    One of the options is "text contrast boost" so that could help with readability. A big issue are the effects and damage numbers, maybe something could be done with colour contrast (maybe even pick your favourite colour) and the words being "on the top layer" like they are never obscured

    I don't know if they have typing classes anymore, but I can tell you that hearing from teachers on Reddit and Twitter that we definitely *_need_* them. Kids these days know *about* computers, but don't know how to *use* them because everything they do is on apps.
    People "recently" have thought "oh these kids are growing up with computers so they'll know how to use them" but then most of the kids don't learn the basics and are now deficient in the actual use. Typing classes and stuff should come back if they're not here now.

      There was a generation of kids, born around the mid-90’s to the mid-2000’s (a bit earlier or later depending on location), that did grow up familiar with computers, and really didn’t need typing lessons. It seemed reasonable at the time to expect future generations to need them even less.

      @@felipevasconcelos6736 It was a reasonable assumption, but unfortunately, interactivity shifted to smartphones, which doesn't translate well to typing on a keyboard. A fair few of my students at the college level aren't very good at typing, and I mean like, they're hunt and peck typists.

      @@AlisterCountel Phone keyboards don't translate well into physical keyboard. Hell, for a month I stopped writing on both paper and physical keyboard, but only on digital keyboard, my vocabulary was messed up badly. This is the thing people don't realise.
      Digital keyboard doesn't translate well. It never can.

    There's a dark mode that's way easier on the eyes, IMO. Felt willing to give this game a shot especially since it's just a demo right now. Definitely gets pretty hard around the 10 minute mark, and that was with quite a bit higher accuracy. Looks like the meta upgrades will make a big difference there, hopefully it doesn't take too long to upgrade everything.

    Genuinely curious about trying this game out. It looks like it scratches that simple roguelike itch but such a cool concept.

    Just downloaded it and I am captivated. My avg 100 wpm gets pretty difficult around 15 min. When you reach your speed limit, your upgrades and enemy choices matter a lot more. So fun! Still don't know what's good, but keeping the words short and focusing on damage and duration must be best, right?
    I would love stats on words that I always get wrong, cause this game has some silly ass words that always trip me up lol. Stats on my worse types words will help me get better

    im way into this concept

  • @arcticwolf6402
    @arcticwolf6402 3 месяца назад +1

    My problem is that - while the concept is great and I like how the execution is handled to a good degree - the game gets pretty stale/boring quickly... It's like an endless mode where you only level up. There are no different stages, etc. There isn't enough variety and not enough new/exciting things happen during the gameplay to keep me engaged.

    the game is great. the only thing is that it is really hard to balance it because of the big range of wpm players have. for people slower than 60 wpm, this game is really hard and for people with 200+ wpm it is quite a bit easier/too easy until the 20+ minutes range.
    i wonder if they will make an adaptive speed based on the overall wpm that you have in the save.

      You joke, but like, that's actually a cool as fuck idea. In King of Fighters XIII, they have Combo Trials that basically has you do complicated as fuck combos to complete the challenge. Now imagine that but with a game concept like this.

    • @rahuldas8393
      @rahuldas8393 3 месяца назад

      @@PhiTran-y7b I'm personally not into games with a heavy focus on the complexity of inputs (I am just not that good and don't like practicing) but I definitely see how that could be an interest for people who do.
      The idea you propose has potential to be good if accompanied by proper complementary mechanics especially for something like a controller on which no. of keys are limited so the complexity is added by making the string of input long and more time sensitive also including precise movement of the analogue sticks.
