I often wonder what it must have been like being a kid in the late 30's early 40's and listening to your favorite radio shows. No stupid reality shows or the garage on TV nowadays.
Have you ever considered doing some of those shows? Like "Little Orphan Annie"? I only remember that from A Christmas Story and Ralphies decoder ring.🤣
I LOVED listening to these and other old radio shows as a kid, and LOVE them just as much today. THANK YOU SO MUCH for bringing us this new compilation with the dark screen! I so appreciate the longer - running selections. Your work in bringing these to us is greatly appreciated. Looking for the old LUX THEATER shows as well!❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏
@@GoldenRadioHour I enjoy both actually, as I adore fires in fireplaces…, the shimmering light, the crackle and pop of the fire! But I really like having the option of the dark screen for two reasons. One is that it doesn't drain the battery on your device as quickly when the screen is dark. And two, the dark is also perfect for listening while going to sleep ( it takes me hours sometimes!), or while relaxing with your eyes closed. I also can't look at the screen while at work, so the dark screen works better in that case as well because it keeps my battery usage down.👍👍 I really do appreciate being able to find these old shows on You Tube. I missed them. They bring back a lot of good memories from my childhood. I started listening to CBS Mystery Theater back then, and it grew from there. And I've always been a fan of the Twilight Zone. There was a show that my family and I were listening to on the radio in 1976 or 1977, Christmas eve, on the way to the Christmas Eve service at church. What I remember about the episode was that there were men, I think they were astronauts that landed somewhere unknown, and as they went over a large hill they came upon the crucifixion of Jesus. But then we had to leave the car to go into the church service. To this day, 48-49 years later, that has stuck with me and frustrated me because I never got to find out what happened in that episode. But because it was so long ago, I couldn't remember the name of that episode, and wasn't positive it was a CBS Mystery Theater release. ( even though that was what we used to get on the radio in Michigan back then) I have continued to try and find that episode to this day. It still drives me crazy, not knowing exactly what those men saw, and what realization they came too. Did it turn out they had actually re - landed on Earth, but during the time Jesus walked the planet, going back in time, and thus were experiencing the crucifixion? Or landed on a parallel Earth? That has stuck with me all these years and drives me insane because I haven't been able to find the correct radio show / episode. Does that sound at all familiar to you? Looking forward to your continued releases of old radio shows. I for one truly appreciates your work, and efforts to bring the public good quality releases of these wonderful stories! Thank you!❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️🥰

I wonder as well, it must have been a great way to relax after work and a nice topic to talk about throughout the week.

@@GoldenRadioHour Then get back to work! That's what your paid for.😉 Please consider doing some of the kids radio shows. I think they would be great.
Love these episodes of Twilight Zone. ❤ Thank you
I prefer old radio shows to anything on TV, Except the Twilight zone episodes 😊

Wow! Thank you for your kind words. Do you prefer the dark screen marathons or the fireplace backgrounds?
