These instructional videos have been a wonderful help to me! I thank God that after 5 years of lessons and 3 piano teachers, all who knew I wanted to play nothing but hymns for church, I finally found your lessons on RUclips! I could care less about your technical difficulties with your videos, because the teaching is spot on! I look forward to practicing now! May the Lord richly bless you.

Thank you so much for your time and effort showing us what to play as octave and chords. You have great ability to teach.

Thank you for pointing out that details count in playing octave-chord pattern. Very useful.

So I could understand and see what you were showing us I used a mirror and turned the iPad around each time I needed to. It worked out good

I just realized yesterday that the hymn was mirror image. I’m going to try to flip those sections and re upload I think. I’m so sorry - that’s frustrating!

Oh thank you so much. So far I have listened to the first two lessons every time before I practice again just to be sure I am playing it right.

Hi sir. Orginas St Francis Alberton Gauteng South Africa, why do you work from right to left when you explain the composition and not left to right, not serious I would like to know the science of thery behind it I thank you for the lessons a great help indeed Ivan Lane😊

Can you cover how to play invitation type songs too? Songs that wouldn’t necessarily want the octave-chord pattern? 😄

Yes, I apologize the camera switched things around. I need to eventually re-record this lesson with camera facing the correct direction. Thanks for asking!

Kevin, I'd love to hear you play live, so where are you in the world, and what is the name of the church?

Yes, I caught that awhile ago, but unfortunately I would have to re record the entire video to fix the problem. I decided to leave up since there were many who seemed to be helped by it, bugs and all. I do apologize. I hope to one day have time to focus on the channel again and redo some of these.

@@abbeyna01 Yes I realized that after I uploaded it. I apologize. I hope to eventually reload with everything flipped correctly. I believe this is the only one in the series that is like that however.

@@excellenceinchurchmusic3170 thank you. Yes I watched the entire series after this and it was very informative. I just tried out to be a piano player at a church and I was having a lot of difficulty with playing the hymns exactly as written. Since then I have modified the left hand to mainly octaves and that has really helped. I hope to get better with the stride pattern and playing the tenor in the right hand as well
