Sorry for very stupid question, but is it CURRENT OUTPUT REGULATOR? And can I use it to charge a battery with 40a bms (charge 20a) using 100a power supply connected to this?
You need to know the voltage. Otherwise how can you power it up? You need to find the current (ampere),from voltage using the powers (watt) here is formula P=V*A. Or A=P÷V. Yes this can dim it if it is within the range of this module
I have that kind of module i used it on my hho generator but the mosfet and the schottyy its getting hot when reaching 4amp. With 12vdc and with higher current (10A) the volage is also going drop into 10vdc.. Can i parallel using 2 pwm module in paralell the input and output. For better performance??
this is PWM (pulse width modulation) controller NOT a voltage regulator. You need a CC or constant current regulator that can control current. #robojax_constant_current
to know the amount of current, I presented the test results with 100% duty cycle of PWM. when duty cycle is 0%, it is so low, we can neglect it. so what the video to get the answer.
I am reading your comment after 8 hours. you should not have waited. Always check description of each video. you will be surprised. or should have searched my channel. I've made video for that.
Hi Sir, thats a very detailed video 👍 and helps me getting closer to a propper solution. I try to power two hooverboard motors, each 250W. Is it possible to use such controllers in leck of hall sensors and control them with a thumbthrottle? 😅 May it is stupid...thx
Why did the schottky diode get so hot at the 12V 20A test? I presumed that there would be very little flyback diode current with a resistive test load. Was the test load inductive to simulate a motor? (....... Would the heat come from about 0.2V X 20A X2?, but at some fraction of the PWM cycle?). Thanks for your clear explanations, the videos are excellent.
Sir, YOUR test at time 10:00 in your video, perhaps you could be kind enough to say why the flyback diode got so hot at 20A. I thought it would only be active with an inductive load. Your reply is very much appreciated, Thank You.
Thanks for the testing. I would be interested in knowing why it couldn't handle what it says it can. Where is the faulty design or component? Would it be a simple change or is \the whole design inadequate....other than just not enough cooling.
this is made in China by someone who doesn't know even to name this product or give it a model. Then 100s of other people reproduced it and no documentation. If you are know the components, you can easily draw the circuit but not worth it.
Hi thank you for your video. Could you please help me understand why some PWM controllers cause extra noise in the motor? I have tried 3 different PWM controllers for a DC fan motor and 2 of them cause some kind of noise when operating at lower duty cycle. Thanks
Hi, each motor has a threshold pwm value which can start running. when it is below that value it will start making noise. the noise is from turning ON and OFF. you can find it experimentally and always set that value as zero value.
Do you know if the voltage across the POT matches the supply voltage ? I am looking into using a 0-10v input signal for one of these for linear control with PID
I do not think the voltage across the pot is supposed to match supply voltage, those small potentiometers(100k?) Would burn up if hooked up to a 240 watt power source
@@robojax Good video thanks. Do you have a schematic of this PWM Driver. I want not to control it by 50KOhm Poti, i want to controll duty--cycle PWM out by analog Signal 0-10V. Is it possible to manipulate the board to use it with 0-10V controll signal instead the potentiometer. Regards Peter from Germany.
Thanks for the great tutorial, what if we want to drive a motor in both directions (control the direction). I have watched your XY-1250 and these controllers can be controlled via arduino, can we somehow use 2 of these controllers to control a DC motor in two directions? Because normal BTS7960 drivers wont hold >10A motor for few seconds.

I have the same question. For a 90V 3.5A DC Motor. You can implement an H Bridge with 2 relays but normal ones can handle up to 30V DC, so I accidentally burned them... Using solid relays may be an option but is much more expensive. I wonder if connecting 2 drivers to the same motor is possible (with diodes?)
Hi, i tried to use it with 24volt 250watt motor with two 12 volt 9 amp baterries( 24 volt total) but the Fuse went off immediately. what should i do? how can i make it work.?
Lm317 regulator max voltage difference is 40v, so here it is set to about 7v (for the 555) so max input voltage is 47v. Maybe they used the Lm317HV which has a 60V in-out so it can be driven up to 67v.
Not directly. RC receiver has PWM signal. but if you modify this module, it is possible.. the 555 has output, and if you disconnect the output of the 555 from the input of MOSFET and connect the output of your receiver, it might work. You would have to see the circuit of this module. I did not pay attention to the circuit for modification purpose.
Great video I would like to run a 12vdc gear motor off a joystick and be able to independently change the speeds of forward and reverse. Is this possible? If so could you point me to a video or diagrams? Thank you
I have shown that this can control motor in one direction. To pick a motor driver, beside the voltage, the current or power is need to be known. Search channel as I have tones of videos on motor driver and using Arduino.
exactly what are you trying to do? the car ignition coil needs 12V and electronic switch. When the switch goes OFF, it generates 12kV to 24kV (12000V to 24000V). this device just controls the PWM of 12V.
@@robojax hi thanks for the reply. I was planning on using it so I could create hv sparks . Would this not work for that ? Because iv already ordered it lol

What is the size of the pot ... I bought the same pwm potentio b100k ... But the pot didn't work ... I used 24volt input so the voltage couldn't be adjusted ... It only reads 24volt the output, please help me mr.. Thanks :D
I have explained it that this is controlling the motor using PWM. in PWM the voltage stays the same. it does not change. it is the fast turning ON and OFF of the voltage called duty cycle that causes the motor to speed up or slow down. So the voltage should be the same as input or a little lower like 0.5 to 1V lower.
Hi, im using the same controller to drive a dc motor, my question is can i change the potentiometer for a 5v hall effect foot pedal? Am i right in thinking the input voltage to the Potentiometer is 5v? then Earth and signal out? So a 3 wire 5v hall effect foot pedal should be able to control the output of the controller the same as the pot? Thanks alot, and great video.
hi, I am not sure about the Hall effect pedal you are using. But hall effect should be a "Switch" meaning it just Turns ON or OFF it doesn't got through difference values between 5V and 0V. It it does, then it should work fine.
Please watch the video without escaping. You have not watched the video fully. I have explained them all. Also please look under the video in the description. I have provided all the datasheets for components which I have explained in video.
Can you make a video about arduino mega connect with a keypad and lcd, by the value entered by the keypad it runs a motor driver (MD10C) that is connected to a brushless DC motor (BLDC)
Could I have 10 of these units in parallel, fed a single voltage stablised PWM from an Arduino, supplying 24v( maybe 36v) to a 24v truck starter motor, for an electric motorcycle project,200 amp motor controller is £250
if all of them are controlled by same Arduino, and the same power supply. it should work. yes. Make sure to test each separately to see if the output voltage of them are the same. if voltage are not the same, then you will waste energy. good luck
I have since bought 12v dc 0.18a brushless 2 wire fan. I bought a pwm controller to vary the speed but the fan did not even turn with the potentiometer in either position. Struggling to get any info even from suppliers. Can you advise what type of controller I need for this type of fan? Thankyou. Great videos.
if it has 2 wires, it should work. something is wrong. Check the resistance between the two wires using Ammeter or ohmmeter. you should get something less than 10Ω. if you get higher resistance, then it is bad. Test is and let me know
There is no resistance just an open cicuit. The fan runs on my bench p.s.u and I am able to vary the speed also by this method. The pwm I bought varies another older fan but not the new one . Do you think that I need to control it with another method?
Hi Mr Shamshiri. I have 10A version of this module, it works fine But the Schottky diode heats as the ampere raise above 2A! I dismount it and add a huge heatsink to it and I connect it again via 3 wire to PCB because 10A will blow it up definitely! but you use them without any change in your tutorials! what you think? my module has any difficulty or the diode is faulty? (chekar konim? :)
Hi I am not sure if the diode is faulty, one quick solution would be to put two diodes in parallel meaning anode to a doe and cathodes to cathode and this way the current stress on the diode is reduced to half.
@@robojax thanks for your quick answer. actually when the motor has heavy load the diode starts to heat up. The rpm of a DC motor cannot effectively well controlled by just adjusting the input voltage or current, as this will have more impact on the torque of the motor than on the rpm. A direct connection of a DC motor will have it work at its peak power, so in order to lower the speed we need to lower the average supplied power over a certain period of time, and that is basically what the PWM does: it modulates a continuous DC signal (lets say 12V) into a series of pulses with a certain duration (depending on how high the percentage of the peak power we want to supply to the motor). A duty cycle of 50% will mean that despite you actually supplying the nominal voltage to the motor, you will only do so 50% of the time, and as such, the motor will only provide 50% of its power. Answering your question: a direct connection to the battery is the equivalent of having the PWM set up to a duty cycle of 100%. Disregarding any losses of the control circuitry, the maximum speed a PWM can drive a motor is that motor's nominal max speed pm.
sorry I did not understand. Where? or which? I assume it has nothing to do with this module. if your question is "where" , then eBay, AliExpress or Amazon. if which then it is big question. it depends on how much you want to spend. perhap from $50 kit to $50,000

You need to know the voltage. Otherwise how can you power it up? You need to find the current (ampere),from voltage using the powers (watt) here is formula P=V*A. Or A=P÷V. Yes this can dim it if it is within the range of this module
Hello/6-60v 30A pwm Can it be used for pyrography?/Does it give 10.15 amps without getting tired?can it heat the wire with high current?
please answer my question
Hello, If I have tested it, then you should see it in the video. if you are talking about another module, I don't know how it would handle the power.
I have that kind of module i used it on my hho generator but the mosfet and the schottyy its getting hot when reaching 4amp. With 12vdc and with higher current (10A) the volage is also going drop into 10vdc.. Can i parallel using 2 pwm module in paralell the input and output. For better performance??
if both moth have exact voltage, yes you can connect them in parallel.
@@robojax thank you so much
you are welcome.
The circuit change output voltage or not?
Can i use for limit baterry charge max current without change the voltage?
this is PWM (pulse width modulation) controller NOT a voltage regulator. You need a CC or constant current regulator that can control current. #robojax_constant_current
how many amps the motor draws with vs. without pwm at low rpm (start and stop)?
to know the amount of current, I presented the test results with 100% duty cycle of PWM. when duty cycle is 0%, it is so low, we can neglect it. so what the video to get the answer.
With due regards I need the cicuit diagram of the above 20 amp pwm motor speed controller
no schematic for this. you would have to see the components and draw it yourself.
can we use arduino pins instead of potentiometer to control speed of motor wirelessly
I am reading your comment after 8 hours. you should not have waited. Always check description of each video. you will be surprised. or should have searched my channel. I've made video for that.
hi all. if you conect in input voltage 6 volt. can give a power for a 775 motor??
Have you purchased and have it in hand? Test it. The rest I have tested the input minimum, if not then in the title I said 10v is minimum
ok thanks
Thanks for your clear explanations, the videos are excellent.
either you exceed the 20A current or one of the pins of diode is not soldered properly.
Sir, YOUR test at time 10:00 in your video, perhaps you could be kind enough to say why the flyback diode got so hot at 20A. I thought it would only be active with an inductive load. Your reply is very much appreciated, Thank You.
I just watched the video. But still my previous comment is valid.
Thanks. Perhaps ‘Chinese 20A’ should be considered a maximum of 10A or less? Your tests in the video were very informative.
@@robojax plz tell me components name with its value extremely needed
I have not looked into reading any internal values.
You are welcome. The best thank you for me is to subscribe to my channel.

@@robojax Thanks alot robojax.
WOuld this work to slow down my DC Motor in my record player that plays too fast?
search for other motor controller. this is like 500 time powerful than a motor used in record player. But if you can use, yes it would.
Hi, i tried to use it with 24volt 250watt motor with two 12 volt 9 amp baterries( 24 volt total) but the Fuse went off immediately. what should i do? how can i make it work.?
You must have connected the wiring incorrectly. 250W ÷ 24V = 10.4A. This 10.4A is nothing for this module.
Lm317 regulator max voltage difference is 40v, so here it is set to about 7v (for the 555) so max input voltage is 47v. Maybe they used the Lm317HV which has a 60V in-out so it can be driven up to 67v.
Hello, can we control the speed of pmdc motor rated for 12volt, 120w used to run sewing machine...
if the motor is DC, then use this module. Or get another speed controller. if it is AC, then AC speed controller are also available.
Could I drive one of those from an RC receiver output instead of the variable resistor?
Not directly. RC receiver has PWM signal. but if you modify this module, it is possible.. the 555 has output, and if you disconnect the output of the 555 from the input of MOSFET and connect the output of your receiver, it might work. You would have to see the circuit of this module. I did not pay attention to the circuit for modification purpose.

I would like to run a 12vdc gear motor off a joystick and be able to independently change the speeds of forward and reverse. Is this possible? If so could you point me to a video or diagrams? Thank you
I have shown that this can control motor in one direction. To pick a motor driver, beside the voltage, the current or power is need to be known. Search channel as I have tones of videos on motor driver and using Arduino.
@@robojax I will do that thank you!
i've got the same module and the both mosfets are ypi7575 and the regulator is lm317t.

Wil they work for till 50, 60V of dc motor
It should be obvious since the original model name of the device is 20A-19S. I think the 19S just indicates the 19 sec time limit at 20A.
Can I use this as a driver for a 12v car ignition coil ? If so would I need to add a resistor? If so what size and where ? Many thanks
exactly what are you trying to do? the car ignition coil needs 12V and electronic switch. When the switch goes OFF, it generates 12kV to 24kV (12000V to 24000V). this device just controls the PWM of 12V.
@@robojax hi thanks for the reply. I was planning on using it so I could create hv sparks . Would this not work for that ? Because iv already ordered it lol
Also it's not for use in a car it's for experiments .
Yes it would but it is very high current and will be very dangerous and I advise against using it for that purpose.
would the PWM be hotter or cooler if you set it at a lower speed?
this not about hot or cool. PWM makes devices work efficiency. may be I did not understand your question.
Hi I like your video. What will you recommend me if I want to run a 60 volt 15 amp motor continuously? I want also to reverse the direction of the motion. Thank you

Plz I want to help me
I have two same this module but output voltage same input voltage no change when I turn potentiometer

Any idea which mosfets are being used in this board?

Can I connect 210-220v in 20A DC 10-60V PWM Motor Speed Controller from input power
this module doesn't care about the input or your converter. just DC from 10V to 60V is fine.
Can use it like buck converter?
NO. the output is always whatever the input is. The speed is controlled using PWM which does not change the voltage but rather the duty cycle.
Can you make a video about arduino mega connect with a keypad and lcd, by the value entered by the keypad it runs a motor driver (MD10C) that is connected to a brushless DC motor (BLDC)
I am not sure if I can do it as I am very busy and have tones of other items to be done.
It would be very interesting
Can one use this for a Ryobi 18v 200w BLDC motor?
The title says "DC Motor". Brushless motors need 3 wires to work. This is 2 wire for the motor.
Could I have 10 of these units in parallel, fed a single voltage stablised PWM from an Arduino, supplying 24v( maybe 36v) to a 24v truck starter motor, for an electric motorcycle project,200 amp motor controller is £250
if all of them are controlled by same Arduino, and the same power supply. it should work. yes. Make sure to test each separately to see if the output voltage of them are the same. if voltage are not the same, then you will waste energy. good luck
Sir can I put ecycle throttle on it instead potentiometer?? Sir please reply
what is a throttle? it is a variable resistor(pot) then yes. please send me the link to the throttle product page so I look at it.
This is the fan amzn.to/2YJDRcT
This is the pwm amzn.to/2CKw6Kr
Also if I unplug the pot the fan runs at full speed. The pot is 100k. When I plug it back in the fan does nothing with pot turned in either position
very nice video can i use these motor drivers with a remote control
At the end you tested 36 volts, but you said nothing about it... I was thinking about using this with a 36v Led. would that be possible?
Yes. As you can see the title, you can use up to 60V.
Hi
I am not sure if the diode is faulty, one quick solution would be to put two diodes in parallel meaning anode to a doe and cathodes to cathode and this way the current stress on the diode is reduced to half.
@@robojax thanks for your quick answer. actually when the motor has heavy load the diode starts to heat up. I don't know why. the diode is for making a way for suppressing kickback voltage of motors inductive coils. when I hinder the motor to rotate maybe it increases the kickback effect?! after all, thanks for your advise 🙏

Sir will the motor maximum speed increase when we use PWM controller or the speed will be same if the motor is connected directly to the battery
Disregarding any losses of the control circuitry, the maximum speed a PWM can drive a motor is that motor's nominal max speed
