It’s weird how childhood memories work. I remember as an 8 year old thinking Dorothy Burke was an old lady-she was only in her early 40s here!
To an 8 year old, early 40s is old age 😂
Yes I thought Des's mum was old and the poor actress died at 50, so again was in her 40s...
She had class but was no square. According her backstory, she was a wee bit wild in the 60s.

Same with Helen, Madge & Harold..they were all so young but seemed ancient back then.. 😊

This episode of Neighbours was actually shown in 1992 in Australia although it has a copyright date of 1991.
As a general rule in Australia, programmes are given the year of copyright according to the year it was filmed/produced and not by the year it was broadcast.
True but for a long time the UK was almost a year behind Australia
@@Chris-ln6so This episode was presumably filmed in 1991, shown in Australia in January 1992 and then shown in the UK in January 1993.
The BBC were about 12-13 months behind Australia at this point.
@@madmurdock100 I'm aware that was the case here. The first episode of Neighbours to have a 1992 copyright date was Episode 1636 which was shown about a month and a half after this episode.
There is at least one 1991 episode which randomly had a 1992 copyright date when shown on the BBC
I don't suppose you have episodes 1882, 2220, 2223 and 2224 knocking about? I am trying to find them without any success

I happen to be their number one fan since I first saw them when they were sixteen years old. I have been admiring them ever since.

They left Australia and are in the US. They returned to Neighbours briefly for an episode and I guess they flew back there. They both had facial surgery. You wouldn't be able to recognise them if they walked past you. I am very dismayed about their new faces. I mean, it's not as if they were both involved in an accident that required facial surgery - money is hard to earn. But it's their life. No one can tell them what to do with their money. By the way, if you live in Brisbane, do you know what school or college they went to? I'd really like to know. See if I can salvage souvenirs of their old school days during their early years of innocence.
Dorothy's high pitched tones always bugged me back then and still do...l have a headache just from watching that first scene with her and Madge. Brenda wasn't much better.
