I love William and the Black Eyed Peas so much but this whole recording session was definitely off. They all sounded like demos and I guess they where never finished, CL fit really well with Dopeness tho.

And there was also a bit of an awkward feeling while watching them record it with will.

Because Korean artists in general tend to stay much longer in recording studios to perfect their music while in the West you need to do it perfectly in two to three tries if not you have to start all over again on the next session.

Fame didn’t get to them at all though. Minzy wanted to leave as who wouldn’t if we where all in her shoes and Bom’s “scandal” put a big dent in the group. It’s messed up how people brought that up and twisted it to make Bom look bad. It was years ago. CL was used only as she has good connections and YG barely let her do anything and recently Dara just left YG a couple months ago. Around the time Minzy wanted to leave. They should’ve properly had one last song and preform all their hits and have last fan events before they disbanded. Cause at this point YG only cared for Blackpink and couldn’t care less for 2NE1. I hope the same thing doesn’t happen to Blackpink. I feel really bad for Blackpink, their music is slowly heading in a better direction and I hope it stays that way.
2ne1 tv is definitely doing Bom justice.. it really gave her time to show people how bubbly her personality is--and she's not even doing it on purpose. she's hilarious!
I wonder how the collab between will.i.am and 2NE1 happened, and it is so disappointing that none of these songs were promoted properly. The working styles seemed to differ, but it seemed at least as if they got along well and the fact that will.i.am called them to go to London indicates something. 2NE1 and Teddy expressed a lot of respect for him (that touching clip of Minzy in the last episode talking about how she had never dreamt something like this could happen!), I just wonder if will.i.am realized how big and significant 2NE1 was / is not only to Korean fans but to international fans (speaking as a US fan, it was cool seeing yourself in them or relating to an amazing and talented girl group that defied stereotypes, especially as Asian artists, which we don't see too much still here in the US). Also interesting that he said "foreign" as a way of expressing that he wanted to do something that has never been done before, but man, it could have been so easily misconstrued as pure exoticism or something. Anyway, a bit of transparency would be nice to give the fans at least some idea of what happened to these songs.
think they got their ages wrong, Minzy was sixteen (Korean age) and fifteen (American/British ect. age) CL was eighteen almost nineteen (Korean age) and seventeen almost eighteen ( American/foreign age) Bom and dara were around 26 (Korean age) and 25 ( American/ foreign ect age) I think.

Internationally, KPOP is doing great in part because it’s so different, or so similar to 90s American hip hop; see it how you will. The genre is really built on so many other genres, with the ‘exotic’ factor.
