Thank you @hikmatwehbi for the podcast. Perhaps I am that one person she said. I googled lightworker. I NEVER listen to any Arabic podcast, your’s is the first one I watch for 50 minutes relying on translation. She is so relatable and true. I’m from Christian, Chinese, different culture, but what she says is so fundamental, I can relate to her story. Thank you Sara. You’re a gift.

Muslim culture in Arab countries, south Asian and African countries are so different from what the actual religion Islam says. In Islam Prophet Muhammad’s pbuh , wife was a businesswoman. She proposed Prophet Muhammad by herself. He didn’t get married again till Khadijah passed away. His wife Ayesha was a very learned woman, and men and women will come to ask her questions. Muslim women in Prophet MuHammad ‘s pbuh time had more rights, their status was much higher compared to current times. They were not judged if they were single or divorced. If they wanted to marry , they could married easily even after divorce. Right now most of the muslim women are in trouble because of muslim cultural values that are not based on Islam. Muslim women don’t have the correct knowledge-of Islam and they then raise their men as narcissists. Muslim women needs to have her own account and don’t have to share their income with spouse as Islam says. The prenuptial agreement of marriage or mehr concept is for the protection of women in Islam. There is no difference between a boy or girl in Islam. It was never a patriarchal culture as it is now in many muslim countries. This is due to politics and the education that is taught now in these countries. A muslim woman can take the divorce on her own according to the religion.
But seriously, it’s true, a lot of men pay don’t anymore. They don’t provide. I see this for almost 3 decades of my life in my mum. I’ve seen it around me too, men just free ride their wives’ money 🫥 Edit: I get that privilege conversation. Sara probably doesn’t realise that as an Emirati, those privileges are safety nets she doesn’t even realise she has even though she hasn’t used them - yet. While for a majority of people, they don’t have even one to fall back on - despite the decision to use it or not. This leads me to a question: what kind of benefits & privileges do Emiratis get? 👀 Sounds like the govt is doing great things for its people.

تتكلم عن العادات والتقاليد اللي اخترعوها ناس وراحوا. وأنه ما لها علاقة بالدين. هل هي متاكدة؟
