a lot more.
Your next series has to be Blaqbonez!!!!
I personally feel if he’s not rapping “nxggas” he doesn’t really have a lot to say
Prefer it to be AQ
@@Nollywood_Stars_Galleries AQ is the God. But I want my favourite
My first fear when I saw you are about to react to this song was that a lot of native expressions would be lost on you. This showed right from your interpretation of the Crown of Clay.
I was about to come here & ask you to react to this.. Then the notification just popped up... You just made my day..... #GSgangForLife
That was fast as fuck, Steve. Love it #GSgang.
"We caught one vector".....that cracked me up🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Your analysis are articulate and meticulous @SteveBussaGs
He's never spit anything trash. The Hennesy joint is what made me a fan. Him and Kendrick are the only thing coming out my truck this summer.
It's a great historical song to relate to
I agree... Without understanding context, it is hard to fully appreciate the art and the essence of what is being said.
Check mister jaay
This channels is helping me understand the details of rap ... Big up steve
Clay represents a lot
Clay represents the earth.
Mungo park is said to have discovered the flow of river Niger...so M was like "I discovered hidden flow, who the fuck is Mungo park?"
Thats hard
Awesome reaction as always, enjoyed every single minute👌
Catch ya'll on the next one✌
Optimize this video very well 'cause this might be the shit that will blow up your channel 'cause you're the first who made a reaction video and this is the biggest collab Nigeria has been waiting for.
Yo Steve you're really becoming liked, love and popular here in Nigeria one love Afrikaans gat you bro 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🔥💥🔥🔥🔥
Was about to bring your attention to this newest banger! They did this 😍😍😍😍
Ok. First Time I'm commenting!!! You really know your craft and your reactions are 🔥. You have the best reactions I have come across on this platform.
The whole message on this hit track is soo deep bro only africans can relate to the content.. huge respect to Vector and M

You’re quick man 🙌🏽
Love your reaction to nigeria music
God bless you man
Nice reaction Steve. I still want a reaction on Vector's Wasted track tho
He was speaking metaphorically, its deeper than the words
Finally you have succeeded in making me a subscriber to your channel with this verdict. Booooom!! You just got a new buddy on your channel list
This is the definition of BLACK EXCELLENCE in its purest form!!!!!
Steve for President!! I feel you family...
No comment from me. You caught almost everything! 💛
You took me off guard on this one cos it's a new joint 🤣
Crown of Clay is a biblical emphasis: like a lasting crown
Mungo Park was a British guy who they said found River Niger, Same River our ancestors have been rolling with since time memorial🤣
This joint was fire 🔥
Your reaction was crisp #GSGang
Mr chike how are you doing its been a while
@@celestinentekop3504 I'm fine. You?
Am doing well by Gods grace. Is this the Chika that use to live next to me at church road uyo?
I'm mad invested in this connection and I don't know why 😂😂 how yall both doing. We all friends now
@@celestinentekop3504 Hahahaha. Thought as much bro 🤣
M.I is a King in Rap. I'd tell him when I see em
Truly, the vocals is kinda low judging by how the beat sounds(I think they could have done something with that)... but there flow is really nice.
Man, your reaction was faaaast. Pheelz killed the beat and the best line in the song was "I discover hidden flows who the fvck is Mungo Park"🔥🔥🔥
What MI actually saying he is the best Raper. He discovered rap Flow mugo Park dey learn from where him dey.
Wooh this was so fast!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
MI confuse this man 😂😂😂
Pheelz, the same guy that sang the chorus produced the song
I'm glad you did this before I started spamming you 😂
#GSGang
Crown of clay reps African credibility, originality, cultural depth and glory
I just know it...when Steve be having a good time with a song...he is totally in there....letsss goooooo!!!
Even burna boy said that too in his “monsters you made" song ...that mongo park line i mean
Logged onto ur channel from 5:35 am
Monday 15th March, Naija 🇳🇬 time 🙌 🙌
MI's flow is way too deep for this guy to react to... Period!
Dude you can't react fairly if you don't get context.
Exactly my thought
I don't expect him to understand. He is trying to relate to it literally but NO WAY! Crown of clay represents a rise from nothing to prominence.
Worldly..MI is the most Intelligent rapper Word-ly 🙌
"My mother told me wash your hands in the black stream
For the soil on which you toil has gasoline
Born in the water the fire that steam"
This verse right here 💯
It's so simple yet so deep
And I was planning to ask you for this!
@@jaetree4208 Exactly
Crown of clay is like saying I'm poor but I'm a king, u may not see the wealth but it there
Mango Park is like to Nigerians the way Columbus to Native Americans. He claimed to have discovered the source of River Niger , which is the symbol of what unite the Northern and Southern Protectorate later on by the British to unite into Nigeria.
