The labels for the TL072s on the strip board layouts shown on your site are upside down. Don't want some new synth DIY people to get caught by that and put their chips in the wrong way. Thanks for making great videos and sharing this stuff with people!
Sorry for the question, the output A of the TL072 conect with the +12 power supply? Or the pin 3 conect with the +12 power supply? I cant make it work, i have 2,5 V in the output of the envelope all the time.
I see. I like electronic music. I just don't happen to like most of the modern EDM type of stuff that's so prevalent right now. This is the first video to tell me how to use my envelope. I’ve been into modular for like 6 months and didn’t know til now to output to the oscillator
Since discovering the Furby Organ video, I've started gathering midi instruments (some of which can do control voltages) so that I can experiment with bleeps and bloops (I'm an old-school gamer). Once I find a house to purchase and have some more room, I think I'm going to start making some of this stuff (as opposed to software emulating them with VSTs). It's always that one video you find that sends you down the rabbit hole into wonderland.
It's so interesting to see how everything I'd see in a DAW like FL Studio is physically being used to modulate sound waves. I grew up listening to electronic music so it's almost nostalgic actually seeing it being created.
Dude you got me into analog synths! Me and my dad have built a small and cool little 6U live synth, complete with drums and 4 oscillators! Can I bring a module to the show in Hamburg for you to sign?
Fairly new to modular, a few months, and I’m wondering if your style handwriting is a common module thing, or did Make Noise just find your handwriting, bc all the scribbles on their panels look like yours? You’re a true inspiration, man.
You, sir, are a genius of the highest order. Your videos are always a joy to watch, even if I can't put together a 3-pin mains plug without setting the house alight.
Lovely! Slowly getting things together to make myself a big button drum seq. A nice ramp was on my list of things to diy as well because I don't like how most of them work. Thank you, Sam!
Fantastic! That looks super-simple, I might have to build a couple for my diy synth! I have a 555-based ADSR one I built which was much more complicated, and I don't really use the sustain and decay functionality much! VCA next please!! ;-)
Great video Sam! Can't wait to build the EG. Just a note, looks like you forgot to add the layout for the attenuates at 6:04. Good thing those are the easiest part though haha
Oh dude! I will definetly try this one. I made the three oscilators with CVO from another of your videos and is a lot of fun to play with my TD-3. It feels like a rabit hole and its awesome to know you can actually build your own instruments. Greetings from Arg!

Man I love what you do. I saw a drum kit in your studio and you didn't know what to do with it yet. You have the answer in your modular synth. I was impressed by your animatronics synth and it would be great to incorporate this in an acoustic drum kit. I love playing drums and have been thinking about ways to spice up the stage presence of my drum. What if you could make the bass drum head into a giant animatronics face and make it react to the music. Or set of flamethrowers or CO2 guns, or leds or... What if you can make the face look bad every time the bass player is making mistakes? Or hook it up to the guitarists pedalboard so something happens when they engage a pedal to play a solo... So many ideas and possibilities, but being a drummer I don't have the abilities to build them myself, cause let's face it... I'm a drummer :-) Let your creativity flow and go down the rabbit hole on the drumkit :-)

You are very good and u have a nice style.
Have wonderful days and fun with all [what you make/creat] ;)
Nice! Happen to have a schematic? The stripboard layout doesn't really help with how it works.
As always, quite better than fucking pre manufactured boards or Arduino shit, so thanks, Brit; just keep going!

Dude, that timelapse banter cracks me up every time, hilarious! And a really useful guide on how to build up a circuit board.
You are the Kenny Everett of synth builders. Keep it coming :-)
ooft. If you told me the end result was an acid nightmare I would have attempted building it months ago

well the reason for a PC is so you don't have all this soldering to do and racks of knobs to carry around. Pretty compelling reason TBH.

0:39 An envelope? I wonder what analogy this madman is pulling from his sleeve.
0:41 Oh
I thought he's gonna go full EEVblog and do literal "back of the envelope" calculations
Now all we need is some simple drum synthesizer ;P
he has actually built one in his channel..
u could probs use a white noise gener8r w a filter and envelope tbh
There is a cool minipop clone for arduino out in the wild
